Steve Morse retired from DP two years ago to look after his wife who was ill with terminal cancer, she recently passed away. His replacement, two years ago, is Simon McBride who is from Northern Ireland, Simon has previously played with Don Airey and Ian Gillan on various solo projects, so they were very familiar with each other, and a good choice as a permanent replacement for Morse. Deep Purple today: *Ian Paice, age 75, since 1968 *Ian Gillan, age 78, since 1969 *Roger Glover, age 78, since 1969 *Don Airey, age 75, since 2002 *Simon McBride, age 45, since 2022.
