Here's a really cool fact about Pac-Man: While Pac was at one point considered to be in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, he almost didn't make into 3DS/Wii U either. Since Bandai Namco was helping develop the fourth Smash Bros. title, they wanted to use the Ghostly Adventures style of Pac-Man in order to help promote the TV series. However, Masahiro Sakurai disapproved of this idea, because he had a feeling that it wouldn't go over well with a lot of the fans. Sakurai instead proposed the idea to use the Pac-Man model from the Pac-Man World series, released on GameCube and Nintendo DS. Sakurai even went so far as to say he wouldn't include Pac-Man in the game if the team refused to use the Pac-Man World design. Well played, Sakurai.
Well, at least he made it in Ultimate however. He even got some unique moves such as turning himself into a 3D version of his arcade self and even throwing pixelated items from Namco (don't forget the taunts).
I remember using the term "power pellets" before the cartoon aired, a lot of people did. I think the cartoon got the idea from pop culture. Also, they were definitely referred to as ghosts before the Atari cartridge came out. Those terms were never officially used in the arcade attract mode, but they were both definitely commonly used.

You can find Pacman and the ghostly adventures on Netflix now but there are only two seasons. I think they shut it down and the end of s2 and I've watched all the episodes and they left season 2 with a cliffhanger! T^T

There used to be a Pacman pizza place in Orlando. They would take a slice off the pizza before serving it so it would be shaped like Pacman and it also had an arcade as well as a small Pacman museum inside the restaurant. It went out of business years ago (along with the COOLEST FAO Schwartz in the world where they'd have MASSIVE statues of famous toys such as Tops, Teddybears, and Barbie shoes you can lay in outside the store.) but at least I have the memories! (And the pictures, lots and lots of pictures)
