For years I never knew what to look for under the bobbin area mainly because my “fork” is black and I had no idea if what I was looking at. I have NOT had fun with this machine! I would look at the book and never saw that “fork”, but yesterday I looked around putting in wording to see what I could find and Sew Shelly Quilts had a video and, like yours, her “fork” was gold as well. Then she showed the picture of the thread sticking out of the V area of that “fork”, then is when I knew what too look for. Mine was very black along with everything else under there and I finally found it. I am sooooo happy. I had quit trying to sew with it, wanted to throw it out in the front yard or get a hammer, but now, I have high hopes.

I'm assuming that this machine uses it's own special bobbins? You can't use reg. bobbins in other words.. And are these bobbins expensive?

These bobbins currently cost $6.99 each.
