The rebuild shop is Modulemaster. They are fast and reliable. I learned of them on Sams Garage radio show Sat mornings. They repair many types of circuit board automotive modules.
Wow!! this seems so simple. I have a 2000 volvo v70 turbo that has ABS and speed sensor codes. After watching this video, i think I might be able to save money and time by doing it myself.Thanks for sharing!!!
You can drive without the ebcm, dealer recommended covering it with tin foil. But this is temporary while the ebcm is being repaired/replaced. You should have brakes but no automatic brakes (abs.) Check before you drive off. Good luck. Hope you save some money.
could of said the signs you had of a bad ebcm- did you hook up a code reader got a bad code? or did the abs light come on then you gambled it is the ebcm?

Jason, I hope you have your brakes fixed by now. If you live near an Autozone, the will scan your car for free and tell you what the code means. Yes, if your ABS light is on from time to time, it means the module is failing. But hasn't completely gone.
My mom's chevy venture 04 has the ABS light on, and every time I press the brake pedal it goes all the way in, and the car stops really slow. I think the brake power booster needs to be replace it. What do you suggests

I have a 2001 Lumina the light is on and from time to time and the brake pedal seems a little soft too, but no fluid loss. Also sometimes when you brake the low trac light comes on and you can feel the abs kick in during stopping. I have a code scanner however my scanner says that this car don't support ABS scanning. The shops want over $100.00 to scan this. Do you think that this module might be the problem on mine too or any other suggestions?

Advanced Auto parts sold me a gasket kit that had the fuel o rings I needed, in which 2 miles down the rd GM swore that only they had the parts, $300 for a whole kit, I only needed 5 o ring and GM said they dont come with just O Rings
my code is CO265,,,,,,,,, my Actron with code connect says: ABS - electronic brake control module relay circuit--------top reported fix: replace EBCM--------freq repoted fixes: 1- replace ABS control module 2- replace ABS pump motor 3- replace pressure modulator valve (BPMV).........so whats did you do to clear this code???????????
@shanewalker25 Shane, be careful. My brakes worked fine when the ABS Module went out. It was just ABS that failed. You seem to have a more serious problem, like loss of brake fluid. If you can't diagnose yourself, find a shop. I've had good luck with Tunex, and bad luck with Firestone and Midas.
I'm not sure you and I are talking about the same part. I'd be surprised if you can buy one for $15. My dealer wanted $650. Don't know if you could get a used one from a junk yard. Good luck.
I think you have a computer problem, not a brake problem. This isn't a cheap or easy fix. You might be able to find a replacement at a junk yard. Good luck. If you want to try it, pull the ABS brake module and check your brakes to make sure they work. You will have trouble lights. Call the vendor in my video and ask them if they can fix it. They are good guys, in Boisie, ID. Takes about 10 days for them to trouble shoot your Module but there's no guarantee that this is what your problem is.
haha ya your lucky ive got a 1999 sierra and the module is bolted to the frame and i have to take the whole hydraulic control unit out and bleed the 5 brake lines that go into it

SuperDd40, normal for the lights to come on when you put the key on. Shows that the light in the dash works. You should be okay.

Probably. Try it first by setting the brake and see if it holds before you
pull out. You should be okay. That was what I did and it worked out fine.

abs lights up after stopping few times i have fluid which is full and the breaks seem to be working i press the break gently without any problems.

You don't need to 'send the unit in for repair' this is a $0 fix - youtube search the following: "*REAL* FIX ASTRO-VAN KH325 EBCM"

Nope, push on the brake signal pulses the brakes. It's not programable. If it is, I don't
know about it. Brakes work fine.
