I think one thing that needs to be said about T1's quarter's is they played three unique comps, even with previously played champs available. Guma was the only one with a repeat pick in the Xayah from game 2/3, and they looked comfortable and on the same page each time. Chronicler is right in that they looked like a shadow of themselves through Summer and the way they're showing at Worlds right now is night and day in comparison. Although I think GenG being pushed by FLY does better them, I do think (given T1's summer performance) getting the confidence from a convincing 3-0 also does them more good than the latter. NA continues producing great ADCs but Massu... that kid is different. A career-defining run at Worlds in his rookie year with an incredible backstory. That kid has the making of a star and potential legacy player. Flyquest better treat him very well.
If Fly sneaks that Baron they probably win the series. Gold was dead even at that point, 1 drag each. The series really did come down to the wire, but it wasn't fluky at all. I hope C9 can field a good roster, because having three strong teams at the top of the league makes every team better.
In regards to T1 vs GenG semifinals, just to refresh people's memories this has NOT been a good year for GenG comparatively to their previous ones. - Spring finals - GenG vs T1 - GenG barely win 3-2 - Summer finals - GenG vs HLE - GenG barely lose 3-2 - Worlds - GenG vs FLY - GenG almost get knocked out in Quarters for the 2nd year in a row and had to claw their way back into the series being down 1-2. Even after the GenG vs FLY series I still keep hearing people say that GenG is going to sweep over T1 and I'm here looking at GenG's track record this year which has managed to stay consistently unconvincing and I'm seeing a matchup that should end up being 50/50 or even 55/45 slightly T1 favored. It would be one thing if this GenG vs FLY series was a 1 off fluke bad day for GenG but it wasn't. 3-2 barely win in Spring, 3-2 lost in Summer. This has been GenG's year - incredibly unconvincing and yet I still hear people saying they are a hard favorite and are expected to stomp T1. T1 conversely has been playing well this Worlds and has only looked more and more stable and confident. I just don't understand the GenG bias for this year in particular.
It is for sure a better year compared to their prior year. Sure they won 2 lck last year but they ended up losing to both t1/blg and placing 4th at msi while being 1st lck seed. Also crash out at worlds in quarter as one of the favorite. This year, while they didn’t win both lck, lck gotten stronger this year domestically especially with hle roster. How was Meteos saying “I wasn’t really thinking about EU, I don’t wanna punch down” and Kobe calling them a minor region not the cold open? That absolutely sent me. EDIT: My bad it was Azael not Kobe
@@XBezerkerX >has been bodies by EU junglers more times than he cares to remember Is this EU banter? The opposite is quite physically impossible to remember more times than he has been bodies. Also its factually untrue, Meteos is 3-2 vs Alliance, 4-4 vs FNC, and 3-0 UoL so 10-6 vs EU. Much of that from their IEM 9 win, where they 2-1 Alliance and 3-0 UoL
Regarding the best rookie discussion, Caps did make Worlds in his rookie year. That was 2017 FNC with the near impossible 0-4 group stage start into Quarters. Other than that, JackeyLove won Worlds in his rookie year (the first year he was an actual player for a team, and not just a temporary substitute at least). Meiko won LPL and MSI in his rookie split alone. Peyz won LCK both splits in his rookie year over ZOFGK, arguably the greatest roster of all time. Zven became the best ADC in EU (or at least matched Rekkles) and made Worlds Semis in his first split (back when teams could get promoted between splits). Chovy was probably the best player in the world for most of his rookie year in 2019 and only lost in Quarters at Worlds against defending champs IG. Even ShowMaker had a more impressive rookie season I'd argue, even though he didn't go international, but considering the difference in difficulty of qualifying for Worlds in LCK and NA, I don't think that detracts much in comparison to Massu. Massu did extremely well, but calling him one of the best rookies in history is going a bit far.
the smart thing about that game 5 is that gen g understood that most game 5s across the world goes late and they drafted a high scaling comp knowing that
12:00 Yeah, Meteos, that's exacty true. They were desperate, but they were right in their desperation. They were getting outscaled by an ultra stacked Smolder and they couldn't find ways to force good fights because GenG can just waveclear infinitely with Ziggs, Smolder and Rumble ults, so they don't ever have to interact until they want to. It was a desperation baron, but it was also the right call. They needed to be desperate and that was their best way into a winning position
Oner has had my backing since day 1. I even call him "T1 Jesus" because he came and saved T1 when they were at their lowest with Cuzz in jungle, he is THE ONLY JUNGLER T1 should have in my eyes.
After the 2017 T1 fiasco where players like Bang and Wolf got so burnt out playing so much league and doing all these other things for t1, they played awful. Even Faker got burnt out he didn't show it in his play as much. I assume that T1 would schedule around that better because this T1 roster has been around just as long as the core of Bang Wolf and Faker and we don't see them talking about it. So my assumption T1 as an org learned from its last dynasty and tried to improve it with this one.
Because that has already been disproven. If you’re not on vision, the scryer’s isn’t visible on the map. And the casters most likely knew this from the get-go but just us viewers didn’t and assumed GEN could see it.
I think we are all in agreeance that Flyquest was robbed of certain victory due to Azael being on the cast xD We love you Azael, but next time they ask you to cast NA at an international event, you say "cough cough I need a sick day, ask Kobe" xD
I think stixxay msi 2016 performance should also be up there with best rookie performances ever. That guy was smurfing and solo carrying clg to win lcs and then smurfed on the best players in msi only faling short to skt t1 in their most dominant era
I think Chovy has to perform beyond that, not just sit back win lane and wait for his teammates to popoff and just win. He has this habit of regressing into a roleplayer that just wins lane through CS advantages, I want to see him have some killer instinct and make plays for his team.
I wasn't mad at Fly for Game 5. I was more mad about the game vs Kassadin were they literally lost to a turret... twice. While Ori was low on Mana and had free time smacking on plates. It made me depressed.
I love how they were the villains after Jensen, then they get to worlds and bwipo puts a literal target on his head, but because they perform literally nobody gives a shit and we are just so damn proud 😂😂😂
Yeah I mean bipolar bwipo is very real me and my friends all still make fun of that situation. And I mean quad is a Korean Jensen pretty much so his micro is just better. But it felt bad to just force Jensen out still. I personally haven't forgotten or anything and quad didn't perform like I hoped but he did Smurf that zeri game with his movement and a quadra kill to finish.
as a t1 fan, i find it quite amusing that i can never quite tell if the lck casters and analysts kinda hate (is a strong word, more like *are tired of* i guess) t1 or not. i do understand it to a certain extent though, because they’re the ones who get the closest look at t1’s performance all year-round and as analysts who are meant to follow logic and analyze stats etc, it’s probably frustrating especially as a third party non-fan to observe logic not following t1 time and time again. and of course it’s true that there is a level of glazing around t1 due to their popularity that they might also find frustrating when current narratives around the team’s form don’t reflect their actual performance according to their observations at times. chronicler is lowkey melting during the t1 vs. geng segment and it’s hilarious. regardless, i like chronicler a lot because he’s very funny and i like his casting. also, the bit of sympathy being shown to the team as a whole and even chovy as well particularly by azael towards the end was nice, with bringing up their schedules and content obligations and such, the ddos stuff, the pressure that t1 and faker especially faces, and the criticism chovy receives.
Yeah I can understand that. As not a T1 fan, I find the amount of constant glazing by T1 fans to be the most annoying thing in all of LoL esports (both when they're doing well or poorly at the moment).

They played THEIR game
Oner has had my backing since day 1. I even call him "T1 Jesus" because he came and saved T1 when they were at their lowest with Cuzz in jungle, he is THE ONLY JUNGLER T1 should have in my eyes.
Great episode! As always.
35:45 NIP was not the worst team in the LPL, they were around 4-6th best out of 17????
CHRONICLERRRRRRRR
I love Oner!
NA - Semi’s is the target now. We made Quarter’s twice. Now aim for the next stage.
41:46 I think this is the first time I've ever heard Chronicler swear for real haha
The make us believe.
sadge, that shit was amazing to watch even though it didnt go our way in the end
I love Chronicler
Inspired and Massu make me have hope for NA
Massu has to compete against the OG C9 rookie year, which is definitely close.
We got the next MSF vs SKT,
I've been saying this as an EU Fan since FLY was up 1-0
C9 should be so mad seeing that LS was right about how to be competitive internationally.
What’s the incident Kobe’s referring to at 1:13:23?
Faker bang his head to the wall during lck, I think.
Kobe was cracking me up the first 10 minutes
After the 2017 T1 fiasco where players like Bang and Wolf got so burnt out playing so much league and doing all these other things for t1, they played awful. Even Faker got burnt out he didn't show it in his play as much. I assume that T1 would schedule around that better because this T1 roster has been around just as long as the core of Bang Wolf and Faker and we don't see them talking about it. So my assumption T1 as an org learned from its last dynasty and tried to improve it with this one.
From enemy of the LCS fans to NA's entire tank of copium. Fly truly on a Quest for greatness if they can get even better
as someone who didnt watch anything but the games, I was not expecting Gen Z Chronicler
The gap may not be closed, but this felt like the closest its been in a while
has anyone got the link to the oner vid doco ?
Did I miss it or did Kobe not bring up the fact that he called FLY would lock in Fiddlesticks vs GenG?
I'm surprised you didn't mention Bwipo hitting the scryers bloom towards baron which seemed to tip off GenG to Fly doing the baron.
Because that has already been disproven. If you’re not on vision, the scryer’s isn’t visible on the map. And the casters most likely knew this from the get-go but just us viewers didn’t and assumed GEN could see it.
MASSU MY GOAT
I don't even want NA to win worlds someday for me anymore, man. I want NA to win worlds for Kobe.
no way you got Pedro Pascal on the show, so this is where Riot allocates their funds
Best NA rookie year is Ballz no question
busio my goat
I think we are all in agreeance that Flyquest was robbed of certain victory due to Azael being on the cast xD We love you Azael, but next time they ask you to cast NA at an international event, you say "cough cough I need a sick day, ask Kobe" xD
Dude Quad had a CLEAN xeri. Give him some credit 26:50
Hopefully after this performance broadcast will stop talking about Massu like he's just an asset to his amazing dad
I believe in T1!
glaze is a bit overdone. c9 vs afreeca felt WAY better bc they actually won
Where is the divephoria?
everyone yawning when meteos talks lol
Anybody else think meteos was falling asleep? I know he said he took a small nap
Yeah, my gf is Chinese (from Hangzhou) and she really knows nothing about League basically, but she still knows TheShy, Uzi and Faker
its 9-1 Odd for T1 vs GenG
Massu was regularly losing lane on Kallista into hyper-scalers? What's with the gymnastics to hype him up?
The Dive!!!
as a t1 fan, i find it quite amusing that i can never quite tell if the lck casters and analysts kinda hate (is a strong word, more like *are tired of* i guess) t1 or not. i do understand it to a certain extent though, because they’re the ones who get the closest look at t1’s performance all year-round and as analysts who are meant to follow logic and analyze stats etc, it’s probably frustrating especially as a third party non-fan to observe logic not following t1 time and time again. and of course it’s true that there is a level of glazing around t1 due to their popularity that they might also find frustrating when current narratives around the team’s form don’t reflect their actual performance according to their observations at times. chronicler is lowkey melting during the t1 vs. geng segment and it’s hilarious. regardless, i like chronicler a lot because he’s very funny and i like his casting.
also, the bit of sympathy being shown to the team as a whole and even chovy as well particularly by azael towards the end was nice, with bringing up their schedules and content obligations and such, the ddos stuff, the pressure that t1 and faker especially faces, and the criticism chovy receives.
Yeah I can understand that. As not a T1 fan, I find the amount of constant glazing by T1 fans to be the most annoying thing in all of LoL esports (both when they're doing well or poorly at the moment).
My biggest hope is that FLY makes no roster changes. I love the team and I want to see the play together for at least another full year.
as big of a T1 fan as I am, a Wrestlemania Once in a Lifetime, Chovy vs Knight BO5 for their first world championship would be absolutely crazy
bro ur not a t1 fan
@@todayont1744Clearly. T1 maniacs would refuse to watch finals if their babies weren't in it.
@@derekmarshman6154A fan of any team wouldn’t support their team losing. They would be fine with their team losing if they like another team in the tourney as well. That is like a Real Madrid fan going I hope we lose the next game. This isn’t exclusive to t1.
