    Our coach often has us do shoulder walks for warmup, but I never quite understood the practical application. But now I do!

    Thank you this was what I was missing from my triangle attempts

    Thanks, I guess I just wasn't thinking last night. I'll keep training for my blue belt. lol I gotta start somewhere. I bought the combatives dvds and am on lesson 10 now, the triangle. When I am on a lesson I always do as much research about it as I can also through any other Gracie videos(Gracie only) online and take notes.

    I wonder when/if framing your arms against your knees would come into play or add to this technique a la Renzo Gracie? I saw Ralek Gracie show this in another video. Excellent technique. Been loving Gracie Jiu Jitsu since about 1989 or 1990. I used to see these guys walk around the academy as really little kids. I'm very happy to see their passion for this effective art.

    I love this guy and totally respect him, but I love the way he talks even more haha.
    "My HEAD even gets involved - my head joins the party"
    "Your dreams will be shattered!"
    "*trying to make an analogy to being trapped under a mountain or a car or something*"
    hahaha

    Thanks for this video. I been catching people with the triangle (due to my long skinny legs), but is unable to finish. Hopefully, I can apply the tip(s) from this video to my technique next time I roll.

    so just curious, what happens when you run into a wall and can't shoulder walk any more or you start out up against a wall? then what do you do if he tries to stak u? not trying to be stupid, just curious.

    i like you Rener Gracie. you made me interested in jiu jitsu. i have been adding it into my local martial art , but i have a question: "is there a great chance that some one can bite you in the process regarding street fight", if yes don't you think its dangerous to end up on the ground.

    • @azimmorganam
      @azimmorganam 7 лет назад +3

      SuperKingKong the whole idea of jiu jitsu is to immobilise, exhaust and control your opponent or adversary.. if youre controlling someone and they can bite you.. youre not controlling them. trust the techniques and respect mechanical advantage and leverage rather than relying on brute strength.. go into a dojo and challenge a black belt.. let him agree to you being able to do ANYTHING biting included.. i promise you youll be asleep before you can bite on anything friend. good luck and dont stop training no matter what.. no doubts = no regrets. trust the techniques and they will reward you

    • @ootsam
      @ootsam 7 лет назад +1

      SuperKingKong I was showing triangle to a friend who has a Kuk Sool black belt and she bit the hell out of my thigh. I instinctively prepared to drop north-south elbows, and realized that there would be no defense. I let her win though and feel like a gnaw-ninja.

    I concur. So many people are still caught up in the whole "multiple attacker" fallacy that they live in delusions of the din mak and other one hit death strikes. The fact is if three, four, five, shoot even two guys want to jack you you're in trouble no matter what "din mak" you know.

  • @Danedog614
    @Danedog614 15 лет назад

    Well...I can say that BJJ would work in a street fight...but only a 1 on 1 and the right conditions. In a normal fight, there are multiple people, or it's on concrete or something similar, in which case you prolly wouldn't want to go for throws/ground fighting...solutions??? Train BJJ AND Muy Thai! :P But These guys still rock no matter what, & chokin people is serious business by the way!

    @lagalagallama :
    Seriously. You are deluded to think that you can fight more than one dude at a time. Perhaps if it is a total drunkard. Or a slapping teenager. But in truth a grown man attacking you with all his strength and agression. ... Nah. Ive been in those situations and believe me... No art in the world can prepare you for a multiple attack situation. All you have is (basically) right handers to each one as they come in. If you miss... forget it.

    Im fed up hearing about how BJJ is no use for the street and how its only good for 1 opponent. Show me a practical art that is any good against more than 1 guy. Not 1. What, Judo? or Boxing , Maybe Kickboxing....EVEN THAI.. What am I going to do a Bas Rutten splits kick and punch forward and back at the same time against 4 guys. Get real, if any of you have been in or seen real fights then you will know how practical BJJ is. No unarmed martial art is good against multiple attackers.
