Roys been top shelf for a long time i remember seeing him give jj machado a handful back in the 90'S which was unheard of for an American of any time. Love that hes still going and growing the network TTT for sure
Thank you much Mr Dean. Has a 34 year veteran in MA, you have reminded me to stay humble, know and remember where your lineage comes from and treasure it🙏. On a side note and it has to be said: In the JJ community, also trending in other MA, 80-90 percent almost have no idea what , your are describing, feeling , or want to share loyalty and respect. Thank you once again. OSS
I have had two private lessons with Roy Harris. You have to feel it to believe it. I am an older guy and he never really put his full pressure on me. I'm under Jason Lambert. Thanks!
I attended one of his seminars and he taught the stack pass, it was amazing. I am very fortunate to be able to train in this lineage. That's my instructor at 1:27. Those leg kicks are no joke let me tell you 😂
I really like this video! Love your humbleness, appreciation and growth mentality. The teacher that will always be the student of the art. So grateful for our connection Roy. See you in April!
I'm a big fan of your work. you talk about how Mr Harris consistently gets past your defenses and wins. Do you think another part of the secret is to learn how to read the moment? every move has it's place in the art, but not every move can be applied in all moments. Just like Judo, timing (reading the moment) is the difference between missing a throw and Ippon. while groundwork happens at a different pace, reading your opponent's moves to apply exactly the right counter-move at the right time is the difference between using up all of your strength and slipping into the move like your opponent was helping you to get the new position or submission. thanks for the video.
As I get older and have to take things out of my game, amazingly my game improves. And then I wish I had removed it before when I still could do the thing I took out, because having both options would be even better. As a teacher I think we owe it to the younger guys to give them handicaps.
Mr. Dean, I was as student in the Chuck Norris System (UFAF) and earned black belt ranking. I progressed to Gracie Jiujitsu at a certified academy where self defense against any sized opponent is stressed. You videos have provided many lessons to me and even though we have never met, I consider you a mentor. There is always wisdom in your uploads that makes me better. Thanks😊
im 54 and started my jiu jitsu journey six month ago and i went full on 5 times a week and i just cant get enough i should have started years ago the black belt we have is about my age i watch more and do privates for my age its a hobbie however i want the smooth strategy
My coach and I spent over 37 hours traveling from Australia to train with Mr Harris for two days. He is a wonderful human being and a fantastic teacher. Highly recommended!
Stack passing my bread and butter. As a bigger guy, almost everyone pulls guard. I do the exact same thing. I feed a triangle, then smash through to side control.
"I'm almost 50! It's ok, we're dealing with it." ....!!!! Im cracking up. Yup, we're dealing with that over here too :-). Must be going around or something.
As a retired 0 stripe white belt, I can only admire what folks can accomplish. I loved my time on the mat but I had to stop b/c what little I learned completely left me and I kept getting injured. Honestly I don't even think I deserve to claim I am a white belt.
I’d suggest finding a dojo that focuses on white belt foundational development with lots of drills vs. live rolling…this will preserve the body, mind, and spirit
What was the music during the private lesson? Bach? Scarlatti? I thought it was the perfect fit for what jiu-jitsu is. Studying Bach's music is like a never-ending path that you never will fully understand, much like jiu-jutsu. Loved Episode 2. This was waiting for me after our BJJ class this morning; it was the perfect post-workout inspiration. Thank you, Sensei.
You will not understand until you have felt Mr Harris. Absolutely amazing BJJ
Mr Harris has the smoothest, most refined and efficient Jiu-Jitsu I've ever seen.
Roys been top shelf for a long time i remember seeing him give jj machado a handful back in the 90'S which was unheard of for an American of any time. Love that hes still going and growing the network TTT for sure
I’m a 43 yr old white belt and glad I’m on this journey
Thank you much Mr Dean.

Well said. I am a 37 year veteran in martial arts & a 15 year veteran in BJJ. I agree with what you said.
You will keep learning Mr. Dean. Don't quit and never give up.

Thank you for sharing, Professor. All the best from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada and the Scholars' BJJ team :)

hey roy, where can I train with you?
Ronin family with love ❤️😁🤟🏻

When did Mr. Harris first receive his BJJ Black belt?
Stack passing my bread and butter. As a bigger guy, almost everyone pulls guard. I do the exact same thing. I feed a triangle, then smash through to side control.
Roy, would you ever want to go scuba diving sometime?
I ask because you are near San Diego and I dive Laguna.
That's very cool! I've never been, but am open to adventure. 🙏@@DiverPilot

Maestro! Yes, it was the Goldberg Variations 2 by Bach. I thought it was perfect for the segment. It is always a study. Stay tuned for more. :)
@@roydean Love it and yes, perfect for that segment. Looking forward to more.
