The rebuild shop is Modulemaster. They are fast and reliable. I learned of them on Sams Garage radio show Sat mornings. They repair many types of circuit board automotive modules.

Thanks for posting this. My Dad has the same problem on his 2004 Blazer and the dealer wanted to charge him a whoping $2,400 in parts and labor for changing this module. Current price for this unit is only $180 online.. lol, dealers are a rip off!Thanks again.

SuperDd40, normal for the lights to come on when you put the key on. Shows that the light in the dash works. You should be okay.

Jason, I hope you have your brakes fixed by now. If you live near an Autozone, the will scan your car for free and tell you what the code means. Yes, if your ABS light is on from time to time, it means the module is failing. But hasn't completely gone.

just because GM dealer wants an arm and leg doesn't mean your lost. Advanced Auto parts sold me a gasket kit that had the fuel o rings I needed, in which 2 miles down the rd GM swore that only they had the parts, $300 for a whole kit, I only needed 5 o ring and GM said they dont come with just O Rings

I have a 2001 Lumina the light is on and from time to time and the brake pedal seems a little soft too, but no fluid loss. Also sometimes when you brake the low trac light comes on and you can feel the abs kick in during stopping. I have a code scanner however my scanner says that this car don't support ABS scanning. The shops want over $100.00 to scan this. Do you think that this module might be the problem on mine too or any other suggestions?

I think we were able to rent this houseboat for about $130 per night. We didn't take it out, they just rented to us and we kept it tied to the dock. I think you have a computer problem, not a brake problem. This isn't a cheap or easy fix. You might be able to find a replacement at a junk yard. Good luck. If you want to try it, pull the ABS brake module and check your brakes to make sure they work. You will have trouble lights. Call the vendor in my video and ask them if they can fix it. They are good guys, in Boisie, ID. Takes about 10 days for them to trouble shoot your Module but there's no guarantee that this is what your problem is.

HELP. Now, I have a 2000 Chevy Monte Carlo SS 3.8L & my ABS light & Trac Off & air bag lights come on. Nope, push on the brake signal pulses the brakes. It's not programable. If it is, I don't know about it. Brakes work fine.

You can drive without the ebcm, dealer recommended covering it with tin foil. But this is temporary while the ebcm is being repaired/replaced. You should have brakes but no automatic brakes (abs.) Check before you drive off. Good luck. Hope you save some money.

i read that i could drive around wittout the ebcm, but to cover the electrical opening, what do u recommend to protect that area?

haha ya your lucky ive got a 1999 sierra and the module is bolted to the frame and i have to take the whole hydraulic control unit out and bleed the 5 brake lines that go into it

changed abs on my Mercury Villager 98 old one was leaking. bought used one and car brakes and no leak but have Parking Brake light on? could the used one be defected or do I need to reset ECM?
