Personally, I gotta say I've never been the biggest Hardcore/Ironman challenge enthusiast! I guess I just get too attached to my characters but also usually barely pay attention to my screen when playing. But I have to say, some of the things I've seen players go through during the trend of hardcore through Classic WoW, have been hilarious.
Personally, I've played a bit myself and the first issue I ran into was the layers phasing around me while in areas full of hostile mobs. Like WHAT?!?!!? That's so ridiculous but I found it pretty silly. And also the whole thing with opposing faction players trying to trick people into attacking them/their pets in various ways so they get flagged for PvP and then killed is.... chef's kiss. Perfection. Stuff like that have to be my favourite things in a game such as WoW, so I just thought I had to include that into a video of mine somewhere.

Honestly, I wasn't planning on making a video about the Hardcore scene, but seeing players tricking opposing faction people into attacking them by roleplaying as quest NPCs and such was hilarious. I just had to include it somewhere lol

I'll be honest I first thoughts on this whole "hardcore" mode was along lines of " Oh are they adding a hunger and thirst system so cooking has an active role along with fishing?"

My first attempt on classic and ended up going to Skull Rock at lvl 13 as a shaman. I went in, saw so many dead bodies. Instantly nervous. Considered walking out but I really wanted my fire totem so I continued. After a bit I decided, since I’m already here I might as well kill that orc warlock for the RFC quest. Why do I do things?

I remember back in the day, someone kite the demon boss Lord Kazzak all the way to Stormwind and it camped at the gate killing all the low level players. The flying purple skulls killing everyone from afar and people hoping that the NPC guards can kill it.
So many skeletons as far my eye can see. I am glad I was apart of game history.

It's a difficulty setting, like with any game people like to try and 'beat it' on a harder difficulty.
Been playing a long time. This wasn’t toxic in my experience back when. This came with a new gen of enjoyer and less and less restrictions to accountability. When you could group no matter what versus server rep really started the “shine time” of pure toxicity in my experience. 🤷♂️

This is why I make sure to buff everyone with fortitude, 30-80 extra hp can save someone’s life
It really does! The other day I was running on the road in duskwood. A kind priest gives me fortitude and cheers at me. As I’m saying to myself “what a nice lad, all of a sudden 4 lvl 25 spiders come from the woodworks. I pop my potion and run for dear life. With 12 HP to spare. That priest saved me.
Died three hours later to Lieutenant Fangore.

I like the thought of hardcore leveling and playing a more difficult way, but the whole deleting a toon after first death is what stops me doing it. I'm not wasting my time.

Seeing classic hardcore had me confused about the hype, but I have been enjoying the hardcore challenge's on ascension. Having to drink and eat, and only gaining XP through professions while having only one life, now that that's the pain I love.

Imagine that hunter's commitment to the bit to actually level a plainstrider pet in Classic.
Derek was me as a noob mage in 2006 when I took on the "Agamand Crypt" quest and tried to do it on my own. The zombies in there respawned by the second and to this day I have never feared a quest more!
You put more effort into your videos regarding WoW than what I've seen on other channels.
I love that when Derik hits the mob it instantly does the parry noise hahahahahah can't even do damage 🤣🤣

As silly as it may be, What I love about the Hardcore scene is simply people are loving and playing the game in a beautiful and fun way. Sure its a challenge but that's why you do it. I would love to see official Hardcore one day where blizzard keeps track of heroes who succeed and such.

Volchan getting to Northshire is really difficult, as the guards are 60 and will actually kill him.
Everything else is pretty accurate, you got me with 'Bigturkey'.
