I just got though watching the updating video, could you leave the written directions long enough on the screen so one can read it? Not all sewers are computer whizzes or speed readers. I’m still dumbfounded after watching this three times, not stupid, just old.
Dear Renate, since you mention the updating video you are probably not referring to video above, are you? When working on our videos, we try to find a good compromise between sufficiently long display of the texts and an overall video duration that is not too long (unfortunately, longer videos don't get much attention). One of the reasons why we use text inserts is that they make it possible to pause the video and read the directions. Here is a PDF document with instructions on how to update a B 880: www.bernina.com/BERNINA/media/Support/Sewing_Quilting_Embroidery/8_Serie/BERNINA_880/Software/Download_firmware_BERNINA880_SN_de_en_fr_V2.pdf I hope this helps!
Dear Heike, thanks for your comment. We agree that is important to provide good-quality instructional videos and are constantly trying to improve in this field. This also applies to the display time of text inserts. Because Renate was referring to an updating video in her comment, we assumed that she had accidentally placed her comment in the wrong place. Hence our answer with a link to a PDF document with detailed information on the updating process. Can you please let us know what important use and care you are missing so far or what parts of the video above aren't clear enough? We appreciate your help and will keep your input in mind for future video productions.
Hello Gene, thanks for your comment. It's great you are taking the time to look after your machine. This is important. You don't need to turn the hand wheel much, only enough to be able to see the hook race (the gold coloured metal part). However, you should generally be able to turn the hand wheel completely around. If you feel that it is blocked please check for a jammed thread. If you can't solve the problem please contact your dealer. There may be threads jammed somewhere which you can’t see. Kind regards from Switzerland
It's a video... SPEAK & TEACH us. Is this how you teach your dealers with one or two words?? Get a Senior Technician in the Service Department to actually instruct your customers how to do a self service. The Bernina.com site doesn't even sell a recommended oil. GREAT machine... terrible customer care after the sale. my local Bernina Dealer is a ripoff and has her unskilled daughter doing it for extra money... so how hard can it be.
Dear SeacoastView, thanks for your comment. We use text inserts on our video tutorial because this makes it possible to stop the video and still read the message. It is also a help for the hearing impaired. As for selling oil online: A lubricator with BERNINA oil comes standard with the accessory package of the B 880. Replacement lubricators are offered by BERNINA dealers. As a sewing machine manufacturer, BERNINA does not sell directly (online) to customers but only through specialized and independent BERNINA dealers. If you are disappointed with the service your local dealer offers, please get in touch with the customer support of BERNINA of America through berninaofamerica.zendesk.com/hc/en-us (assuming that you live in the US). Kind regards from Switzerland
I wish you have a similar video on the Bernina 1008 model since the 1008 model is the sewing machine I have. Anyhow thanks.
Again, thank you.
a tip: you can watch series on Flixzone. Been using them for watching loads of movies these days.
@Bryce Colton Yea, been using flixzone} for years myself :)
