We called my (late) mom, "hollow leg" because she could eat like no one would believe. At a buffet, she would "warm up" with a couple of hot dogs before moving onto a few servings of fried chicken and mashed potatoes and then like the Beard, get some dessert! RIP Mom, miss and love you!

I grew up one block from there and eat there at least once a month. It's a great throw back atmosphere. You can't find many places that specialize in hotdogs these days and they are delicious. They also sell fried dough, which is impossible to find unless you go to a carnival or make it yourself.
For several years, since he was really little, my son (and now the whole family) have called Beard “Man Eating Big Hotdog”. Imagine how excited he was when we tuned in tonight to watch this one! Great video as always, thanks Beard. 👍

Very authentic and friendly locals. The beard has a very "American" style of small talk that Americans immediately warm up to. Great episode - nice vibe to the video.
small talk is slowly fading away, it's kinda sad because it makes for an eventful trip when you get to talk to people and hear their stories about life and what not. A lot of other countries outside of North America don't really take the time to get to know your neighbors, at least from my experience.
@@glarre I visited a lot of English speaking countries, I will say that the bigger cities are not talkers but even in more rural areas of Germany people weren't very open to talking.

Very authentic and friendly locals. The beard has a very "American" style of small talk that Americans immediately warm up to. Great episode - nice vibe to the video.
small talk is slowly fading away, it's kinda sad because it makes for an eventful trip when you get to talk to people and hear their stories about life and what not. A lot of other countries outside of North America don't really take the time to get to know your neighbors, at least from my experience.

@@glarre I visited a lot of English speaking countries, I will say that the bigger cities are not talkers but even in more rural areas of Germany people weren't very open to talking.

I was shocked that Beard did not ask for a desert menu. It would've been soo good asking for desert menu in front of all those lovely people. But then at last Beard took the food that someone was throwing to waste. That made me happy :))

After watching another 'food challenge' eater, I have to say, the low key set up without a big crowd of supporters, just a few locals really works so well! Don't change a thing!
