The new terra blade is also significantly easier to use. The old one was just a little awkward due to its relatively slow projectile speed on projectiles that were, themselves, pretty small. Things like empress of light were kind of a chore using it. Also, a hidden stat I rarely see discussed is that the old terra blade didn't actually fire its projectiles at set intervals. The projectile firing got _slower_ as its melee speed increased, gimping its long-range DPS despite the projectile dealing more damage than the blade itself clearly indicating it was intended for a long-ranged role. So the new one's guaranteed projectile with every swing is quite a nice addition to actually make melee speed a worthwhile stat.
You might've not seen anyone talk about it, but you can guess my shock when I found that faster swings≠more dps with the old terra blade, I saw it on a video once also, I just think that after the sword that drops from the saucer came out people stopped going for Terra Blade, and only made it to eventually make Zenith later on, so that's probably why it wasn't talked about much.

Of course new terra blade is infinitely better. Like projectile size also scales with weapon size while it still feels like a melee sword(just with a gigantic shockwave) while old terra was just kinda like rifle without ammo requirement). And + 1 for the horseman's blade(it's like post plantera gungnir + some more). Seeing this chlorophyte changes first time since I just gone straight for turtle set... Looks much better now (maybe I'll try that on a mage)
Have you tried the new void bag changes yet?
you want to get the bananarang pre mechs if possible since it's increadibly strong for them but after mechs it falls off pretty hard
Quick Question. If 4% melee speed gives 4% more projectiles = 4% more ranged dps then isnt it just the same as menacing?
Terra blade with melee speed upgrades can, not even kidding, outperform endgame weapons like meowmere and star wrath. It's actually insane now lol
Sure, by that point the damage is a little lackluster, but it's so easy to land hits that it can effectively deal more damage on a regular basis.
The buff to star wrath makes that a pretty insane contender as well.
You should do a vid trying to find the fastest you can make a melee weapon swing
If you don't mind sharing what mods do you use?
Terra blade is now a cool weapon ensted of a pre golem influx waver
the new bananarang is honestly nuts carried me all the way to plantera easily on master mode
