    Use a 30a relay from the start switch. the relay will take the higher current that is pitting you contact in the button.

    Why do you have a 85mph V8 ski when others do that? Because it’s AWESOME! Seriously I would rather that then anything in the water. The best part when it’s together is when you first start it. It’s a beast! Love the vids!

    Hey buddy you need a relay off your starter switch! That's how they wired from the factory to control the current to the solenoid. If that doesn't fix it then you need to bust out the voltmeter to see whats going on and look for shorts or ground issues!

    That thing cracks me up. In his videos last year listening to it run from the camera distance, what it sounds like is something you’re not seeing. It sounds like a full-size lake boat sorta like a jet boat from the 80s. The last thing you think the sound is coming from is the damn sit down.
    I think you guys have come a long way with this project. One of a kind NO ONE else has attempted anything like that. That’s a good thing. Awesome job!

    I would have never in a million years guessed that it was the starter button... I mean... it just sends a very low amp 12V "signal" to the relay... Wow.
    Good to see some successful testing ! It's sounding really good. Looks really promising for a top on test. 🤟

    • @JetSkiBrothers
      @JetSkiBrothers  Год назад +1

      Yeah it was the last thing I thought it could be. Should have known though because we’ve had so many issues with those Yamaha lanyard switches. The way I finally found it was by checking the signal wire at the starter solenoid and it only had 5 volts. It’s one of the first things I would do if I was diagnosing a bad starter on a car, but for some reason I decided there was no need to check that 🤦‍♂️ it’s a good reminder for me to not overlook the little things

    Go to a truck alternator or starter shop they have the perfect relay to mount at the starter. Dont forget. Marine starters have an additional plate and seal between the armature and starter drive to keep any gasoline vapors in the bilge from exploding when you crank the engine. The bilge blower does not vent the starter housing.

    There has to be some theoretical limit on how fast you can pump water through a vane type pump before it comes out the exhaust as live steam. Not sure if that gives the same, equal, or more thrust. I think the pump would blow up just before the pressure and temperature required for steam is reached. We won’t know until we have the data, so do it.
