This is what happened to be in 2012: Dude had a computer for sale for $300, I showed up and he did the whole "Well I got a higher offer of $500, so do you want to pay me $600?" I said no and walked. Three days later the dude sends me a message saying "Yeah, uh I still have not sold it, so you can come have it for $350". When I said no, he reported me to facebook.... like WTF?
Same here man the absolute dead moment I show up and one even starts off with "here's the thing"... I roll not even tryna listen. These people do it the other way around too they'll make a f'n offer without even seeing it, then play the bargain bazaar games with you trying to get it for nothing. This why nobody meets at my place. Marketplace is a shithouse right now
@@mediaflmcreation Man I've had people say they'll buy something. They'll schedule the purchase a week out and then a day before try and skiff my 200 bucks off the 500 dollar purchase.
Lol had that happen. Want to buy this piece of work out equipment thought the price was reasonable 90 buck As I'm driving over there he ups the price another $100 and says his friend told him he could get more for it. Told him we agreed on the price and that I'm not interested in paying more for something that we already agreed on. He said cool. I'll find someone else then. One year later it's still on marketplace and he hasn't sold it I offer him 90 bucks. He says sure, when can you come. I gave him a time. When it got close I told him "hey my friend said I could get it cheaper, I'll give you 40 bucks" He got mad at me but apparently he deleted the chat cuz I just screenshot him the shit he pulled on me and then blocked him. At least he wasn't driving for 40 minutes before I changed the agreement
@davidthemagnificent345 How is that not smart? If they up the price when you get on site to buy after you've already agreed on a selling price beforehand, that's just scummy on the sellers part. They're not worth your time dealing with at that point. Best to walk ASAP. In my opinion that's the smartest move a buyer can make in that situation.
I regularly buy car parts on FB marketplace. Had too many interactions with people like this! Was going to pick up some wheels for my 240sx. Price was $375 Half way through a hour and a half drive guy messaged me saying he got a higher offer then blocked me. 3 months later same guy messaged me asking if I was still interested. In my experience it's the buyers. Firm price, I know what I got and have it listed at a very fair price. Because the price is so fair I'll only meet close to my location. Endless stream of people offering 10-30% of my price and wanting to meet in between my location and different states.
