This was a great beginners kit for a great price. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxKRURvLsu9Vvyw7gIuvt8FsApoQNCdz-1 Its given us a huge variety to test out and see what works well and what we like to use. Majority of the flies have stayed together well, but some of the rainbow warriors did unravel after catching a few blue gill. All in all, this was a great kit and are so happy with the purchase and value for money.

lol. I'm pretty sure that was me saying that. "I want to tie something simple like a copper john or prince nymph" I think is exactly what I said....after hundreds of flies and months of tying I still cant make a good copper john hahah

Try using 2x long hooks. My copper johns improved a lot once I tried using longer hooks. I get better proportions that way.

A classic and, as you mentioned, fishes great with CDC for the hackle. I also like to add some white or cream dubbing to the collar. I'm sure that matters a lot more to me than the trout ;)

One good tip for tying these is that right after you get your peacock herl tied in, instead of wrapping your thread to the front, you could twist the herl around the thread and wrap them both up together to the bead, has always seemed to make my fly more durable.

Thanks cheech good tips. Hey can you do a video on the Larsen's Legend stonefly there is not one on the interwebs that I can find. @flyfishfood imo should be the ones to figure out the pattern and put a video out there. Thanks Cheech.
