As a main tank this is so true. DPS expect you to counter spell, heal, dps, and tank at the same time. Legit every dps has a counter spell but they are too busy pressing 1 😂😂
I used to kick DPS that refused to CC/Interrupt on the second refusal. If I was pugging I still ran with a guild healer and replacing DPS takes like 5 seconds. Once you remind people how replaceable they are and that they were waiting for over an hour for a tank...they get off their selfish behavior quickly normally.
it's actually not that much of a challenge, i used to main tank on my paladin and when it was a blood elf you had 3 interrupts, so that's not far fetched, Arcane Torrent, Avengers shield (i don't even know if it still interrupts it used to when i tanked), and paladins actual interrupt
Should have had a last scene where the tank quietly laughs to himself as he instantly gets a new group. Honestly though as a tank, I can confirm the struggle is real
My favorite is when the dps or even the healer runs ahead and pulls packs before you even get there. Then you have to scramble to take agro from the idiots before they get themselves killed. Or they pull the next pack/ boss while you’re still dealing with a group cause you apparently aren’t progressing fast enough.
This just had it all, the ridonkulusness, the drama, the suspense, betrayal, insane edits.. and my god did i laugh way too hard at the Dino jumping on the Tauren. Grim you're fucking amazing at this, keep it up!!!
I was just in a group yesterday, the tank said they were new to Retail. The healer spammed taunt on the first boss, blamed the tank, then refused to heal him. Later because the tank kept dieing, they vote kicked him for the reason "afk" (he was waiting for a rez, he even asked in chat), and my vote "no" got outnumbered. I made sure to whisper the tank after and explain that it absolutely was not his fault, and that this isn't the norm, but gosh dang that whole situation bothered me all day. The healer said they were new too, but considering they had tons of achievements and stuff (and heirloom achievements, but wasn't wearing heirlooms), and actually knew the dungeon mechanics, i'm 99% sure they're just queueing to troll.
It's not the norm, but this bullshit does happen, sometimes worse. And when it does, it sticks with you. Because you wouldn't think people this bad would have a superiority complex. But there they are, too ignorant to realize what actually caused the wipe.
1million percent the experience. Healers normally don't type for me though, they just rage quit or go afk. A buddy of mine just started playing wow and I tank for him. Yesterday he asks me, hey every class has an interrupt right? And I was like yeah pretty much. And he goes, well then why am I the only one interrupting. I just laughed for a minute straight. Sometimes these newbies can be better than you long term dps. Wish more of yall would learn to hold your weight so we can just get the shit done quicker.
Interrupts are fluff utility in retail these days retards are taught to ignore interrupts because low skill content doesn’t do enough damage to warrant using them Its not until you actually get into mid to high keys or mythic raids that casts chunk enough to require interrupting, just another game design failure thanks to blizz and their everyone’s a winner mantra
ah, the sweet tank experience. Healers that dont deal dmg and only heal (and less than my protopal). Dps that pulls ahead of tank and more than should and dont interrupt. And all of that is tank fault and they kick you and they wait half an hour for new one, while you insta queued for another
This exact thing 'literally' happened to me on day 2 of Shadowlands. 'Pro' players in a random dungeon expecting me on my first day of playing to have mastered everything, called me arrogant, kicked me from the group, and proceeded to insult me in whisper for the next two hours. xD
yup, had something similar happen in one of the Zul'dazar dungeons. Got feared into a group of mobs which wiped us and two of them literally interrogated me in and out of the dungeon. The exception was that I was a dps at the time. The thing is though, I've had instances like that and then I get times where the group is good and well mannered but most of the time I get a group of silent speedrunners that leave me in the dust
"The Monk Experience" was the first video I saw by you and I only recently realized it was you who made it. When the frog got kicked and floppily flew away was hilarious. 10/10 simulation of a tank. Never in my life have I had to ask myself so often; "what is my party doing?". Thanks for a good vid Captain Grim.
You describe my pain in 2:56 minutes. A minute of silence for all those tanks, and then you have people in mythics plus cursing why in 40 minutes there isn't a tank... #respectthetank
Love that at 1:05 even the mobs are turning with the tank going "really?" The fear pulling is also 100% accurate for that dungeon. Pretty sure i saw on Ony whelp get pulled in there once becaus the person ran so far.
Fun tank tips for never wiping: 1: Never trust your dps to pull! Their job is not to think, but to kill. 2: Remind your party of how valuable you are, by valiantly pulling and tanking every mob in the dungeon, no matter how small. 3: Fear is a fact of life. After pulling, Draw the enemies somewhere that takes the danger out of lesser builds fleeing for safety. If you completed step two, this is almost always behind you! 4: A DPS that causes too much aggro is a brash interloper, out of their element. Save your taunt for the next pull, and leave them to their fate. 5: OOM stands for 'Overwhelm Other Mobs' and is an invitation to pull again. Train your HP dispenser in proper mana management by giving them a challenge!
Captain Grim, I gotta say im sure im not the only but man, every single one of your videos is a gem, and im sure it takes or it seems to look it takes a lot of effort to make these, I dont think i have ever laughed a video on youtube as hard and often as everytime i watch one of your videos, cheers
When i used to tank (gave it up during early Legion after having put up with groups like this) every time i joined a group, i told them straight, at the start that i operated on one rule "you pull it, you tank it" i had a lot of dps (especially mages and hunters) giving me abuse over this, i'd make sure the rest of the group were okay, just not them, until they either wound their necks in and chilled the hell out, or left the team (usually left)
How can you create such perfection... I swear your videos are the ones I laugh the most with on the whole Internet. Thanks It was the decaying and despising “...noooooob” for me☠️☠️☠️

Rushing through normal dungeons while lvling for example, i dont see why you would have whole conversations there... But you may have some when making groups for m+ or something.
lol I play on EU and if someone joined my group and stayed completely silent, I'd probably kick them. Fortunately I've never had to do that yet :)
"Yes, the one you can't pause" Oh god, the memories! Any time my mom would ask me for a hand back in vanilla and I'd have to say "I can't right now, sorry!" and I'd get "Just pause it and come here" "But you can't pause it, mom! I'm the healer and they'll die I can't make the whole group stop for 20 minutes, that would just be rude! I got a responsibility here!"
I miss you, mom.
Me too.
I miss you, mom.^2
Nowadays you just have your wife telling you to pause
The priest’s slow turn was so funny
Every few months i randomly go back and binge all your content, please remember, I’m not the only one!
We love CaptainGrim!
I appreciate you. Thank you for the support and I'm glad you've enjoyed my stuff :) Means a lot!
@@CaptainGrim i only wish i could be involved as a “Derek” here or there lol
As a Warrior Tank this did hit harder right in the feels than my fury dps.
Great Video Grim!
Being healer is a lot worst... especially when the tank has a huge ego, beats his chest like a gorilla and pulls multiple packs.
@@vindico8231 Those DPS that ingnore mechanics and keep staying in fire
@@vindico8231 I've on more than one occasion been yelled at for not pulling enough/fast enough, cause I've built a level of patience for the healer to recover that tibetian monks would envy. [Tankadin]
@@vindico8231 yep i have encounter those on my resto druid lol, pretty much there is always an bad apple player that has a big ego in every specs one could encounter.
@@SteelDawn7 It's the mythic plus affixes that were the main problem for me as a healer... I remember this pally tank that pulled multiple packs even though I did say its not a good idea because of the Necrotic afflix.
“Mom, I’m playing that game again.... yes... the one you can’t pause...”
Lmfao
also going into a dungeon for the first time and everyone follows you cus youre the tank but you have no idea where youre going
That was me today.
My first char was a tank: exactly my experience in every dungeon
just watch a video about it on yt, unfortunately, its necessary because these days you have to be a pro immediately after you enter the dungeon
@@Pepegalord plus knowing a dungeon's mechanics helps a lot no matter the MMO.
you should queue dps in every dungeon first, the mechanics are very easy for a dps usually
The way the priest types out a few words at a time to fill up chat is too accurate
@@Nempo13 I used to do the same thing
I fucking hate dps players dude. Literally herd animals mentally.
it's actually not that much of a challenge, i used to main tank on my paladin and when it was a blood elf you had 3 interrupts, so that's not far fetched, Arcane Torrent, Avengers shield (i don't even know if it still interrupts it used to when i tanked), and paladins actual interrupt
@@stankobarabata2406 Herd animals have the decency to be herdable, DPS players are like chickens with brain damage
1:48 That sudden change of animation speed/clarity cought me off guard... its great
0:37 LOL huntard spinning in place and healer spamming heals on himself, what is this a M+2?
I see this shit in M+18 pug groups too. Everyone that was decent seems to have quit until SL.
@@SirSquaggles SL is out, I think they might have just died.
Pugging mythics. This is fine....
Seriously find a nice guild, then find the guildies that aren't sluggish and fit into your schedule.
Grim you're fucking amazing at this, keep it up!!!
thanks Cat! I'm glad you liked it :)
Don't tell me this scenario is actually a realistic depiction of one of your dungeon raids, please don't.
its pretty accurate to most pugs tbh.
Could be... on a lesser scale... :)
I've been in worse... T______T
The healer healing himself instead of tank at the start had me creased.
"Yes, the one you can't pause" that hit too close to home
"mom, I've been playing that game again, the one you can't pause"
That is such a relatable line you have no idea..
The animations for when they got pummeled were sweet as honey. jokes aside, love your vids so keep em going :)
The part where they get feared is so true...
ah, the sweet tank experience. Healers that dont deal dmg and only heal (and less than my protopal). Dps that pulls ahead of tank and more than should and dont interrupt. And all of that is tank fault and they kick you and they wait half an hour for new one, while you insta queued for another
The you have been removed from the group at the end was the cherry on top. Hilarious.
"the one you cant pause" soooo good
"The Monk Experience" was the first video I saw by you and I only recently realized it was you who made it. My favorite part about finding new WoW machinima makers is watching them get better and better with every video. I absolutely love how over-the-top your animation style has become and how much it's improved over the years. Your videos have become some of my favorite WoW-related machinimas and I look forward to everything you put out through Shadowlands! :)
i got kicked from my last group because two of the dps were just aimlessly walking around, aggroed 2 separate groups, we wipe. grp immediately turned on me and raaaaggged lol tanklyfe
This was absolutely hilarious !! def earned that sub !
That guy yelling tank noob as he is dying is just priceless 😂😭
how has it taken me this long for this to pop up on my feed, youtube has robbed me
"You know, the one you can't pause"
Oh my god this brought me back some painful memories.
When the frog got kicked and floppily flew away was hilarious. 10/10 simulation of a tank. Never in my life have I had to ask myself so often; "what is my party doing?". Thanks for a good vid Captain Grim.
Pretentious healers are the worst I’ve had a guy just decide not to heal me because I pulled a group a didn’t know I could skip
Not to forget the voidless stress the healer is feeling incompetent for not being able to outheal that damage.
Can't believe someone made this documentary about my life.
god i love everything that went into this and the jokes in this one are amazing! great work as always Grim!
It would be good if they were jokes. They are real sadly.
The amount of effort put in the animation makes it a thousand times funnier, great job!
The quality of your videos just keeps getting better and better with every upload. Love it.
Thanks! I'm happy you like it :)

Fun tank tips for never wiping:
1: Never trust your dps to pull!
Train your HP dispenser in proper mana management by giving them a challenge!
the healer crying and typing in chat instead of healing is the most accurate thing ive ever seen
Captain Grim, I gotta say im sure im not the only but man, every single one of your videos is a gem, and im sure it takes or it seems to look it takes a lot of effort to make these, I dont think i have ever laughed a video on youtube as hard and often as everytime i watch one of your videos, cheers
really appreciate the message, thanks
That's some sick animation there wtf?! Well done. The struggle of tanks is real.
Dude i called that "tank noob" so perfectly :D
best moment of the video! :))
As a tank I have strong position here: if I see that I leave IMMEDEATELY
The International Brotherhood of Tanks offer support in these trying times.
Tanks quick queue. Healers are so common now that its usually a 5 minute+ wait for them.
When i used to tank (gave it up during early Legion after having put up with groups like this) every time i joined a group, i told them straight, at the start that i operated on one rule "you pull it, you tank it"
i had a lot of dps (especially mages and hunters) giving me abuse over this, i'd make sure the rest of the group were okay, just not them, until they either wound their necks in and chilled the hell out, or left the team (usually left)
That feign death timing is so SPECIFIC
How can you create such perfection... I swear your videos are the ones I laugh the most with on the whole Internet. Thanks
It was the decaying and despising “...noooooob” for me☠️☠️☠️
I play as a tank and I know this situation very well. Thanks for making a video for all the tanks.
As a tank. This hit me very personally T.T
I legit feel sorry for this tank. His facial expressions! 🥺
