    Wow what an amazing build. The fact that the magma ticks also apply blood flame blade... That is what sealed the deal for me..

      @Salamanticormorant Год назад +14

      I think another interesting one is glintblade phalanx, the skill but not the spell. Seems like you get one stack of hemorrhage-over-time per blade, so 4 if they all connect. Arguably worth using once before starting a boss fight, to get a head start on bleed, if you're going to use bloodflame blade anyway. The glitnblades don't go through fog walls though, so not for those bosses, unless there's actually time to buff inside.

      This is the case for most skills like this. My favorite is the bear witness skill on the grafted dragon.
      Main hand a normal weapon, buff it, and offhand grafted dragon. It also gets the buff. I like RKR and nuking with the skill. So many people in pvp try to outtrade it. Often deals over 2000 damage.

    I started a strength build with colossals in 1.07 and found that 2h blocking into guard counters to be surprisingly effective too. Liked it better than rolling in a lot of cases, since the rolling attack is really slow now.

  • @Sljm8D
    @Sljm8D Год назад +7

    This is very similar to what I accidentally did with my very first build, except I used Great Stars instead of Beastman's Cleaver. It already has some base bleed, and the damage ticks from Eruption heal you a little bit due to the weapon passive. However, the blocking stats are not as good. Also, Eruption will deal slightly more poise damage to enemies from a Great Hammer than a Curved Greatsword.
    Anyone reading this who wants to do this build prior to Farum Azula, consider Great Stars, which is available as soon as you get to Altus Plateau.

    The endure boosts my damage negation, and my guard absorption
    + assassin daggger talismans
    Restores the damage you recieved while blocking, and the tiny fp that endure uses is restored
    Since day one of elden ring iv never run from a boss or enemy, i always go head on and end up staggering in 2 guardcounters or fully held down heavy attacks

    What about great stars? I mean it has WAY less physical guard and guard boost yes, but the heal on-hit could stack with bestial vitality to alleviate that detriment, it also has base bleed, meaning that the eruption would do 90 bleed instead of 50 bleed per tick. I really like the idea of this build and taking it even further and to higher levels. Specifically around level 180. This level I believe is where the build unlocks its full potential in that at this point you hit the 29 mind threshold to cast your full array of buffs, and 47 endurance so that you can wield the weapons & seal, as well as wearing a full set of Veteran's Armor which I believe still has the best defense/poise/weight ratio, though please correct me if I'm wrong as I'd love some input on this. Build also has the standard 60/54/14 with v/s/d, and I like to run 38 faith for Blessing of the Erdtree as I really value the increased health regen, and I also run Black Flame's Protection, Golden Vow, and Bloodflame Blade, so I really get a lot of value out of Old Lord's Talisman.
    My preferred setup for Talisman's is Dragoncrest Greatshield, Greatshield Talisman, Crimsonseed, and Old Lord's Talisman, as I really prefer playing with the increased buff duration, and the crimsonseed negates the penalty of heal reduction on the Black Flame Protection. The lack of a turtle talisman can be offset if you so choose by running the Turtle Shield instead of the Serpent Sword, which would require level 181 to hit 48 endurance. Just my thoughts and would love any input you might have Chrightt.

    I think the Vagabond starting class would be more efficient over Hero. You'd save 2 level ups overall. You can also cut some levels in Vigor and Endurance with the Erdtree's Favor +2. Having 56 Vigor and 28 Endurance nets you 1907 HP and 138 stamina with the Erdtree's Favor +2.

    • @Chrightt
      @Chrightt  Год назад +1

      That isn't the case because bloodflame blade requires arcane investment and vagabond has 9 int which is wasted unlike Hero which only has 7. Hero is clearly the superior class here by 2 levels. Anything you can do on Vagabond you can do better on Hero for this build. Erdtree's requires a talisman slot I don't have that doesn't do much other than some raw stats which is much inferior to stuff like dragoncrest in PVE. As you can see, I have provided the stat distribution on starting class optimizer as well. No point using vagabond.

      I'm not grateful to Chrightt, and so me thanking him would be lying, which I personally consider disrespectful. I'm well aware that most of the world thinks lying to one's face is more respectful than telling the truth, but I disagree.

      @@thegondola9877 I know you said you're not interested in the debate, so I'm not going to debate you. Still, I leave this comment and implore you to read it, because I believe you will benefit from it.
      Rudeness is in the eye of the beholder. Truth, on the other hand, is objective.
      Do you know, that in the certain parts of Middle East, it is considered rude to accepts an offer immediately? One has to decline at least once, usually twice. In the certain parts of Far East, declining an offer is considered impolite.
      Here I am, showing a person respect, while you're calling my values ass-backwards.
      See, the rules are contradictory, because they formed in different societies. Here, on the internet, where people are from all over the world, it is impossible to be polite. Surely, you can try, but politeness in general is not a virtue.
      It's the sacrifice of truth for the sake of potential short-term emotional convenience. You might sugarcoat it all you want, but politeness is people lying. Lying leads to people having less accurate picture of reality, which causes people to guess other people's intentions. This, in turn, leads to poor decisions, which ultimately benefits nobody.
      A good example of this is a typical autocrat. Autocrats are usually surrounded by people who tell them flattery, because angering a dictator might lead to imprisonment or death. This always leads to stupid decisions being made, such as starting a war, because an autocrat believes their army is invincible.
      Same thing happens with normal people, albeit the consequences are not nation-wide. Still, millions of personal tragedies add up to a nation-wide tragedy.
      But let's consider the benefits: first of all, when someone is rude to you, it's not a guarantee that you take offense. For example, when most people are insulted by a random hobo, usually it causes but laughter. Taking offense is not automatic, not an instinct or a subconscious process, it's actually a high-level cognitive function.
      As such, any benefit you get from politeness does not have a 100% uptime, it only manifests in the situations where you'd get offended. Still, what is the benefit?
      Supposedly, it's that people get to feel better. But is that really true? Do people really get to feel better in societies with high politeness than in societies with weak social norms? I don't have any data on it, but having traveled the world, it's my observation that it's the opposite.
      The way I see it, people who are sheltered are actually more susceptible to emotional damage due to their lack of experience, in other words, they never develop the mechanisms for dealing with it. People adapt to their environments, and it goes both ways. People in "rude" cultures just don't care as much about what others say, and are generally happier compared to people in "polite" cultures, who usually suffer from anxiety, stressing over what others think.
      Let's end this with conciseness: today, information is no longer a hard-to-get treasure it used to be a mere hundred years ago. There's so much information on the internet you can spend multiple lifetimes obtaining it, and still only get a tiny fraction of what's out there.
      As it is so abundant, it is no longer as valuable, particularly when it comes to opinions. As such, the most valuable thing one can do is to remove any unnecessary information, leaving only the essential.
      I consider time to be one of the most valuable things a person can have. As such, by making my comment as short as it needs to be, I show respect to the time of the reader. Writing concise statements actually takes more time. In the words of Cicero: "if i had more time i would have written a shorter letter".
      I spend the most valuable thing I have, my time, to save addressee their time. What is that but not respect?
      How a text is emotionally perceived is in the eyes of the reader, whereas its length is in the hands of the writer.
      There's much more I can write, but this has been long enough, and as I have said, I respect the reader's time, so these arguments have to suffice. I implore you to think about this matter in earnest, and I hope time will come when you'll change your opinion.
