First saw Deep Purple in 1973, back in my hometown of Sheffield UK, they blew me away then, they're still blowing me away now. Ian Gillian, 78 years young!
I completely agree with your analysis. The flavor, the spirit, the power of Deep Purple are intact. Mcbride gives them fresh air but there is no doubt that he is sitting at the table of the GODS of Rock.
Receipts in hand...THIS is the absolutely connected legacy of the soundtrack of my misspent youth! AND, to all you children - This is why you should Never, EVER underestimate us old heads. Thanks Bro, Super cool addition to my 4th celebrations! rl 11B4V 🤘👹🤘
Saw Deep Purple back in 1985 on their Perfect Strangers tour, Blackfoot opening. It was at a high school football stadium in downtown Flint, Mi right in a neighborhood surrounded with houses 😳 (the stadium is now a small college football stadium). This particular song rocks! Just a good classic rock sounding track 🤘
I have to agree with every word you just said. Jeez, this is some hot gear. I've been a Purple fan for most of my now pension age life yet don't remember being so excited at the prospect of a new album than this. Simon McBride has brought a new vibrancy to the band that I never thought I'd ever hear again. Whatever the average age of this band, this is as fresh as a daisy.
Don Airey had been a part of my musical life since I was a little girl and I love him and the way he's really become a part of Deep Purple 💜💜. As for Simon McBride ~ thank you 💜💜
I struggle with any non-Blackmore iterations of Purple, but this is pretty solid. It's not the sort of thing that I would jam to or really want to hear over and over, but it's amazing that the guys still sound this good. There are lots of bands twenty years younger than them that can't produce anything that sounds like their signature sound. Oh, yeah, and Don Airey absolutely smashes!
@@robhakeRitchie has been enjoying playing his favourite music, with his favourite lady, for last 25yrs … and it ain’t classic rock … he is indisputable guitar genius imo nevertheless … love everything that guy plays … however, Tommy Bolin, Joe Satriani, Steve Morse and now Mr. Simon McBride have all contributed to phenomenal legacy of the greatest band of all times … Deep Purple … each ‘mark’ from 1, 2, 3 … to the latest was absolutely great, although different from the one before it. That’s what the geniality of this band is. They simply don’t care what mainstream thinks
Don Airey is on Colosseum 2's 1973 album 'Strange New flesh' and does a brilliant solo on the track 'Dark Side of the Moog', you should react to that one. Also this album is Gary Moore's debut into the English rock scene.
KOOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜 As I age love seeing this !!!!!!!!!!! Awesome cover of CHILD IN TIME by TARJA and Rata Blanca however still on the hunt for the professional audio that some say exists ☮☮💘💘💥💥
Sounds like classic DP to me. I look forward to the release of the full album on the 19th. To all the critics, I've got news for you. This band makes records because that is what they do, and they don't really care at all what you or I think.
You should hear me talk about Bad Company with Roger Waters and Pink Floyd with Paul Rogers. And I can't keep the brothers in Oasis straight. My brain is an idiot. Cheers! Eric
Eric Even though he can't hit those high notes, Ian Gillan got it down! Don Airey, heir to the keys after death of Jon Lord kicked ass on those keys. Roger Glover and Ian Paice keep the beat.
What is it with Mericans? Why can’t they pronounce IG’s name properly? It’s Ian Gillan NOT Ian Gillian (Mericans always add the second “i”), why? By the way, Don Airey hasn’t used Jon’s old Hammond C3 for a very very long time, he uses a Hammond A-100.
Well now, this is a surprise! They still got it after all these years.😄 Maybe not quite as quick on their feet, but you can't deny that classic Deep Purple sound!! 🤘😎🤘
Musically an absolute example of great, classical Rock, like it was decades ago. Yet, I wonder if they are in monetary need to help sell the "End of the world" doom and gloom scam. An old an established star ensemble like DP, shouldn't have the need to feed modern days political correctness. They are old enough to know better. rising waters, heat,... my a.s.s. The lyrics are a disaster, beforehand they should have visited the political fear-mongers at their sea-side resorts. DP - Deep Pain, sad.
I said this on someone else's reaction video about this song. While the song is pretty good and the main riff especially is solid, without Richie Blackmore and Jon Lord it's just not Deep Purple. A lot of these older classic rock acts might be touring for quite a while now with only a couple of original members and a bunch of replacements, but that just constitutes glorified tribute bands in my opinion.
Deep Purple is objectively the best band of all time.
Deep Purple 2024. Sounding better than ever.
Oh My God! Time has stood still since 1973 and Deep Purple is still rocking hard!
Sounds like the golden years of 70's.
Sounds like the golden years of 70's. Simon McBride is the best choice of playing guitar like Purple needs.
They still are fantastic ,the best there were and the best there will always be.
I concur, seeing them in october in Brussels
New album is outstanding, their heaviest album since Abandon
wow this new guitar player probably the best they had loving this sound best since perfect strangers

GILLAN
Signature sound of my youth is still there.
I grew up on these guys, makes me soo happy to see them still going.
Don Ary is the only one in the universe who can take Jon Lord's place
AIREY

Have ever showed ...the incredible 70’s....Child in time
They still have their sound.. Beautiful!!!
RIP Jon Lord!

@@johnnewman366 I'll get over it when they produce anything close to what Richie did. It's only thirty years and counting and I'm still waiting.

Great reaction to an amazing song!

Don Airey is who Jon Lord recommended and that's largely why he was chosen.
Deep purple no way! Bull horns baby 🤘
Only Don could have filled Mr Lords shoes….top man 🎹 🕺🎶🎶🎶
"Horns Emoji" There ya go. Love this band.
Awesome 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Some octogenaries sounding fresher than youngster bands. What a lesson of life. I love them.
Deep Purple are about to release their best album in at least 30 years
No its the best album since 70s
Excellent! Thanks Eric 🤘🤘
An underrated protoprog blues album I recommend checking out the Roy Buchanan album You're Not Alone.
