I was instantly intrigued-I’m a FF14 player that never played WoW (and FF11 before that) and I was curious about how accurate the video was. It took me a couple weeks of steadily learning the lore, world, gameplay loops and community type but I found out the video was accurate and cleverly woven in with a great sense of humour. But I wanted more, so I kept learning until I could easily follow the Shadowland story and thus his funny take on it. It was totally worth the effort.
A friend of mine is farming Mirmiron's Head for almost 3 years now, every week he goes there to see if he gets it...i got mine while randomly farming some tier armor sets with my brother...he really wanted me to get kicked from the guild after that.
A friend of mine cursed at me multiple times now cause he played for years and never got mounts like Invincible, Mimiron's Head and the Drake of the South winds and I got them pretty quickly. The later I actually got in my first try and thought to be 100% drop chance. My most recent mount is the Midnight from Legion Karazhan. Took me a month to get it
I got Invincible after a decent bit of farming on all my characters. A couple of years later during BfA I told a friend of mine, "Hey I've got a good feeling, let's go get you Invincible, I have a good feeling." we run it, they loot, nothing. I loot Invincible again, and trade it to them before they realize what even happened. The amount of bewildered swearing was hilarious. They joke I have a horseshoe up my ass because of my luck with mounts.

Thought it was 100% and told my friend with whom I was on skype that I got it. Man, the cursing afterwards just made it sweeter xD.
It dropped for me first try before I knew mount farming was a thing so I assumed they made all old raid mounts drop 100%. I also got the clutch of Kun lai (dont actually remember the name) the same day which further reinforced my belief.
My first "Going down" was an accident. I just want to try new demonhunter class fly on mount and use a wings to land. I just forgot you can be rewarded for something like that.
During WoD I went to Outland to compare them / nostalgia reasons. While there i decided to do a run through Sethekk Halls. I don't collect mount and this was my first run through since TBC. I got the mount and a guy in my guild went nuts. He said he'd been farming it weekly for years.
I had something similar happen in Strathholm when I got the death charger on my first run. People would message me in private and give me death threats because of it.
You think this is bad? How about you been this pet forcing to fight with team of another "pets" based on something called "balance" in something called "Peeveepee". Brrr

During that time, I farmed my Invincible within 2 months on my main, while my friend who has been playing much longer than me has never gotten it despite farming it religiously on multiple toons. It felt really meaningless to me, because there was no skill involved, I just went in, 1 shot everything, and got lucky. I believe that there should be bad luck protection for everything, which WoW did use to have with badges of justice and valour back in WotLK. My luck was so poor in the Nathria tier that I literally had not a single mythic level weapon drop (i226) for that entire tier, despite raiding mythic and clearing at least 10 M15 dungeons every week for the weekly chest. It was ridiculous, and contributed strongly to me leaving. I would probably have stayed if there was a way to buy mythic level gear with tokens, much like how you can buy Savage gear in FFXIV with enough raid tokens (1 token/boss/week).

@Evan Shlom the countless things you'd have to farm, many on a daily or weekly lock, for abysmally low drop rates in a ton of areas throughout all expansions since vanilla. It's beyond daunting. A colossal undertaking.

I was farming it for about 8 months. I got used to it not dropping that when i got it, it was sitting in my bag for about 4 days without me noticing it.
It took me under five runs to get BOTH the mounts from Throne of Thunder. Meanwhile I've done Return to Karazhan so many times, and still have not gotten Midnight
That 1% and lower mount drops is what seems to keep players still in game… Pro tip you can achieve the falling achievement using a goblin glider kit ya still counts as falling 🤷🏻♂️
I never played wow, but found this channel through the ffxiv communities, that said, this content is so high quality that even people with no wow experience can really appreciate it.
I’m the same in how we found Captain Grimm from his FF14 video, but I took the time to learn about WoW so I could appreciate them better. I regret nothing.
Know a guy who's been farming Invincible for 10 years plus, told all of us if we ever got it to just not tell him we did. He said some other choice words I can't repeat here as to why 😂😅

I will never forget watching the heavenly onyx cloud serpent drop for a recruit guildie on their very first attempt. I damn near shut off my game and put my head through the wall lol.

I noticed I somehow had amazing luck with rare mounts after I unsubscribed for months and came back. I suspect there is some sort of program running in the background that increases rare drop chance for returning players to give them the shot of motivation in order to keep them subscribed for longer.

I made promise like 11 years ago that when I will get Invincible I will be free from WoW. Dropped last week after 11 years of waiting. Unninstalled WoW, Im free, same as Arthas. It IS really over my King.

I was farming Rivendare's from vanilla through to shitshowlands, never even seen it drop, possibly the worst luck ever. But I had a new friend I met in shadowlands and we'd shared our stories her of farming Invincible me an endless Rivendare. A few weeks later 3 of us went to do ICC runs together and in my loot was Invincible, never tried farming it before, but there it was. Before the others could even react I had the trade window open and gave it to them. I knew well the pain of an unending search and I had a way to stop that cycle for them, that horse brought them far more joy and relief than it would to me. I never did get Rivendare's before quitting but I got to witness the joy of a years long search ending and one of us finally got our pony.

Welcome back! And I know the feeling from the first guy I farmed Ashes of A’lar since cataclysm on and off. Finally got it last year or the year before which sucks because I rarely ever play retail and play mainly classic.
Sorry, but the hassle to get Ashes compared to Invincible isnt the same even in the slightest. You can directly run to Kel and skip everything, in ICC you have to beat every fucking boss (at least when I did it) besides the heal boss. Sure, you could create a second account and have a 11/12 boss kill ID ready, but that will cost you 15 bucks every month extra and you need a 2nd PC/laptop for it. Though if I would want the mount no matter what Id probably pay it. ^^ My "Invicible"/Moby Dick was the Pattern for the T5 chain belt. I farmed it until some month ago since Cata/Pandaria.
Still farming invincible myself. Last year i showed my sister how to farm it aswell, later she texted me asking if it was this mount i meant and that she got it on her 3rd attempt. Same thing with the legendary bow in sunwell. I took her there showing what i farmed for and it drops for her on her first visit.
the fall achievement is actually quite easy to do. In the night elf starting area, the first big tree where all the NPCs are, has planks which go to the right side where you can jump off the spiral up-way thing. One of them has a jump that goes right between split roots which is slightly lower then other terrain. If you press jump, then aim forward into that spot - you'll get the achievement every time. I always did it for fun when I was experimenting with night elves.
This encapsulates me so perfectly a few years ago, I was after specific mounts, specific pets, hundreds of hours farming specific transmogs and that was my fun. Lovely!!! Masterpiece content!!!!
God the invincible skit reminded me of my 900+ garrosh heroic kills (sometimes I just did a weekly clear on my plate characters, some days I'd run it 10x an hour by cheesing lockouts). Never obtained tusks....
I wouldn't say so. When I compare FFXIV collecting to WoW I feel like FFXIV collecting actually gives you the light at the end of the tunnel while WoW just tries to see how far can they get away with abusing you.
I can relate to that orc. The baron mount (blue undead horse) has never dropped for me, nor have I seen it drop. I played since classic, and I began to wonder long ago if it even existed xD
I'm the guy that comes in at the end! I ran ICC a handful of times at best (outside of wotlk being current) for transmogs, got it completely unexpectedly. Cut me off mid sentence in discord because I was momentarily flabbergasted. My buddy in chat had just started his weekly runs of it a couple months prior so it hit extra hard.
Thats exactly how i always imagined those collectors look like, when they just randomly farm things they dont want while you... REALLY want that one thing and it never drops.
That first sketch... I felt that. I may have never tried farming for the winged horsie, but in D3 I've been farming for over a decade to get that damned gibbering gemstone. It doesn't exist. It can't exist! Fuckin' hell I've wasted so many in game MONTHS trying to find the damned thing but IT JUST WON'T DROP! Heh. It doesn't exist. And the devs at Blizzard are monsters for making me think it ever did.

The first one hits hard. I just missed out on it when it was current content, and have been farming it ever since. A 'friend' of mine got it on his first try.
Holy Hell so spot on. For me, it was Rivendare's Deathcharger and...and Invincible. Oh god, I hated both Stratholme and Icecrown. I still do. Some friends want to do them for nostalgia and I literally go: "Haha, no." followed by internal screaming. And they wonder why I don't want to go to either.
I was just leveling an alt when Rivendare dropped, certainly wasn’t farming. Actually I didn’t even know it was rare at the time. No longer playing, but Captain Grim is worth watching.

I got that hand mount from the shadowlands first try from those world boss guys at the end of the event... Being a mount farmer who still hasn't gotten the lich king mount... I know the feeling of seeing someone else get it and I get frustrated since it's never dropped for me...but when I get things first try I feel bad but also thanking the Lord I don't have to do another farm for a mount xD

Mimiron's Head was the only raid mount that ever dropped on me and I got it on the very first try. It still feels surreal...

I’m the same in how we found Captain Grimm from his FF14 video, but I took the time to learn about WoW so I could appreciate them better. I regret nothing.

Know a guy who's been farming Invincible for 10 years plus, told all of us if we ever got it to just not tell him we did. He said some other choice words I can't repeat here as to why 😂😅
@@sonofthebearking3335 i have 2 friends that started playing in WoD and got it in sub 30 attempts each meanwhile i started in wrath and still dont have it... they never even use it is the worst part, its just a number to them.
I will never forget watching the heavenly onyx cloud serpent drop for a recruit guildie on their very first attempt. I damn near shut off my game and put my head through the wall lol.

Would it be bad to mention I got it on 3rd kill and only kept coming back to Tempest for elusive mogs and pets? I noticed I somehow had amazing luck with rare mounts after I unsubscribed for months and came back. I suspect there is some sort of program running in the background that increases rare drop chance for returning players to give them the shot of motivation in order to keep them subscribed for longer.
You know it’s going to be a great day when Grim releases a new video. Thank you, it was great. I can’t relate to that orc at the start though because I got Invincible too.

I made promise like 11 years ago that when I will get Invincible I will be free from WoW. Dropped last week after 11 years of waiting. Unninstalled WoW, Im free, same as Arthas. It IS really over my King.

I was farming Rivendare's from vanilla through to shitshowlands, never even seen it drop, possibly the worst luck ever. But I had a new friend I met in shadowlands and we'd shared our stories her of farming Invincible me an endless Rivendare. A few weeks later 3 of us went to do ICC runs together and in my loot was Invincible, never tried farming it before, but there it was. Before the others could even react I had the trade window open and gave it to them. I knew well the pain of an unending search and I had a way to stop that cycle for them, that horse brought them far more joy and relief than it would to me. I never did get Rivendare's before quitting but I got to witness the joy of a years long search ending and one of us finally got our pony.

Welcome back! And I know the feeling from the first guy I farmed Ashes of A’lar since cataclysm on and off. Finally got it last year or the year before which sucks because I rarely ever play retail and play mainly classic.

Sorry, but the hassle to get Ashes compared to Invincible isnt the same even in the slightest. You can directly run to Kel and skip everything, in ICC you have to beat every fucking boss (at least when I did it) besides the heal boss. Sure, you could create a second account and have a 11/12 boss kill ID ready, but that will cost you 15 bucks every month extra and you need a 2nd PC/laptop for it. Though if I would want the mount no matter what Id probably pay it. ^^
My "Invicible"/Moby Dick was the Pattern for the T5 chain belt. I farmed it until some month ago since Cata/Pandaria.

Farmed Invincible for 7 years on 4 different toons one a week on each.
Finally dropped, and I haven't set foot in ICC since.
Still farming invincible myself. Last year i showed my sister how to farm it aswell,
later she texted me asking if it was this mount i meant and that she got it on her 3rd attempt.
Same thing with the legendary bow in sunwell. I took her there showing what i farmed for and it drops for her on her first visit.

the fall achievement is actually quite easy to do. In the night elf starting area, the first big tree where all the NPCs are, has planks which go to the right side where you can jump off the spiral up-way thing. One of them has a jump that goes right between split roots which is slightly lower then other terrain. If you press jump, then aim forward into that spot - you'll get the achievement every time. I always did it for fun when I was experimenting with night elves.

God the invincible skit reminded me of my 900+ garrosh heroic kills (sometimes I just did a weekly clear on my plate characters, some days I'd run it 10x an hour by cheesing lockouts). Never obtained tusks....
It took me 10 years to get Invincible… I feel his pain. Oddly enough, a friend of mine got it on his first ever run. I was soo mad 😂

I wouldn't say so. When I compare FFXIV collecting to WoW I feel like FFXIV collecting actually gives you the light at the end of the tunnel while WoW just tries to see how far can they get away with abusing you.

That first sketch... I felt that. I may have never tried farming for the winged horsie, but in D3 I've been farming for over a decade to get that damned gibbering gemstone. It doesn't exist. It can't exist! Fuckin' hell I've wasted so many in game MONTHS trying to find the damned thing but IT JUST WON'T DROP! Heh. It doesn't exist. And the devs at Blizzard are monsters for making me think it ever did.

Holy Hell so spot on. For me, it was Rivendare's Deathcharger and...and Invincible. Oh god, I hated both Stratholme and Icecrown. I still do. Some friends want to do them for nostalgia and I literally go: "Haha, no." followed by internal screaming. And they wonder why I don't want to go to either.
I was just leveling an alt when Rivendare dropped, certainly wasn’t farming. Actually I didn’t even know it was rare at the time. No longer playing, but Captain Grim is worth watching.

I don't even play WoW (like, ever) and yet I connect with the pain you guys are going through. WoW certainly has lost its splendor, but it also paved the way for a lot of malpractice in the industry. And it keeps on giving.

I got that hand mount from the shadowlands first try from those world boss guys at the end of the event... Being a mount farmer who still hasn't gotten the lich king mount... I know the feeling of seeing someone else get it and I get frustrated since it's never dropped for me...but when I get things first try I feel bad but also thanking the Lord I don't have to do another farm for a mount xD
