  • This has been a killer mid afternoon nymph for me on my local rivers over the past few months. I find that the Stray Whisker fishes best with 2/2.5mm tungsten beads under a dry or just subsurface as a single nymph. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you!

    Thanks for this! I’ll Tie some up. Would it be as effective with a gunmetal bead color? It’s all I have at home.

    • @FlyingTies
      @FlyingTies  2 года назад

      I usually fish it with a silver bead but I’m sure it will still work well with the gunmetal

    Question: why in your narration did you say that you tied the fly on a 2mm bead, but in the demo you said 3mm? 3mm is a large bead…

    • @FlyingTies
      @FlyingTies  2 года назад

      I tie this with bead sizes from 2mm to 3mm so I was just showing that version.

    Why didn’t you just split the thread. Love the videos 🙏

    • @FlyingTies
      @FlyingTies  2 года назад

      Thanks. I just use a thinner thread with a loop vs thicker thread split. It's just personal preference, you could split the thread and get the same result.
