There are actually a lot of ideas he didn't reject, for better or worse. Super Mario Odyssey is by all accounts a pretty big compromise between him and Koizumi, like having more story than a typical Mario game (if only a bit), having it eventually become open world through the use of portals, and not kicking the player to a hub world/map/menu every time a Moon is collected.
But this is the guy's first major success at Nintendo, so it's not really a big surprise to me that he'd be a little possessive. He's certainly not the only or even worst offender when it comes to this sort of thing.

    • @megasoniczxx
      @megasoniczxx 3 года назад +17

@@OtakuUnitedStudio True, I just find it a little funny how a lot of the development history I hear about him is mostly someone pitching an idea and then it firmly getting rejected for one reason or another. It probably isn't a bad thing since the series has still been running great up until now and, like you said, he did loosen up the reins with Koizumi.
That said, it definitely reduces the chances of my dream Bowser character action game ever happening complete with lots of WWE moves and fist barrages lol.

Here's my take, because of its high Mini-Turbo, you can break ahead fairly easily. Its high drift stat may hinder it from snaking Mini-turbos on straightaways, but instead uses it to graze by sharp turns and come out of each one with its Mini-turbo. Baby Daisy is the most optimal on this bike, but Dry Bones serves an alternative that also works out. Having +1 Accel, +1 drift, and +2 Drift as to Baby Daisy's +2 Speed, +2 Weight, and +1 Mini-Turbo. (Some characters weren't all made equal btw, its why we have unbalanced characters like Funky Kong.)

Anti-cheat facts to clarify the comments above. *TLDR: Wiimmfi may ban cheaters and takes the matter seriously.*
      - Other players can still cheat in public worldwide races or battles (on the original tracks), but they can be reported and banned.
Although a server normally couldn't get proof that someone cheated in a game that communicates via P2P, Wiimmfi provides additional server support that Nintendo WFC did not have, such as a public website (wiimmfi.de) that can display public information about every MKW online room/lobby that is up at any given time (except for the past once that information expires from being viewable publicly). Players in each lobby are listed, along with their friend code(!), which can serve as proof (along with a timestamp) when reporting a cheater to a Wiimmfi moderator.
      - As of now, people playing on CTGP cannot cheat!
That includes CTGP time trials, online CTWW races, online Countdown races, and friend rooms (that is subject to the host player's room settings).
      - Cheaters may be reported (usually with proof) on the Wii-Homebrew forum. Occasionally, a Wiimmfi moderator may be contacted via social media: Twitter, Twitch or Discord. If anyone seeks a way to contact them, a few people who I believe are active moderators include Zachruff (Zach), Leseratte (co-creator of Wiimmfi), and MrBean35000vr.
      - People playing on CTGP have a feature called IIB, short for "Ignorance is Bliss." It's a type of anti-cheat whose detection is heuristic and client-sided. Basically, it detects and flags cheaters in your game such that they can't interfere with your race anymore, and on the results screen, your game will pretend they've come in last place. If you happen to see that the last three digits of the race TIME (in the top right corner) are stuck, it means IIB may have found a cheater (identified by player number and a reason), and in order to identify that player, you may need a screenshot of the player list (room summary) for the race you've played. _(Note: video proof is recommended alongside IIB to rule out the occasional false positive that might happen, usually when people have laggy internet.)
      - In online races, the key checkpoint bug is patched. That means many "ultra" shortcuts that could previously ruin races (on the Nintendo WFC) will not count laps anymore. Tracks like Grumble Volcano are patched, but not the Bowser Castle tracks (Wii or GBA) which still have their respective "ramp" and "spiral" shortcuts that some community members tend to refer to as an "ultra."

@@Nightcaat That's not much of an issue, I dumped all the stuff off my console including the NAND.
Makes me wonder however if it is safe to use my Wii's NAND for the online mode with Dolphin then as I could imagine it being fun to play online with the Wii itself also.

      @@MegaManNeo Ah, good.
You can use it on either and it’ll be treated as the same console (if I recall correctly, you can even have both on simultaneously).

As an Aussie, this video also taught me that DK Summit was renamed to DK's Snowboard Cross and that the Flame Runner was renamed to Bowser Bike in PAL versions of the game.

More like Mario Bike Wii, seeing as how incredibly broken bikes are in this game, to the point where there's literally no point in choosing karts in this game.
