I love Rener's enthusiasm. If you watch many videos with him in them, you will notice that has gets really excited about what most would deem mundane. I appreciate how he enjoys all things. If you are not excited about something, find something.
Rener's video's show his personality as being a funny, sarcastic but down to earth guy. I met him at a seminar at the martial arts academy I train at last year. He really is an awesome guy, after the seminar, all of us that train at that school, the instructor and Rener went out to eat, it was pretty awesome.
This information is absolutely mind blowing. No joke. I thought all along the crazy tying on one side is the proper way all along! It's not until this day, watching this very video that I learn the proper way to tie the pants. And count it, 3 different techniques to get the rope in the right position. Thank you Master Rener!
Very entertaining and enlightening. Thank you for this. As I am in my first week of training I can now move forward with knowledge of a professional without suffering years of ignorance.
DUDE, there's a video for this?! YES. I've had annoying gi pants with one string barely out one side for MONTHS. Rener, I love you so much. You don't even know.
That last secret technique was my very 1st thought of how to fix it. You were talking about wire hangers and safety pins and I'm like no just pull the good string out farther, tie the bad end to it and pull it through. As I was typing I saw you finally did that at the end.
FRIGGIN HILARIOUS ! and always with the enthusiasm and sort of an alarmed disposition to keep everybody watching from even blinking :)) thank you, rener, u are THE MAIN MAN! thanks the gracie family for existing!
Just found this video today and unbelievable the string came out of my gi bottoms used the last secret to fix my bottoms and everyone was amazed cause they never seen gi bottoms fixed thatb wat. THANK YOU RENER! and thank you the Gracies
your videos are very entertaining and informative. I know the methods but never thought other junior karateka's might be having a problem with the string and are having a hard time fixing it. Thanks . I will be sure to share your vid with the class.
Rener, if you every decide to leave GJJ, you can always get a career in infomercials. "We have a wire hanger. Literally a wire hanger. Open it up and straighten it out and look what we got, a wire hanger." LMAO This is so fricking insightful I can't believe it! All jokes aside. Your excitment is enviable. Mahalo for that.
Renner seems like the kind of guy that would have a hard time disciplining people on the mat because he's so nice. He's like a big kid, the kind of guy that just wants to make BJJ fun and hang out with his buds on the mat. I'd love to train with this guy. And his verbal eloquence in teaching is unequaled.
Well...it all makes sense to me now...I swear I have seen this room and couch before....I think there has been a lot of casting on it. I am sure of it.
I had this problem after my very first BJJ lesson... I'm proud to say that after a moment of thought I came up with the wire hanger technique independently. Good video though.
Omg, that's awesome.I use the wire hanger normally. But some guys at my gym are having this problems, so I can impress them all by showing the last gracie secret.
i give props to Rorion's sons. They seem very well adjusted and friendly compared to other people with comparable skills. Being a blackbelt at a young age can easily turn a young man into a trouble-seeking individual, but Rener, Ryron and Ralek seem really cool. (At least from watching their videos, I don't know them.)
What do people normally do? We'll, if you fix things and, like tools, you know about the flexible grabbing tool. I always take out the strings before I wash and, the tool makes it easy to pull those strings through. Originally, I used a wire hanger, but when I saw my grabbing tool, epiphany! I've never had any problem with the strings catching on each other since I've been doing this.
Lol, I admit I'm not the largest fan of Gracie/Brazilian Jujutsu, but I do respect it as an art. But this guy is awesome. I've been in Karate for 12 years and never had this problem with my Gi pants.
rofl the people that don't know about this happen to them will think this is a joke but this is the best technique i ever watched on youtube since the fold a shirt in 1 second
thats very cool using the knot to make a pull line. maybe there is a way to make very flat knot so it slips through easy and is easy to undo. each time i wash my gi I pull out that string so the pants can tumble better for a deeper clean. with practice it just takes me a few minutes to feed it back through before I head to class. use a pen and two short pieces of tape (one for each flat side) and a third shorter tape looping around to bind the circumference. feed the pen through, done deal
Popo Sensei There is a good chance, but not necessarily. But the heat may damage the rubber/foam in the collar, and reduce the over all life of the gi.
rener, i think you should have a video on "HOW TO TEACH"...period If my jiu jitsu teacher, my school professor, or anyone else whoever taught me to do anything, can teach like you.....OMG I'll be a genius right now. Just kidding, i would just learn stuff alot faster and actually WANNA learn.
hahaha, rener you are awesome. however, i have one for you.... what if you have a string that breaks???? i have had that happen before, and im forever stuck with a weird side bundle on that particular pair of pants.
I love Rener's enthusiasm. If you watch many videos with him in them, you will notice that has gets really excited about what most would deem mundane. I appreciate how he enjoys all things. If you are not excited about something, find something.
It's genius like this that landed us on the moon.
uhhh we never landed there.
Are... Are you joking?
Tazzak:)
Is genius like this that let us KEEP our Pants .
This has got to be one of the best secrets I have ever learned. No joke!
at 4:30 "Keep jiggling and wiggling." Good string pull-through advice, as well as mount escape.
Leave it to a Gracie to teach restringing pants the same way he teaches passing guard
What other way is there? 🙂
Rener has a technique for EVERYTHING! His Renergy and enthusiasm is contagious. Thank you sir!
This guy pulled a wire hangar from his gi im dead LOL
RIP
Rener's video's show his personality as being a funny, sarcastic but down to earth guy. I met him at a seminar at the martial arts academy I train at last year. How can you not love this guy. I'm a grown man watching another grown man restring his pants.
life changing
how can you not love this guy?!
He might be enjoying that last part a little too much
😂
I don't know anything about jiu jitsu or who Rener is, but how he gets so enthusiastic about gi strings is beyond me.
DUDE, there's a video for this?! YES. I've had annoying gi pants with one string barely out one side for MONTHS. Rener, I love you so much. You don't even know.
Thanks Rener that helped.
That last secret technique was my very 1st thought of how to fix it. You were talking about wire hangers and safety pins and I'm like no just pull the good string out farther, tie the bad end to it and pull it through. As I was typing I saw you finally did that at the end.
"secrets" and useful life tips are often reside in the most simple things
I never saw somebody so happy to be pulling on some string. Rener is the man.
Thank You Mr Rener Gracie!

@awakenedbeing I thought the exact same thing. His enthusiasm is unparalleled. He is very charismatic, and a great teacher.
Friggin Rener! You Gracies always suprise me! You're so animated it made me laugh too. God bless you Gracies!
Rener should teach cub scouts or something kids would love this
I had already stumbled upon most of these on my own, but I still think it's an extremely cool subject for a "how to" video.
Thank you Jocko Podcast ep 399!
Just found this video today and unbelievable the string came out of my gi bottoms used the last secret to fix my bottoms and everyone was amazed cause they never seen gi bottoms fixed thatb wat. THANK YOU RENER! and thank you the Gracies

I got caught in the strings guard :(

Forget about Rickson. Rener is the best Gracie by far! So much fun.
Rickson? dude, they aren't even the same generation.
Thank you for this crucial information…
Dude, you're hilarious! Gotta be a blast to train with. Keep up the very informative everyday life videos!
That third one was brilliant.

This is a true Gracie Secret. I never seen the last method before and it makes the most sense. lol. excellent rener.!
thanks so much for posting..
thank you so much!
*note to self: Put wire hanger in gi. Check.
I can't wait to use that wire hanger for a couple of submissions!
Thanks! I used the knot method today when I got to class.
Great video. Thanks!
Muito Obrigado Rener Y Familia.
Well...it all makes sense to me now...I swear I have seen this room and couch before....I think there has been a lot of casting on it. I am sure of it.
With Gracie power, comes Gracie responsibility!
I had this problem after my very first BJJ lesson...
I'm proud to say that after a moment of thought I came up with the wire hanger technique independently.
Good video though.
I loved this so much 😂
Omg, that's awesome.I use the wire hanger normally. But some guys at my gym are having this problems, so I can impress them all by showing the last gracie secret.
Rener is awesome!!!
Pay it forward!!!!!
Rener for President!!!!!
I laughed when you took that wired hanger out from your back! xDD
i give props to Rorion's sons. They seem very well adjusted and friendly compared to other people with comparable skills. WOW, that was so cool!
Sooo i should not keep a wire hanger in my gi while i train???
JPeezey
Stop watching technique videos on youtube man.
Gracie Casting Couch.
The BJJ BJ.
This helps so much but one thing, he calls the knot a "he" then after he says "look at her go through"
What gender is the knot?
Probably transgender
You can’t assume gender anymore lol
Great video! I was able to fix my gi pants thanks for the secrets. My solutions was to wear messed up gi pants until I buy a new one.
Lol, I admit I'm not the largest fan of Gracie/Brazilian Jujutsu, but I do respect it as an art. But this guy is awesome. I've been in Karate for 12 years and never had this problem with my Gi pants.
lol i think you were more excited about this than any technique video 😂😂
it's fun to hear him. He's kind of funny
that couch... guys will know what im talking about lmao
As an electrician, I pull wire daily. These techniques were kinda obvious to me. But still a good watch !
Love these videos, I'm totally howling with laughter, fantastic.. bahahahahaaaa
" am i going to fast for you? rewind the video, watch it again this is serious i have to go " lol
This is serious
Awesome !!
this guys is genious!
@ricktkd69 The wire technique was the insider technique, 'the easiest and most common technique'; the last technique was the secret one.
Knowledge is power!!
rofl the people that don't know about this happen to them will think this is a joke but this is the best technique i ever watched on youtube since the fold a shirt in 1 second
You should put this in the Gracie Combative Set! LoL
i have been using the 2nd technique long time ago
I have a slight variation which i like to use, tie your pant strings to the loop OR tie them as if you are wearing them before you wash!
thats very cool using the knot to make a pull line. maybe there is a way to make very flat knot so it slips through easy and is easy to undo.

Would my gi shrink if i put it in the dryer after washing.
Popo Sensei There is a good chance, but not necessarily. But the heat may damage the rubber/foam in the collar, and reduce the over all life of the gi.
rener, i think you should have a video on "HOW TO TEACH"...period
If my jiu jitsu teacher, my school professor, or anyone else whoever taught me to do anything, can teach like you.....OMG I'll be a genius right now. Just kidding, i would just learn stuff alot faster and actually WANNA learn.
Cool, now I dont have to use rope any more, LOL
Ignoring this critical info could be seen as an insult. Men have died for less!
"Always train with a coat hanger in your gi" Last last Gracie secret.
hahaha, rener you are awesome. however, i have one for you.... what if you have a string that breaks???? i have had that happen before, and im forever stuck with a weird side bundle on that particular pair of pants.
There are at least three places in Belfast.
You have a gift my friend
his father is actually a 9th dan, he's 4th, and his older brother Ryron is a 6th degree
Me and Rener have two different ideas when it come to 3rd arms.
That, is awesome.
this is very helpful. even if one doesn't grapple with a gi.
Awesome.
Lmfao he's so happy
lol i guessed that secret as soon as he showed the problem. good times indeed.
HAHA!! Wire hanger I use that secret Gracie technique all the time!
man you have way too much energy dude! he should have done this After jiu jitsu class
How do we fix this? There are 3 ways! 3 ways! lol I love their videos.
Fun. Funny. Enjoyed.
Haha johnson3012, i agree. Rener ur great. good teacher good stuff. love the enthusiasm
