Editor's Note: My edits were all made to keep the video on one, central topic by editing together relevant commentary from many parts of Hasan's streams to create a storyline that is still followable by the viewer. I also edited in commentary of my own in places, in addition to relevant external information that improves the viewing experience. A lot of edits were made for comedy purposes, or to enhance the comedic timing of certain beats, but never to misrepresent Hasan's point of view.

Big props to Hasan for this! Super happy to see that more people in this space are discovering my work.
I would be very curious what Hasan would think of my Russia videos
your video was great! I loved your pacing for me as a newbie to this topic.
keep up the good work brother
Keep going
Excellent job
Loved the battleblock theater music. The video is also a banger
If you’re running the government like a business, the people are the shareholders.
Isn't it a business already? Politicians are the traders, corporations are the buyers and the people are the goods.
Here’s a gotcha for everyone that says that, “What CEO has ever made his company more successful by cutting revenue (ie taxes)?”
@@usersar2213"corporations are the buyers"? What are you talking about?
@@megas13protoWhy do corporations donate millions in form of lobbying and campaing funds?
@@usersar2213 okay so how are people the goods? Aren't the politicians the goods since they're the ones being bought off?
Usually I'd say to edit out those stunlocks bc they make other stupid chatters think they can trigger chat by doing the same, but hasan's response was so good that this one should be here just to show that he DOES engage with critics and most of the time just shuts them down into oblivion
debt ceiling? lack of funding? out of pocket? shake down billionaires now!
43:56 no i appreciate you keeping these in! they make it more enjoyable for me. putting in time stamps is a good idea for those who don't enjoy it though, so i suggest continuing doing that :)
thanks for putting the link for the video in the description, I actually want to watch it without chat being so freaking dumb
I hella appreciate when you tell us the time when his stun lock ends on a chatter, because sometimes I really want to see the content and not somebody being blasted.
however I also do appreciate somebody being blasted occasionally 😅 I'd say keep doing whatchu doing it's awesome 👍
I think you can leave chatter commentary/stunlocks in but keep doing time stamps
Love your videos
57:58 is so true tbh, great edits
Agree. Keep em in so we can listen or decide ourselves to skip that part if we dont like it.
This is the way🙏🏼
If only there was a Service that determined someone’s Revenue and how tax should be paid on it
Bro is going deep into theory. Love to see it!
Hasan literally goes out of his way to show the creator and gas them up personally. The react gate guys are losing it
I really doubt a lot of these guys are talking about people like hasan that sometimes double the watch time.
@@mr.dirtydan3338ive seen them frequently use hasan as an example. And hes not perfect, letting it run or skipping in-video sponsors, but hes doing way better than 99% of reactors
@@fordsquared537iirc he only skips sponsors if the video is old and the sponsor link isn't valid anymore
I literally subscribe to 3 people Hasan introduced me to.
I'm always shocked off fast this shows up. I swear I just watched this on stream
clipped and shipped 🕶️
Hasan doesn't let me leave the basement until I've posted enough videos, and if I'm too slow he takes away my meal for the day. So I try my best to be as speedy as possible :)

I’m glad you left that stun lock in. It was glorious.
A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.
definitely leave in stunlocks, the long form content and commentary is the best. makes good bg noise and even if its trivial, i still enjoy his commentary :3
the only thing worse than debate pervertry is smol beanism
I'm here for the commentary + video... _Especially,_ the stunlocks. Or I'd just watch the vid.
I think the timestamps are a fair enough effort. Then people can skip if they want while the rest of us still get it.
We should still have taxes to delete money from rich people
I like seeing his stunlocks tbh they’re funny
Is this going to talk about how we own 89 cents of foreign debt for each dollar we owe thus our net debt is like 3 trillion?
Glad you kept that stunlock in. It was necessary, and aids in understanding more of a content creator's philosophy esp when he is mostly consumed in bits and pieces online. Good choice❤
Economy is one of those things that most humans were just not meant to use brain processing power for, I zoned out and had to rewind so many times during this video.
It's tough it's kinda like reading when you're falling asleep
@@feistygheisty1980 Yep, tho I think he did a good job simplifying it.
lol edit out eviscerating the chatter that went on for so long. thanks for adding the time code when it ends
About the question on 44 minute mark, should you edit out the stunlocks. I think its fine because I can just skip ahead if I dont wanna listen to it. But I will have no option to make that decision or know if I wanna skip it unless its in the video.
In short keep it like it is brother
I only wish the stun locks to be gone when I accidentally fall asleep lol time stamp them but keep them in.
Thank you, Hassan.
For trying to help out m m t it's greatly appreciated
I like the stunlocks when Hasan dismantles debate pervertry. Maybe not so much when revolves around personal/twitch drama.
Yknow, tho, I have personally thought about the material conditions and acquirements we could justify into our hands through the current system, so often I just see cars becoming weapons, no matter how we restructure, just the guns are a worry, but cars are intense as a worry aswell.
It's a good analogy (by Katie Porter) to relate how arbitrary the "debt ceiling" is rather than it being some elemental law of economic physics as it is treated by politicians. A better analogy would be a safe at home that magically always has a few hundred dollars in it. However, the personal imposition of a "debt ceiling" forbids the person in the example from ever opening it. "Sorry, kids!", she says. "You can't have braces or new shoes because my personal integrity prevents me from opening that safe! It's a damn shame, I can't be both fiscally responsible and pay your debts at the same time. WHAT WILL THE NEIGHBORS THINK? Also, I need all this money for my stuff from the gun shop. Buy less from the gun store? Are you insane? it's an unsafe neighborhood. Why do you hate our family?"
I really hate that people in the UK are still brainwashed by Thatcher 😤
The way he says "mwar" is like omwar
Adding time stamps for stun locks is fine. Or if you want to do additional editing that makes them more entertaining.
These would be so much better without the stunlocks. I hate the chatters SO much. Flame...FLaMES, on the side of my face. Breathing. Heaving breathes.
porter? i hardly know her!!!
hey ohhhh
I feel really dumb 😂😂
MMT states you need to look at the actual economy to see how much capacity there is. As long as the government does not compete with the private sector for goods, services, etc. inflation is not an issue.
Keep the stunlocks, they're fun
Stunlocks should be time stamped
49:00 yeah, coops like the CFNACU were literally created because the members were too poor to compete under individualistic capitalist terms. It's estimated to have had 1M+ members at its peak, and eventually split up, but in its wake it spawned multiple businesses and smaller coops that kept going. Collective, poor efforts lead to the creation of a massive cooperative that helped get people on the ladder. This is documented in "Collective Courage" by Jassica Nembhard.
Audio gone
You're too fast! RUclips like to publish the videos before they finish processing them sometimes, especially on mobile, everything should be okay if you try again in a minute or two :)
A fancy way to say what girlies have been saying ✨️ just print more money ✨️
i'm glad i sat thru the chatter stunlock, bc i kind of agreed with them. sometimes i did feel hasan just switch topics and was a bit frustrated with that episode. now i understand a bit more of that particular part of the segment with ethan. also, getting mad at a chatter for not considering the producer salary in that scenario is a little funny because like, why the fuck would a normie outside of twitch and podcast culture know that necessarily? my field is cognitive neuroscience... i go to hasan for politics... not the inner workings of content creation. so yeah. i just don't think he needed to get so angry at chatter for him not being able to provide enough context on the pod. not that it's hasans fault either! but idk ... he did too much i think lol
i think if the stunlock is related to the subject of whatever he's reacting to then yeah leave it in. but if it's unrelated to the react (like this stunlock) then prob take it out
awesome he featured 1Dime. wish he didn’t spend so much time arguing with the debate bro tho
chatter destroying is the best, don’t edit them out :)
DO NOT EDIT HASANS STUNLOCKS OUT!
MMT FTW
Don't edit the stun locks out!
Katie Porter - Some sorta Admin chicka
I hate Parenti lol
i'd love it if random chatter stunlocks were edited out of reaction vids!! I love hasan's takes on the videos, but sitting through 20m of him getting angry at chat makes me wanna die :)
That one chatter is so obnoxious lol "I'm tired of the hate. I wish they all agreed with me so I don't have to continue to think about my ideas more."
“I want hasan to publicly address my bad faith points directly but I don’t want all the attention that comes with!!”
WOOOOO
I don't think you should edit out stunlocks as they can be funny and informative. Sometimes a stunlock can just devolve into Hasan yelling at the top of his voice at some grey-name and that's what they wanted in the first place but most of the time the stunlocks are fine.
I finally watched Leftovers today and the debatelord chatter actually had a decent point about how Hasan seemed to struggle to explain how a co-op could scale beyond his own personal experience with Fear& and it probably would have served him well to have a better example of that on hand BUT they decided to share it while derailing the stream in the most pretentious way which makes sharing any constructive criticism impossible. I also found it funny that the chatter's point about needing privilege to engage in a co-op and Ethan's perspective that capitalists will retake control of the government are only issues under capitalist organizations of the economy that they're projecting on Hasan's vision of a Democratic Socialist society.
Hasan explained in the stunlock (once again) that profit-sharing can only be scaled when it's mandated by the government. otherwise companies would not do this on their own. just like we see with many situations (environment, safety etc.) where regulation is the only way to control companies.
Omg, death to “playing devils advocate” Andies.
Yes please edit out the shitty stunlocks unless they're actually funny
Gah. This video is semi ruined for me due to all the inter-streamer drama debate bro garbage. That stuff is so boring and nitpicky. I wish Hasan would eithert ban or ignore anyone that tries to bring it up and move on. It does nothing but derail the content, make it boring, drive away viewers.
Sorry, but the whole debate of MMT doesn’t even makes sense at a higher level. If we can print unlimited money, then it doesn’t matter if the money is well spent or not. If it is badly spent we still wont have to pay it. It also doesn’t make sense to take money from the rich because what we need is just to print more money for the poor. The whole problem with MMT is that it doesn’t change anything important in the discussion, the whole problem is how to get the money more evenly distributed, not the method of paying for it.
All of this was covered in the video youre wrong. You either didnt watch the video or didnt listen.
@@eirich1606 whatever MMT says can and will be used by the rich to make more money for themselves. This is how MMT doesn't change anything in practice.
Hasan is completely wrong in saying that the working class pay the most taxes and they can’t be shifted to the rich. The highest income bracket pays the most in taxes already, because they take the most, by far. If that were to be increased wildly to the rate it was when the middle class was built, they would pay enough for a lot of people who don’t take much to not have to pay anything.
This video is basically apology for colonialism, because the goal of the US must be currency sovereignty and avoiding other countries doing the same so it can run deficits forever.
