I hit the T200 & the P790 the other day. P790 won out by about 3mph in ball speed and about 7-8yds in carry distance. For me, the P790 had a tighter dispersion. Both the T200 & the P790 felt great - soft feel for both. Went with the P790
Same. Maybe it's just me, but kbs stiff shaft I hit t-200 better than TM, srixon, Mizuno, and tried paradym. T-200 felt better and performed significantly better. Very tight dispersion for me
A lot of T200 owners in the comments seem to be defensive that this guy chose the P790. Both performed nearly identical when I tested them, but I went with what felt best for me personally, and that was the P790. Nothing wrong with either choice. Go get fitted and pick whichever works and feels best for you.
Seemed like the review was pushing the P790 irons, both great clubs. After I tested both the clear choice was the T200 , better feel and more consistent.
The 4 and 5 iron t200 which i use are so forgiving it ridiculous.. doesnt matter where i hit them on the face, the carry never changes.. 170 and 180.. game changers
Too each their own and why everyone needs to get fitted. For me the 790 was far better than the t200. Felt better, hit it better in both distance and dispersion. Of 6 irons I tested the only one that gave an argument was the mizuno 923 forged
Both are great irons but everyone is different. I also went with the 770/790 blended set. Went in thinking I would leave with the Titleist 150, 100s,or 200 and ended up walking out with Taylormade. Through college playing golf for Clemson University the guy I hated played TaylorMade so I always hated them.... The numbers didn't lie though 😂😂.
Just walked in thinking I was buying the p790 or p760…they were decent and I tried the sim 2 for more forgiveness, at the last second I looked at the rack and said what about these (t-150)…almost didn’t say anything because I’ve been there for a while already….well I’m glad I tried the Titleist 150 because I hit them way better! Granted I hit a 7 iron p790 directly down the middle at 200 yards right after and then I was like crap…that makes it a harder choice but I couldn’t repeat the consistency or feel like I did with the Titleist T150. I definitely leaked a couple that wouldn’t have with more forgiving clubs(on course), but overall I feel like I have more control on what I want to do now and that’s just after one buying them, hitting one bucket and playing 18. Parred all par 3s but one first time out with the new T-150s 🤷♂️. I suggest trying both out for yourself before any purchase and others as well.
I bought the Titleist T400, and used those for about half a year and then I switched to the P790. So far so good, quite happy with these Irons. I did try the T300 and the T200 before settling on the T400 but (at the time) I thought those might be too advanced for me.
I really liked the 200 when I tested both. The P790 wasn’t a bad club but the occasional jump in distance made a difference to me. I also had much better dispersion with the T200 and the distance was more reliable and predictable. I liked them both but the T200 was a more consistent golf club throughout the set. P790 was a little longer but not as consistent.
I tested both and for me the disperdion was ridiculous small!! Never hitted it heavy wile yes with the t200 and a lot of dispersion with paradym. So for me the P790 is the winner . It have a problem , it create addictions. After two rounds with the P790 my elbow pain disapears sooooo. I couldnt be happier.
Have to say they are both remarkably great irons. I went for a fitting yesterday thought i would leave with Titleist 150,100,100s, or 200 but after hitting all the new irons the numbers didn't lie..... It was TaylorMade 770/790 irons all day for me. I hated TaylorMade because the guy i didn't like during my time playing golf for Clemson University played TaylorMade. So i automatically hated them. But my fitter friend forced me to hit them and i was blown away. Came down to the ping 230s, t-150/200, and 770/790. There was no denying the results.
TM clubs are tested with the Tp5 ball and the Titleist clubs with the ProV1 (not sure which model). I used my game ball the Bridgestone and ProV1-dash and the T150/T200 felt better and a lot more consistent in distance and dispersion for me than the P770/P790 but they had different shafts.
I’ve hit both. I’d say P790 is no more difficult to hit than Stealth. Although if you’re used to a fairly big game improvement iron you might find it a little small. If you’re playing regularly and intend to get down to a mid handicap in the next year or two I’d go P790 all day long.
i agree, thanks for the info! I hit both of them at the sim at my local golf shop today , and both of them seemed to be the same level of forgiveness, the stealth was going further but i think that was cuz of the stronger lofts@@CHuzz7777
For anyone considering the P790, you should know that the finish on these is very delicate and mine appear utterly battered after 7 months of use. To be fair, I live in Florida and can play year 'round, but my irons look several years old. Even the incidental contact with the neighboring irons in the bag has them in rough shape, visually.
I would be cautious when purchasing the T200 irons as I have owned them from new since August 2023 and the plastic backing (back of the club head) has come off on the 7 iron. Seems to be a problem Titleist are having with them. Also the cheap plastic that they have glued to the back fades dramatically and quickly making them look really worn and cheap within a few months. I'm in the process of returning mine which is unfortunate as they do perform very well.
Paradym irons are a little larger and stronger in loft at 29° in the 7-iron, so you'll likely get a little more ball speed and a slightly flatter ball flight, depending on the shaft etc.
You know, you just said maybe we could pick up the acoustics , and then the background elevator music comes in. Right. You don’t think those are at odds then ?
P790 gives more yards, but less spin, and t200 gives more spin, and less yards. The dispersion pattern is also tighter with the t200. That’s all you need to know.
In my opinion the beat irons ever made are the Titleist 695 mb. I’ve shot my lowest round ever with them a 67. I know it isn’t that great but I’ve won a tourney with those irons in the bag the second best irons I’ve played were the tiger woods tw. Nike irons. Those were good days. Can I hit them good now. No
I currently play 2019 p790 irons with a broken 9 iron and shot 74 with a broken 3 wood. And only 1 birdie with a putter that is over sixty years old. I have m6 driver. I wish I had my ping g10 honestly and a f9cobra 5 wood. Broke my f9 3 wood
Funny how the comments are UNANIMOUS across in sure a wide spectrum of players... i got fit today and the t-200 was by far the best. I had pro level dispersion
T200’s then…. This guy seemed like he was pushing the Taylormades. I have tried the Taylor’s… wasn’t impressed. I’ve heard nothing but great reviews on the Titleists. Going to give them a try at golftec.
This seems to me like a very subjectively biased review. I disagree with the look at address. First you say you prefer the matte over the chrome. I've been playing chrome (Mizunos) my whole life and when I look down at the 790's they appear to be cheap looking. second, the thick top line? Instead of saying, "The Titleist will appeal to players with it's thinner top line." You say that it's confidence inspiring to those who have trouble with ball striking. Third, the sound. From the audio in the video, (and my personal experience) I think the Titleist sounds very good, not clicky or harsh, and the opposite for the Taylormade (I tested both). Third, distance and dispersion, for me I hit the Titleist further and more accurate. The angle of decent was better as well as the spin rates. This review just seems like you had a favorite before you even tested,
For clarity, there's a small error in the data table - the numbers for peak height should be in yards, not feet. Apologies for any confusion!
I hit the T200 & the P790 the other day. P790 won out by about 3mph in ball speed and about 7-8yds in carry distance. For me, the P790 had a tighter dispersion. Both the T200 & the P790 felt great - soft feel for both. Went with the P790
I tested them both with the same shaft, and the T200s were better-feeling, more accurate, and excellent at address.
Same. Maybe it's just me, but kbs stiff shaft I hit t-200 better than TM, srixon, Mizuno, and tried paradym. T-200 felt better and performed significantly better. Very tight dispersion for me

Was the back of the t200 plastic? Also do you think dirt and everything couldn’t get into the cavity on the back? Or is it closed off and not open
@@Steezyy17 It is fully closed and sealed.
Me too
I hit them both. I went with the t200s. I felt the feel was much better.
The 4 and 5 iron t200 which i use are so forgiving it ridiculous.. doesnt matter where i hit them on the face, the carry never changes.. 170 and 180.. game changers
I took one swing with 4i today and hit 194 yards. 1 swing. I'm a 14 handicap and my 4i is a 190 at best
Wow, the graphics in that camera makes it look almost surreal. Good content as usual!
Great video! T200 all the way. Better feel, looks and performance for me
After several rounds with both, I kept the T200s as the sound/feel was better on the T200.
I tested both and for me the t200 felt a lot better! Didn't even have to watch this entire review to know this guy wanted to push the p790.
Well he did know the results of the test before making the video...🤔
Push?? He seemed to be pretty impartial.
if you’ve watched the channel for more than 10 seconds… you’d know these guys have historically pushed Titleist more than any brand.
Too each their own and why everyone needs to get fitted. For me the 790 was far better than the t200. Felt better, hit it better in both distance and dispersion. Of 6 irons I tested the only one that gave an argument was the mizuno 923 forged

I've been fitted for both of these and I don't agree at all with the feel you're describing. The T200 felt way softer to me...
Excellent video. I was just fitted for a set of P790s and I agree with your conclusions. Thank You, Cheers mate.

Same thing for me
I love the look of both irons and got fitted for both the titleist was the better feeling iron from the 2 for me so I went with those, fantastic irons
T200 all day. The Taylor Made had hot spots on the face that dropped my dispersion.
Have to say they are both remarkably great irons. would you reccomend the stealths, for a high handicapper who wants some forgiveness, or is the p790 forgiving enough

I want the T200's with Fujikura Axiom shafts! My dream clubs.

Love the brushed finish
Had both, still, have the 790's!
I hate irons with a thick top line like the p790, makes them look cheap. I play the 2023 T100 and love the thin top line.
Nice review. How do you rate the Callaway paradym in comparison with these ?
Paradym irons are a little larger and stronger in loft at 29° in the 7-iron, so you'll likely get a little more ball speed and a slightly flatter ball flight, depending on the shaft etc.
Tested both as well the T200 felt way better
You know, you just said maybe we could pick up the acoustics , and then the background elevator music comes in. Right. You don’t think those are at odds then ?
I'd love to know what kind of decent angle the p790 has .
Descent angle for the P790 was 48.6°, so more than enough. The T200 was almost exactly the same at 48.5°!
Waiting until next spring to see if the price of the titelists comes down a bit…
P790 gives more yards, but less spin, and t200 gives more spin, and less yards. The dispersion pattern is also tighter with the t200. That’s all you need to know.

But when I was in my prime I would carry my 4 iron tw blade about 230. On average.
I wish you could've added the Mizuno 225 with these two but nice video
T200 higher flight and more spin. I go for T200
Funny how the comments are UNANIMOUS across in sure a wide spectrum of players... i got fit today and the t-200 was by far the best. I had pro level dispersion
Height 36 ft for a 7 iron… there maybe a mistake? I would like to see the angle of « descent » and the stopping power…
nice vid. tq
T200 is miles ahead of the P790.
T200’s then…. This guy seemed like he was pushing the Taylormades. I have tried the Taylor’s… wasn’t impressed. I’ve heard nothing but great reviews on the Titleists. Going to give them a try at golftec.
Yeah, that extra 2 yards is definitely a performance advantage .......seriously.
The plastic covers at the back of the Titleist club face falls off after a few months. A real shame as the performance of these clubs is very good ☹️
Why is he trying to sell the P790 so hard. personally I had to put the T200 4iron in the bag with T150 it was just to good sounds great
No need to watch full video. Those comments are more interesting 😅
770 should be against t200
They ant no TaylorMade iron better than tiliest drivers yes irons no
How do we interpret ball speed and carry etc, without strike data ? Totally useless.
Are you in front of a green screen lol

pick up the acoustics - proceeds to keep background music 🙄
Dude said “forged like feel” on the p790 😂😂😂😂 they are forged irons 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
er tad expensive
joao cancelo cousin
😂
p790's are forged irons need to do better research
Forged face not full forged iron
Yeah... They aren't truly forged, just the face. They are hollow. Need to do better research, lol.
