Roy Dean is on my bucket list of people to train with.
He's on our Bucketlist of greats we wanna make a video on
I made that decision years ago and haven’t looked back. Highly recommended.👊
I love the belt promotion videos. Peter’s crucible was the first one I saw. I have watched it so many times when I need some inspiration.
@@mikutajj Are you the brown belt in this video?
Peter is one of the most fluid JiuJitsu players I’ve had the pleasure to roll with. He’s one of Byron’s students and is as tough as nails.
Love seeing Jocko’s “discipline equals freedom” on the GI
I know that uke and I've never been able to pass his guard that easily! Thanks for the tips Professor!
First hip pin pass may work no gi but uke isn’t trying to strip your grips w his hands to get his feet on your biceps. No way will this wirk on some kids in my academy at marcelo Garcias.
The wheeze that came from the brown belt during that butterfly pass is a clear indicator of the amount of PRESSURE thats in that pass
Man the way he explains what he is doing it leaves no no other questions in my mind excellent
The wisdom in 10 minutes is mind-blowing. Excellent video - thank you for sharing.
10 years from now I want a blackbelt crucible and belt promotion from roy
This was an awesome seminar. I am very thankful of Professor Dean and the whole Crew for their hospitality.
My new Jiu-Jitsu hero!
Sensei Dean is one of three of like four grain with. There’s no bucket list. Great video Dean -san. I’m
looking good, and also love the art on the wall
Awesome Mr Dean
Big thanks from France
This is gold
Absolutely beautiful. I see this harmonious convergence of details amongst the old school thought leaders in BJJ. I see Roy Dean point something out, and it triggers a memory of seeing Carlos Machado do the same thing... and it's reminiscent of something I saw Pedro Sauer do... and then Roy Dean mentions Relson showing him a thing... So few BJJ schools are truly systematic in their thinking, but this kind of stuff is where the system emerges.
The background pic is awesome
One of the most articulate professors in the game!
Big UP from France 👍👍👍
Roy turned in to a demon at 3:39 lol
Excellent information. Thank you very much.
Great stuff bro.
such a good instructor, technical precision in his explanation....
Thank you professor
Competence ! Wonderful way of explaining things. Oss
What a great teacher. My first video. You have earned a lifelong sub. Thankyou sir.
Great work!!!!!
Love it.
Badass intro
Professor Roy Dean is putting on the pressure with that shoulder, you can see it in the brown belt's face. LOL I bet he feels like a 2 tons. It doesn't even look like he's trying in the demonstration 😀
Nice details!!
He is a great teacher. To the point and real good fine points.
Great technique! Been following you form white belt, I'm a black belt now and I just learned something new from this video! Thanks!
When people pass my guard like that I hit my favorite sweep, the top shoulder roll.
So strange, I’ve been looking for standing guard pass videos all week and nothing good. Now this pops up! Thank you for your help.
It knows you're looking 👀
Amazing details! Thanks for taking the time to film this Roy!
His style makes more and more sense the older that I get. Great details.
Glad to see you doing instructional again brother!
Curious how well the butterfly pass works nogi.
Nice 💪❤
Nice video! Found it very helpful👍🏻
Every school teaches this differently. Maybe my instructor knows this too, but he never showed this in front of the class.
nice gi
I try this pass all the time on my instructor and he always gets my sleeves and a foot in my bicep and then I can't pass. How do you get around that?
Hi sir , how to escape Khabib's double leg lock ??
you dont drop the knee, the shoulder comes first
wont the bottom guy just grab your lapel or a sleeve
as youre trying to pass and pull you in and get hooks in?
I keep getting guillotined when I try that butterfly guard pass. Anyone got any ideas?
What if he starts attacking the collar or neck grips
Oss
Hi Rory dean I am mosa from GAZA pLaying jujitsu brown
Hey man respect for you for reaching brown belt in those condition keep it up ...Salam from Algeria
Anyone knows the intro/outro song?
Galvao pass
Roy Thank you for the awesome videos, how would Pass when securing the belt is not an option in no GI @8:30 thank you !
That origin gi is dead sexy
You lead in with your head like that a higher belt will sweep you and you end up on your back.
Do one where the person is starting on their butt, not their back
I need to get my ass to Memphis. Gotta meet this gentleman that can kill people.
It's impossible to no tap like
The partner not getting grips whatsoever makes it completely unrealistic
In a speed passing situation you would need them to not get grips, id reccomend looking up tips om dealing with the grips
So true
Roy Dean is on my bucket 🪣 list to tap out, jk :D
I have short legs!!!
I have short arms...certified T-Rex
Roy disappeared...
Next time change the guy, because his face expressions are annoying when you try to show us a move !! It’s like he is giving birth or something
This whole thing with the guard passing is silly to me. Because in a self defense situation I could care less, I would disengage or kick the guy in the kahoonas and walk away and let the guy lay there on the ground like a baffoon with his legs spread eagle! Same in a sport situation, if I'm in someone's guard they don't necessarily have the advantage. I'm not going to lay there and try to do all of that ridiculous maneuvering. A lot of these newer BJJ guys have lost the art of efficiency with too much bs!! Moving someone's legs out of the way is not that freakin hard, come on!!
Go to a BJJ gym and try then
Try then...
