Hello guys and gals, I've been a bit busy in general so the videos are coming out a bit slower. How do you guys like the story intro for the White Shadow? im a bit confused on where you have the wing of astel. You said it was second slot in your right hand shown in the video, but only have the Miséricorde and the clayman's harpoon in your right hand for the rest of the video
@@rabidcabbage7230 Second off-hand slot, not second right-hand slot. It's the second left hand slot in the build screenshots. Two spears in each hand with dagger in right hand to swap to gives you the easiest rotation around the 3 weapons.
I liked the idea, but the dialogue felt a little inorganic and forced. A little less exposition and it would've been perfect! The tricky part about writing conversations is making it a conversation between the two characters while also providing story-related information for us (the audience) who don't exist in the world.
It's a difficult balance to find, but when reviewing your scripting, you could ask yourself, "If two people were talking about this mysterious person, would their conversation make sense if it wasnt being recorded?"
The best, most in-depth build number crunching anywhere on the net, no "OP BUILD BREAKS GAME" clickbait bs, and some lovely lore as an intro. You're doing something special here.

After digesting the info a bit more, I think I will replace the Wing of Astel with a staff and use some long range sorceries when the situation calls for it. As much as I LOVE WoA, I'd like to have a long-rang option for openers and hard-to-reach enemies.

Love the intro, love the build. Looking forward to finishing Tears of the Kingdom and getting back into even more Elden Ring. Keeping them separate given the massive difference in control scheme, really hard to go back and forth for me.
I do love the idea of an assassin with a white shadow
I have found it easier to keep misericorde in left hand and two hand it either for the glinstone phalanx prep or when enemy is ready to be crit stabbed. Right hand I either use the Ice Lance or a Glintstone Kris, its Dart ash of war + dash combo does similar stance damage as ice lance, just in case I feel like powerstancing daggers

Ha, I have a similar build, just got to 18Dex for Moonveil aaand…. The rest is mostly the same lol (in that wing of Astel and misericord phalanx are secondaries).
I used to use ice spear clay mans as the range option, but I found Glintstone Kris more fun for running around. I only use carian sliced as a spell, which combos OK off moonveil.
That is some really cool lore!
You could replace the second spear with the rotten crystal spear and add the mushroom crown. Keeping the ice spear clayman harpoon

I did make crit builds with both impaling thrust and ice spear, but not on the same character... I had ice spear on a short spear with an offhand rapier, and impaling thrust on a claymore
I'm glad you figured out a better crit build. It is very unfortunate for my Faith-dex character that used the last build though.
Guess I can tell my Str-Int friend about it though lol.

More character builds with lore this is amazing even on new game + 6 lvl 400 I make do in pvp and pve breaking so much poise 🖤
I dunno, the Impaling Thrust has much worse tracking than Piercing Fang. I like Piercing Fang, because the weapons I use don’t usually have a thrust attack, or a way to close distance quickly.
But I must admit, if you spam Impaling Thrust, you WILL stagger the boss, or any enemy, but you will run out of FP if you try it with Piercing Fang.
Use the grafted dragon weapon, it dose 40 poise damage on its super fast heavy atacks
As soon as I saw the 1.12 patch notes with the Glintblade Phalanx poise damage nerf I thought of this build. Hopefully it doesn't change the effectiveness of this build too much.

Also, don’t forget the spellblade set boosting your magic damage-dealing ashes by 2% per piece.

Why did Fromsoft nerf powerstanced spears in 1.12?
Might need to do some testing again, but it seemed like ice spear gets the highest damage from halberds. I was able to hit bosses for around 3300 fully buffed. I’m pretty positive it scales off of dex/int
Ice Spear's bullet art portion is a bullet art. You can check the sheet or copy the same exact stat on spear/halberd. Furthermore, powerstance spear > powerstance halberd and halberds are more expensive on the stat cost as well.

@StuChainz bullet aow damage doesn't scale with weapon AR but with weapon upgrade, affinity and 1-2 stat based on affinity. With cold affinity it scales with dex and int stat, with magic affinity it scales with int stat. So at 80 dex and 80 int, the ice spear bullet of cold harpoon should do more damage than magic harpoon.
what stats do you recommend for a 200 level character?
I was already using ice spear and phalanx on my normal int build lmao

Hey Chrightt,
I was hoping to ask a question. With the Bolt of Granzax, it requires points in dexterity. I had watched a video where the point was made that dexterity goes purposefully well with lightning (specifically referring to red lightning if my memory serves me correctly). I had also seen another weapon, the reduvia blades, at one point only requiring faith to use their ash of war, yet when a particular patch came in, the stat requirements had changed to then needing points in arcane. Annoying as that is, it makes sense being a bleed weapon. My question is, could you see the Dragon Cult Incantations requiring points in dex in future patches? I find it odd (yet preferable at the same time) that all the dragon cult incantations don’t need any points in dex, and yet the signature melee weapon of the Dragon Cult itself, The Bolt Of Gransax, needs a whopping 40 points in dex!
Reduvia has always needed arcane not faith.

How would this build fair if you swapped the spears for thrusting swords or even long swords? Would that be a seriously gimped?

Yeah, that's fine. If you're only looking to spam ice spear, it'll be worth it.

Really decent build. I was wo dering, I cannot find a video on shields anywhere. Not just from yourself, but from any yooutuber. Nothing about using them in combat and their scalings ect nothing about which ones are the best for certain Ashes of war. If you jave a video, or know of any, could you tell me please?

Unfortunately, it was an old saved picture of mine too. I just edited it to give it a white outline/shadow.
you'll get way more mileage out of clayman's by going cold. it gets a high C in both strength and int scaling. at 50 int 55 strength it outscales the magic version by a large margin. even at the stats shown here you only lose a small bit of AR overall in return for 130 ish frost buildup stacking twice on frozen spear. in practice you just perform worse with magic

bro can can you answer my question about damage formula? i asked in the video about this but it's not there:
let's say you fight tree sentinel at the beggining of the game with astrologer. you use glinstone pebbel which has a motion value of 1.52×sorcery scaling so:
1.52×115(minimum requirement for the staff)=174
tree sentinels negation is 20% so 174-20%=139/140
his defense according to fextralife is 103 in limgrave and the actual damage you do is only 86 (don't have the game, saw it on a YT video).
why the calculation and the actual damage differ that much?thanks in advance.
Hello there, I'm getting 86 damage dealt for my damage calculation. I'm not sure what you're doing for defense calculation but it is likely that you are not accounting for the 5 different brackets for defense. You can use the "Damage Calculator" that is in another tab of my spreadsheet or hop onto discord so I can help you with this.

@@Chrightt i meant that of the enemy has 103 defense. how does that effect the formula? what is the formula of this game? is the damage dealt formula the same as the damage taken? thanks for the calculator btw.
@@Chrightt my biggest problem is the flat defense in fextralife is not what is in the game. soldier of godrick with 100 defense reduce it by 64 points and tree sentinel with 103 defense will reduce it by 67 points which is 3 points more. and with 143 scaling you will deal 153 damage to godrick soldiers and that's with 64 defense points. is that true? did you explain that in your video but i didn't notice?
Clayman Harpoon is just an overrated weapon. I would much prefer Pike + Cross for better reach, or Pike + Gransax for damage variety and occasional sniping.
