Also anyone who hasn't read his novel, do. It's absolutely amazing. One of the best recent original works of fantasy I've read in a while with amazing world building and genuinely interesting characters. There's a handful of concepts I've seen done or even over done in other works and media, but never with the consideration and excution as in The House of Hounds. There's only one scene I can think of that I had any kind of "issue" with and that was just the word choice and a negligible complaint at best. Its a digestible work of fiction I'd consider appropriate for most ages, but with enough complexity to be enjoyed by anyone. There's my ramble, read the book, its great

I haven't read books since early high school and I was thinking of getting into them again. I wanted fantasy, but fantasy that didn't just feel like Tolkien or the Forgotten Realms remixed a bit for the 100th time. This sounds really interesting so you know what, I'll check out his book.

This video more so makes me think that someone would be better off just using two Guardian Swordspears, but it's nice to know that Loretta's actually has the best version of Loretta's Slash now for people who enjoy it for it's increased range and aesthetic design.

Just when I thought I didnt need to go find another larval tear.
I have this one spread sheet that I used, I'm not sure if it's correct but according to the sheet
Loretta's slash AoW on Halberds MV is 40+100 (Both Physical and Magic) with 30+60 added base magic damage
Loretta's slash on LWS MV is 80+172 (Both Physical and Magic)
That may explain why the AoW does comparable damage despite large differences in AR
I love your videos in depth analysis and I was looking forward to your builds with this weapon as I love it in my game. However I am disappointed I did not find a new build today as you decided on dual halberd for the build since it makes using Lorreta pointless. After all the unique light attack chain with the longer range than the swordspear is why we use this weapon and in dual halberd that is gone. Don't get me wrong dual halberd is great (Dragon in main hand and golden in off hand makes the most stupidly easy jump attack spam build) but it's just a different thing.
I was hoping you found some build with 2 handing Lorreta, like a low strength (even as low as 14 to barely allow use in 2 hands to like 20-25), low int (20ish), and average dex (45-50), that allows for high vigor and high endurance for really strong armor or light rolls, or perhaps uses other tools like lower faith/int incantations or spells, or talisman combination of some sort not necessarily focusing on maxing out the ash of war damage (or even loosing some small amount of damage for some other benefit). Like huge poise and huge damage negation for the player and/or high poise break to allow you to (if needed) tank through attacks and just delete stuff with the light attack chain.
I don't know why Lorreta is considered so bad as I have a really good experience with the weapon even over swordspear. I guess it is the reach of the weapon and the attack speed above anything else or my character is just naturally well build for it while very suboptimal for most other weapons. (My character is build so I can use all weapons/spells so it is all over the place :D ).

Im glad this weapon finally got some love, it has one of the cleanest design. Its such a shame that it has a non-unique AOW. In the fight with real loretta he not only use his weapon as a catalyst he also has a really cool 3 hit combo with his sickle. It sucks that we only get the 2 hit combo with loretta slash on the sickle and not the cooler one.

It does not. That weapon art is the exact same as the ash of war one.

I hope I got more time for AC6 vids too... I'm praying they'll make a DLC so I can transition from ER to AC6 later on.
Maybe this will end with you pulling your hair out, but I'd love to see an optimization for the Sword of Night and Flame and Relanna's Twin Swords. Weapons with four scaling stats kind of break my brain, and I end up not touching them because I don't know how I'm supposed to optimize them.
I saw a discussion about this on discord, apparently getting the minimum physical requirements, then putting the rest of your stats into int and faith is the best way to go. You do maybe 15% less raw damage vs full physical or an equal split, but the weapon arts seem to scale exclusively with int and faith, and they pack a huge punch.

If Fromsofts next game is like Elden Ring and they bring back the ash of war system I hope they stop making "unique" ashes of war worse than a version of it you can put on any regular weapon. Reduvia has this same problem.
And it got a nerf. Nothing major I don't think, but still. Why nerf a weapon that's already not great?

Yep, waiting for the actual game files to update before I can get the numbers though.
So when I comes to pve. I’ve come to the conclusion that weapon arts are basically cheesing, almost as bad as using spirit summons for an easy mode. Of course anyone can play with them if they want. But if you really want to engage with the mechanics of the enemies, you can’t use weapon arts or you will just end up L1 spamming the game. I originally thought just some of them were cheese. But in reality they are almost all very powerful and can be used to drastically reduce the difficulty of fighting.
