@@SYS_Alberto said “crash” only took place in north america, it was never a thing worldwide, and it’s said to be the result of E.T. Not Pacman, further more, Pacman 2600 was still a big hit in most countries.
I disagree. Pac-Man is a phenomenon for anyone who knows of arcades but as far as worldwide pop culture, Mario is the video game equivalent of Mickey Mouse, not just because of how popular his games are. Which character has the merchandise? Which character is featured in mobile gaming? Which character is starring in his own theme park and movie? @@jlev1028 Mario only appeared in one movie based on video games, Pixels, however Pacman appeared in so many others, he had a cartoon before any other video game character and his simplistic design made him super popular among kids gamers and non gamers. As probably one of the most important characters in video game history, it's kind of weird that the Pac-Man World games aren't talked about as much lately. It makes me sad because those are some really great games. I remember World 3 in particular having some very interesting atmosphere and mechanics, yet it is barely talked about and got average reviews... I also think Pac-Man World is kinda similar to games like Super Mario 3D Land/World
* Cough * * Cough *
Pac-Man World is 3D World before Mario 3D World came out 14 years later
Pac-Man World 2 is just Crash Bandicoot I'm probably the only one that relize World 2 is just Crash Bandicoot the levels are designed to be linear which is fine but whenever I come back to play World 2 I just keep seeing Pac-Man as Crash I can't get over it
Pac-Man World 3 is more open to explore which is my favorite by the way I love it
Pac-Man World Rally yeah back then my first Kart Racer was CTR (Crash Team Racing) on PS1 and I didn't know what the hell a Mario Kart was until I got my DS years later
I love World Rally my kid self usually call it a good CTR clone yeah I'm probably the ONLY one that said CTR clone instead of Mario Kart clone
We need a new Pac Man World game. My favorite game to play as a kid was PMW 2
The president of the United States calling someone for getting the highest score in a video game is so funny to me. I wish that was still a tradition that existed.
Without the controversy and the large portion of the video being dedicated to Billy Mitchell this video is so much better now
So basically a kid randomly said “yeah I totally have like, 6 million points in Pac-Man” then freakin’ Ronald Reagan believed him
Regan: Finally I'll have someone to beat Gorbechev's Pac-Man record.
Well, Reagan was never known for his smarts. At least he didn't steal credit like what Donald Trump would do if some other kid boasted about his high score.
On a side note, why is there like no info on the chain of restaurants Billy Mitchell owns?
People who claim that Mario is the most iconic video game mascot, while debatable I always felt Pacman is more iconic as Mario is only known by gamers while Pacman is known by the average person.

Pac man is form the old testament (the crash of 1983) and mario is form the new testament of gaming.
In short, he's instantly recognized by kids and adults even if they don't care about video games.
@@jlev1028 Mario only appeared in one movie based on video games, Pixels, however Pacman appeared in so many others, he had a cartoon before any other video game character and his simplistic design made him super popular among kids gamers and non gamers.
Also, having a theme park doesn’t count since that was made by Nintendo thenselves and not based on popularity, SEGA made a mini theme park for Sonic too before, SEGA Republic.
4:30- now this I never seen in the original Pac-man?
I think a "Did You Know Gaming" video about Godzilla games, or kaiju related games in general would be interesting. Please consider.
:)
pac man facts: rehydrated
This whole video is Pacman... But without scammy speedrunners
You could have mentioned the GPS idea was repurposed on Google Maps during that one April Fool's week
