it might be worth mentioning +25 godslayer will outperform +10 erdtree in every way until you reach ~69 faith, so even if you plan on eventually using erdtree it can be worth upgrading and using godslayer until that point of your playthrough
Hi Chright!! My buddy and I love your Elden Ring content. I'm a long term Soulsbourne player but this is his first. He is hooked and we have been playing many hours of PvP and also some PvE. You put out some of the most comprehensive and detailed guides on top of providing solid research and data to back it up. Please keep up the good work!
Hey man, even tho i dont play elden as much anymore after getting all the achievements, ik that i am in for a very nice and fun treat whenever u post a video and i ALWAYS open up the game again to experience the topic u presented myself and its always been a very good time thank u man and i wish u good *health
im making a build similar to this, after you showed the potential of treespear + order's blade in the great spears overview. thank you for the idea of using black knife. i personally solved the problem of holy resistance problem with a flame art great stars but that sounds just as effective
I think this is exactly what I was looking for because progressing as a sorcerer is very straightforward. As a faith build? It was the most confusing thing I've ever tried and even online research did nothing for me. Seeing the way you play I think finally helped me understand how I can play a faith build and have fun.
Any buff-able physical weapon will do! I chose the treespear because with Order's Blade it gives very high damage and a good reach to easily hit bosses.
I think that electrify armament will perform better than orders blade if not using the treespear though. The reason it's chosen is for avoiding split scaling but if it will end up being just a physical and 1 element split, lightning usually performs better given boss defenses, player defenses, and even rain and water when applicable. Of course orders is still just fine if you don't mind the resistances and just like the fashion of it.
See, I LIKE the idea of actually using blackflame blade in a build- What I DON'T like is how the buff only lasts like 5 seconds so you have to re-apply it constantly.
A build with some of my favorite weapons! Smart idea using black blade on treespear to get through end game holy resistance. That was my only gripe about it.
Treespear is so sexy (especially that R2) that its still a blast to do a playthrough with it, even with all the things it has going against it. Split dmg, holy dmg, lacklustre skill, non-infusable...
Incase someone didn’t know, and I know I’m pretty late on this video. He’s able to cast divine fortification and magic fortification because one is a barrier and the other is a greater barrier buff.
Wow cool build 👍 and great book I read it and it was one of the best books 📚 I have read support your work and could you also make the scythe Video plz.
Damn. I was crafting this build currently and then you come and drop a finalized version on my lap. The good side is that this has a few nice ideas I hadn't considered yet, the bad is that now nobody believes I did anything for the build myself.
hey man, really liked this video. I've always been more of a PVE player and I'm wondering if you're planning on making more PVE build guides or perhaps more PVE/PVP hybrid builds?
The holy damage with the treespear is unviable cause the endgame sadly. Too resisted. It would be better to just use catch flame and other damaging spells then use treespear in those fights. As a faith build your best off relying solely on your spells unless your building for some specific weapon. For example at 80 faith with tree seal +10, you get 795 attack on catch flame. Without buffs that should do approximately 420 damage per cast on maliketh, which could go easily over 500. In comparison a scared flame broadsword would do a paultry 272 damage without buffs at those stats. A broadsword with a lightning buff would at the same stats does 271 damage making it directly worse then not buffing because buffs are terrible in elden ring.
I take ofense with you calling black flame an okay ranged choice, its OP, it carries me through the game everytime i play faith, which its been 3 diferente characters by now, extra good when fighting on horsback since you can trhow it at pretty much every direction unlike lightning spear which forces you to.face the enemy
Really appreciate PvE builds, just because I spend most of my time there, just building into straight bleed katanas is kinda boring and the builds need to be effective against more than just human type enemies, and have more utility due to the variety you encounter. So thanks!
After watching this video I loved the concept, I'm thinking of using a similiar thematic of Order and Chaos but merging it with angelical and death aspects, such as a "Reaper", which means I am interested in using a scythe, do you know which one would be the best for this type of build?
Thought I was onto something using black flame blade and spinning weapon together, but nah apparently I can't stack the black flame burning effect like that -_- Still a really good spell. Was just trying to abuse it
hey Chrightt, I was thinking of workshopping a STR variant of this build, you think 60 faith and the min stats to wield the Troll's Hammer (given it's innate fire and buffable state) would produce similar results?
Saying that one seal is perhaps better than the other because of when you get it, early or late game, is an interesting point but then you lost me using the Old Lord’s talisman. This is definitely a late game acquired item. ✌🏼
That buff lasts very short and does not impact any of the holy skills/damage. I did not feel like it was worth the extra rotation especially if I have to re-buff during battle.
Also, it takes the same buff slot as the elemental negation buffs, so you'd lose a lot of the tankiness for some more damage, which doesn't fit the theme of this build nor really Faith as an attribute in general.
I wish my man chrightt would make a holy build for pve at level 150 so you can also pvp but mainly pve becsuse idk what's optimized or if I should keep faith and int equal or make faith higher idk
@Charles Hastings I know I had a phase where I just used gravity spells w carian sword spells or the int scaling sword (can't remember the name) I just like incorporating magic in some shape or form weather I'm a mage battlemage or spellsword in a fantasy setting otherwise what's the point of a fantasy setting 😂
Hi chrightt! Wondering if u could help me out on this one, i normally run a rl 90 dex build for inv that works pretty well, however, the main weaps i hardswap to fight with are gsp hts, omen cleaver, uchi and the notmal scythe 2 of those having innate bleed scaling, and the other having cool 17 arc req variants (morgots cgs and pirute like a withcer hts), so i was wondering if i might aswell reduce some points on dex, and invest them on 14 arc so i could hot the 17 stat req with the silent mask Despite i would not get the optimal scaling for the bloody helice, the ar diff between this and the optimal way to go with it is (i think) about 18, (+ bleed build up diff), here is the part im not sure of, bleed infusion seem to preserve natural weapon scaling (so a C or B in dex) and only give a D in arc, hence my idea of using a bleed infusion, which gives me more natural bleed buildup and doesnt seem to be very detrimental for the weaps dex scaling, but as we all know, letter scalings cant be trusted, thats why im reaching out to you. Im not sure how bad of an idea this is, or if u, or anyone for that matter, could help me with this :)
@@Chrightt thnx for the reply, i have been doing some research today, factoring bleed procs in the equation with a friend and u are absolutly correct, on average I lost 125 AR on the bleed infusions and on the cgs, and the bleed procs were really hard to get, specially considering that sometimes the proc doesnt deal dmg, anyhow, tyvm for the reply!! :) love your content, keep it up

Sick build idea man. I'm gonna use it in my playthrough. Best elden ring guides on the tubes.
The tree spear has my favorite charged heavy attack in the game.
Great build, pls make more PVE build

I literally just converted my main character into a faith build for NG+ this couldn't have been timed better.
That holy cow joke made me laugh out loud at work 😂

Love the PVE builds! Just curious if there are any other potential candidates for Weapon choice besides Tree Spear?

As he mentioned in the video, you can cast it while doing an action, i.e. rolling. That alone makes it preeeetty good, tbh.

My problem is Old Lord's is obtained so late it's basically irrelevant for the playthrough.
Yep, which is basically why I said in the beginning this build will help you run through NG+ 😂 Many pieces are relatively late.

Bleed infusion nerfs natural scaling in exchange for arcane scaling. At lower levels, bleed infusion loses out quite a bit of AR.
