Don't worry guys, as the professional WoW Lore youtuber that I am, I am here to give you a nice little rundown of the vanilla story. You're welcome. As payment feel free to subscribe, share and Super thanks the video or whatever 😤😤😤
“…if you think about it…” I don’t have to think about it; I’ve been wondering why since the beginning lmao yet here we are doing it now and we’ll HECKIN DO IT AGAIN… 😅😂
The key difference is we weren't any chosen ones or what ever back then. We were hired thugs, that decided to band together to go into the big scary place and kill shit.
I think my favorite part of Captain Grim videos is how recognizable the player characters are. I recognized the dwarf priest who had everyone including the boss cheering him on to walk out of the fire, the night elf warrior who caused a wipe because he popped all cooldowms to top the meters, the troll priest who got his world buffs dispelled in Blackrock Mountain by the bald night elf priest, the female tauren warrior who ran off crying because the undead Warlock who's also present yelled at her for wanting to roll on the axe when she isn't an orc, the orc hunter and his pet who was patient zero for the Hakkar blood plague, and the undead mage who got saved by that orc warrior in the Barrens and then found him later and tried to return the favor but they both got beat up.
The warrior who kill grey people in "strugling of playing classic" is here, the war who take aggro of onixya is hereand the woman war as well, the paladin i don't remember witch clip, the demo who yell on she tauren is here, the rogue who distract the war is here
There's a continuation error tho: In the AQ, Themilk, the female tauren warrior who quit the guild during BWL after receiving constructive critcism from the Guild Leader about not getting an axe, because orcs have axe specialization, is still there. She shouldn't ovbviously since she quit the guild.
This right here is dedication to a creator and his videos, I’ve been watching for I don’t even know how long and didn’t make that realization lol. Good eyes!

Yeah, Vanilla "story" was like this. But I think that was its' strong point. It made every raid a unique story and every boss kill felt like you've accomplished something. You got many adventures. Contrast later expansions, where everything is a part of some schmucks master plan.
It's the best because it felt like a real enough world that would logically have more than one thing going on at a time. Expansions gravitated more and more towards the theme park style where you're just going for 1 specific ride and everything has to relate to the main theme of the ride.
@@AdriatheBwitch some of us were born with imaginations, I dunno my dude. A story having less fleshed out or unexplained/mysterious things, or mercurial motivations doesnt automatically make it bad. Tolkien wrote arguably the first and to this day the best high fantasy epic, and built a detailed whole world down to the languages, and yet there are so, so many things which arent fleshed out to the reader, even in the posthumously published notes, that the reader can only speculate about and use their imagination to fill out those parts of the world and narrative themselves. Yet that doesnt make the work he produced worse, arguably it makes it better. The same way with WoW. Those bosses did have storylines, some pretty extensive (onyxia being the most fleshed out on the alliance side), but yet every one of them isnt excruciatingly detailed nor do they have multiple cinematics of main characters throwing exposition at you explaining why they're doing what they're doing and why you have to help/stop them. Nor was the story and big bads introduced to you at the very beginning of the game or through a launch/patch cinematic, and contant in-game npc reminders about them or how important you are, the savior of the alliance/horde etc. Modern wow storytelling is lazy and tedious, and completely broken and disjointed if youre leveling up or new to the game (or even if youre a veteran player, its still almost incomprehensible).
I actually think this was a strong point of vanilla, a bunch of different factions popping up all around azeroth to do their own thing, it actually felt like a world.
I feel like in earlier versions of the game, these big raid bosses were threats that were already there causing problems. And you amongst many Adventurers just became strong enough to finally deal with it. Versus in later expacs it just became one big world ending threat from left field over and over.
