noelle would you ever consider doing a very specific book recommendation video (for example, books about sibling relationships, books about shipwrecks, etc)? i love your passion for reading about specific topics lol☺️
id love to see her favorite books about generational stories
Two votes for sibling relationships
Three votes over here 😊
I totally would!! I’ll need to ask for prompts 👀
Yesss! I also asked under one video if Noelle could make shipwreck books recommendation, I would love that, I hope you will Noelle ☺️
Noelle has the skill of selling literally any book; no matter what topic & genre, to me purely by being enthusiastic and entertaining 😂 She would cost me a fortune if she ran my local book shop!
Holy shit look at me on time today. I just want to say thank you for getting me back into reading the past couple years. I forgot how much I love it
ily 🥹💛 so glad i could help in anyway!
Favourite book of the month was definitely “Maybe you should talk to someone” by Lori Gottlieb and my favourite character was Harold from “A Little Life”
I’m currently trying to read all of Agatha Christie’s works so my favorite book this month was Murder on the Orient Express! And of course Poirot is my favorite character of this month!
Murder on the Orient Express is SUCH a good christie novel
My favorite book of July was Anne of Green Gables! Miss Anne Shirley, Cordelia, Queen of Green Gables herself...I adore her and her relationships. Such a warm and cozy hug of a book that unexpectedly shattered my heart, Iykyk 💔
the whole series is fantastic. growing up i only read the first book cause i didn’t know there were more than just the one and i read it over and over again but i recently reread the first one and decided to read the whole series and im finally on the fourth one and they are SO GOOD
@@WingedKey that's so exciting! After finally reading the first one, and falling in love, I immediately bought the other seven. Lol. I'm gonna jump into the second book after I finish my current read, Kaikeyi (which is also great, btw)!
I love Anne of Green Gables so much!
anne of green gables is the best ever
I love Anne! I just got the whole book series
I read both Hamnet and I Am I Am I Am by Maggie O'Farrel this month, because of your recommendations and I adored both of them so much. What a wonderful writer O'Farrel is. I want to read all her books now and cannot wait for her new one to come out!
I just read Take a Hint, Dani Brown and I lOVED Zafir!! He was so sweet to Dani and I loved the banter between the two of them. One of my favorite books for July.
Zafir is so great!!
In the middle of it now - I feel the same! ❤️
I am rereading the Percy Jackson series with my friend so those have been my favorites of the month. Of course, Percy is also my favorite character! It’s so lovely revisiting old favorites. 😊🌊
Favorite book this month was definitely Book Lovers by Emily Henry!! Favorite character(s) were Jess and River from The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren! This was a great romance month for me I LOVED both these books :)
i only got to 2 books in July, but my fav was definitely The House of Hades (book 4 from the Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan)! it’s definitely my fav from the series :) and i literally can’t choose a fav because i love all of the main characters 😭😭
"Feel the length." I snort laughed. And then again when you cracked yourself up.
My favorite fiction was The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo (I finally got it it and WOW loved it) and my favorite non-fiction was The Vagina Monologues! And my favorite character was Darcy in the Heartstopper series
Same on Evelyn Hugo! I started in July and just finished this morning. So good and so worth the hype.
Any books like Seven Husbands that you would recommend
I knew you'd love Black Cake! One of my favorite reads of the year for sure. A standout for me for July was Setting Free the Kites by Alex George. It's a coming-of-age literary fiction about friendship and grief, and BOY OH BOY DID I CRY. It was wonderful. I also read Sleepwalking by Meg Wolitzer and loved it as well!
Hi Noelle! My favorite book of the month was Our Wives Under the Sea by Julia Armfield. It was such a weird little novel with so much packed into its 240 pages. I would categorize it as a sci-fi/horror. So so good.
Favorite book I read this month: if cats disappeared from the world, this book was so amazing! And the main character in this book was my fav character this month as well!
The best book I read in July was Piranesi, and my favorite character was, of course, Piranesi
my favourite book (and character!) of this month was evelyn hugo 😍 what a book
Feel the length hahaha 😂😂 that made me laugh out loud!
i just want to say that the way you describe these books and the wording you use could make me want to read any book. it also helps that you read a lot of different genres. i often feel that i'm not real reader (whatever that means) because i don't read a lot of classics and different genres and i read a lot of romances so watching your videos makes me interested in getting out of my comfort zone and reading all different types of genres. so thank you!
i loved "before the coffee gets cold", hited me really hard 🧡
the way i got this notification and SPED over to watch. love you noelle.
Yes! Have just ordered "Before the coffee gets cold", excited to get started, especially after seeing your reaction on that one. Thank you! Favourite work I read this month was definitely 'Venus and Adonis' by Shakespeare, and in terms of the favourite character, it most certainly was Kit from "The old curiosity shop" by Dickens.
My favourite character is Violette Toussaint, an Amelie Poulain-kind of character in Fresh Water for the Flowers by Valerie Perrin. Beautiful story about grief in a French setting! Possibly my new favourite book.
would love to see a grad school update from you soon!! with applications coming up in a month or so it would be awesome to check in with you on how fast you're progressing, how you're overall feeling about everything, etc etc for any of us who may be considering an ma in literature :))
this is such a good idea!! adding it to the list!!
I also read before the coffee gets cold this month and loved it! Cozy but complicated is so perfect to describe it 😂
I cannot thank you enough for swaying me to read Thank You for Listening. I am on chapter 6 and I have not laughed this much in quite some time. I have no doubt it will continue to delight.
you made me so interested in "my body"! i also just ordered "thank you for listening" and i can't wait 😍
Your Monthly rep-ups are everything to me!! My favorite book of the month was, with no doubt, Act Your Age Eve Brown and my favorite character was Jacob Wayne, the love interest of this book. I know you also love the Brown sisters and now that’s over I have this bittersweet taste in my mouth… I’m so glad that I read them but I’ll also miss this family and miss a good book with a diverse cast…. Anyway, happy August, don’t forget to listen to August by Miss Taylor 💕
Noelle July felt so long for me too! I got Covid over 4th of July and the month was just insane! I read a ton of cool non-fiction in July. My favorite character is Marjorie post from the magnificent lives of Marjorie post which is a historical fiction
Best book: Elena Ferrante's In the Margins. WOW. Three brilliant essays/talks and it spoke to me about idea of finding one's own voice in writing! Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!!
(Ito fiction: I listened to Agatha Christie's Crooked House and it was so interesting! Loved the idea of "evil inside a family", especially because I grew up seeing this question emblazoned on newspaper headlines)
I literally finished one book in July 😂 this year is not going well reading wise. The book I read was A Curious Beginning, first book in the Veronica Speedwell series by Daenna Raybourn, and honestly I loved it and Veronica is a great character
choosing a favorite book of the month is so hard but i think i have to say On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous by Ocean Vuong. though choosing my favorite character was easy because Eve Brown from Act Your Age Eve Brown was a DELIGHT
eve brown forever!!
I read my first Colleen Hoover book, It Ends With Us and I think it was my favorite of the month, closely followed by Dear Ava by Ilsa Madden mills. Neither one was 5 stars (I gave them both a solid 4 stars) but it wasn't a great reading month for me at all so I'll take it!
And I don't really have a favorite character this month. No one really stuck out to me or stuck with me :)
Thanks for the video! Great as always
Just wanted to let you know how much your videos impact me. Definitely my comfort RUclipsr
love you 🥺💛
I read so many great books in July (Calypso, This is Where I Leave You, The Trees) but How High We Go in the Dark was the absolute best. I can’t stop thinking about it.
I've seen Milk Blood Heat everywhere, and didn't realize it was a short story collection. Added to the TBR.
Big Little Lies was my favorite read this month and I loved Madeline 🥰
i just finished the audiobook for the secret lives of church ladies and LOVED it!!! thank you for introducing it to me!!!! also i am with you peach cobbler was my favorite
I started reading Before the Coffee Gets Cold and I'm really enjoying it so far
"Feel the length" is the hardest I've laughed at a RUclips video in a long time
glad you had a great reading month! ☺ I read 22 books in july, & it was definitely a good one for me as well. I think my favorite character was death/the grim reaper which was the narrator of the book thief, & my favorite book of the month was either that one or this side of paradise by f scott fitzgerald. I had a lot of great reads though 💞
The way you describe Every Summer After makes me want to read it ASAP!
my favourite book this month was me before you! cant believe it took me so long to read it, so much better than the movie
My favorite book of July was Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid! I couldn’t put it down!!
"i'm not sure if that made sense but we're gonna roll with it cause those are my feelings" a life motto
ahhh so cool that you read dear america! :) a really good memoir
Dear America, Note of an Undocumented Citizen sounds amazing!!! I can't wait to pick it up!
Everything under by daisy johnson was brilliant and definitely my favourite this month! I think Amor from the Promise was so memorable
My favorite book for July has to be The Secret Lives of Church Ladies which was recommended by YOU! Peach Cobbler was a close favorite, but I liked Dear Sister way more. Every character in that story was so well developed in such a short piece of writing. I’m not sure that I have a favorite character… I read mostly nonfiction last month 🤔
I am reading you made a fool of death with your beauty right now. Loving it!!!
Before The Coffee Gets Cold has a sequel. I would recommend you reading it as well, it explained a lot of things for me that was left out of the first book. 🙂
Now I need to read that one next… been sitting in my bookshelf for months now 🫣
and another one coming out this fall!!
I second this!! I actually loved the sequel more, so very excited for the third book in the series!
favorite book i read: tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow, favorite character: emma blair from one true loves!
Yes. That was my favorite book of the month too.
i also read one true loves last month and enjoyed it a lot :)
I also felt this month was the longest and this is the most number of books I've read in a long time, I managed to read 6 books. I happened to read 2 books a month, so idk what happened but I'm happy. Nice video as always.
AH! Look at THAT eyeliner!!!!!! SNATCHED! and that lip color!.......don't even start me there.
read patricia wants to cuddle this month and it is one of my new all time favorites!! i saw you recommended it in a previous video… you should def read it! it was so fun, fast-paced, and just so different from any other book i’ve read lately.
i'm so glad you liked it!! definitely reading it this month!
Favourite book of the month: Tipping the Velvet by Sarah Waters and favourite character: Rinn from Tea Dragon Festival!
Black Cake sounds so similar to one of my all time fave Meryl Streep films The Bridges of Madison County so I'll definitely give that one a go!
David Saderis' A Carnival of Snackary was a delight to listen to. I was ticked and laughed out loud in public at some of the essays. It was fun to hear all about his perspective on major events in the last decade and hear all the fun he and his husband got up to.
My favorite book this month was Nettle and Bone. Favorite character from this book was the Dust Wife and her demon chicken. This book is delightful
Ended up reading 3 Grady Hendrix books in July, and holy shit, they were amazing!
I love him!!! Which ones did you read?
I'm obsessed with Pepper from A Closed and Common Orbit, but also Dalinar is an old fave from the Stormlight Archive. And maybe Niamh from Her Majesty's Royal Coven. I can't choose! 😅
I just finished reading "The Bodyguard" by Katherine Center and I LOVED IT ! I already miss the characters and their stories !! I didn't think any romance novel would top the brown sisters trilogy by Talia Hibbert for me but then I stumbled upon this book on Scribd and had the time of my life!! I think you'd love it 💕
I know you didn’t ask for video recommendations but I would just love to see “books as makeup looks” ever since you mentioned once how you wanted to do an “Elektra” makeup look 😍
in july i re-read (on the) jellicoe road by melina marchetta, a favorite of mine. i was afraid that it wouldn't hold up, but it was even better than i remembered. for the first time in years i sat reading this book for about 7 hours straight and couldn't even put it down to make something to eat (despite my growling stomach). IT'S SO GOOD!!! and cirminally underrated. everyone please read it 🥺 honorable mention: hamnet by maggie o'farrell. fav character must be all the characters in jellicoe road, especially the original five: fitz, jude, tate, webb and narnie
The Dead Romantics gives me Meg Cabot's Mediator series! Which I loved as a teen in the early 2000s.
I have two favorites that I read this month! One was a book called Nerdgasm by Kimberly Reese which was really short but was so cute to me and showed me how much I liked reading about nerdy guys in romance. The other was Today Tonight Tomorrow by Rachel Lynn Solomon which was a teen romance and was my break from smutty romance and was the absolute best! And my favorite character to read from was Harry Potter. I’m rereading right now and forgot how much I loved his perspective.
My favorite book this month was It happened one summer 😄 Favorite character was definitely Agnes from Shuggie Bain
My favourite book of July was A Still Life by Josie George - it's a memoir about a year in her life as a person who is mostly housebound with chronic illness, and though it sounds heavy there is so much wisdom, tenderness, and levity there. As someone under similar circumstances due to suffering with Long Covid, it really resonated with me, and I think it has a lot to offer to anyone (regardless of health/ability status).
Probably my fave character was Percy Jackson - read the Lightning Thief and didn't enjoy it enough to continue with the series, but thought he as a character was great!
My favourite books this month were My Brilliant Friend and The Story of a New Name by Elena Ferrante, the first two books in the Neapolitan Novels quartet. Absolutely brilliant and unique. I also read and loved Piranesi, and Piranesi was my favourite character this month
My favourite book that I read in July was Mansfield Park, but my favourite character from a book I read in July was Percy Jackson - my anxiety had been super bad recently so reread one of my favourite series from when I was young and it has been such a joy!!!
Most favorite book of July - A Prayer for the Crown-Shy, the second book in monk and robot series by Becky Chambers. The two books are amazing and heartfelt. Second favorite was Nettle & Bone by T. Kingfisher, a new favorite author. Thank you for your insightful and fun videos. I have found and fallen in love with so many books through your channel.
My favourite book this month was If We Were Villains (yes - I finally got around to reading it!!!), and it stuck with me emotionally for days. My favourite character was Alix Chamberlain from Such a Fun Age, so fun, so outrageous and so problematic! Loved her
If you want a good sibling relationship book, The Late Bloomers' Club is a great choice. Also, it's the most heartwarming book I have ever read. I read it during a difficult time in my life and it made me feel so comforted.
My favourite this month was Woman Eating by Claire Kohda. It was a short read that follows a 23yr old vampire as she lives on her own for the first time and has to learn to deal with living in a world where she will never be like anyone else. It was such an enjoyable reading experience, I loved the vibes, it would be perfect for fall!
I absolutely loved My Body! I also liked every summer after a little bit better than LAOW because I thought the reason the couple stopped talking was more believable. When I read the reason in LAOW I was like yeah sure buddy LOL
It ends with us is my new favorite read for the month
OMG, I thought it was me with July feeling looooooooong.
it's the way i kept laughing at "you could feel the length." 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I also read the roughest draft in July! Lol it was sitting on my shelf forever!
Living for all this content
THAT’s WHAT SHE SAID. 😂
Favorite book - An Enchantment of Ravens
My favorite book of the month was before the coffee gets cokd, close second being Cultish my Amanda Montell. Just such cozy vibes with before the coffee gets cold.
I didn't read as much as I hoped I would in July, so I can't say I had a big favorite. I think the book I liked the most was an old one that's been sitting on my shelves for a quite a while which is Laura Kinsale's My Sweet Folly. Laura Kinsale is a old school historical romance author -- this book was written in the 90s -- who creates very unusual plots, with lots of details, and characters who have challenges and eccentricities. This one starts as an epistolary and then the characters meet and everything is upended. I would say that Mrs. Folie Hamilton -- the heroine of this book -- was my favorite of this month.
My favourite book this month was "It Could Never Happen Here" by Eithne Shortall, and my favourite character is probably Beverly from the same book, because I ended up really loving the depth of her and also the parts of her which I did not like
Best book of the month was Always Be My Duchess by Amalie Howard. One of the best romances and audiobooks of all time, period. And my favorite character is the Duke from that book, Lysander. Why is his name so hot? Ugh. This book threw me into a reading slump hard, because absolutely nothing could compare for days 😩
Just finished The Dead Romantics and my goodness what a clever rom com plot with ghosts and mourning.
Favorite book this month was Chasing the Boogeyman by Richard Chizmar. Love this video, so glad you’re feeling better!!!🌞
I freaking loved Knox Morgan, from Things we never got over. Fell in love with him
Loved this, like always 🧡 My favourite book was Finding Me. After hearing you sing its praises, I had to get to it soon and Noelle, I couldn't agree more: it was sooooo good, just wow! My favourite character is Redford Morgan from Get A Life, Chloe Brown: what a great guy.
Best book: finding me by viola Davis , damn that was a such a good book
July was 6 months long.
My best book (besides my reread of The Color Purple) was Betty by Tiffany McDaniel. Betty’s father, Landon, is my new favorite character in a book. Although I will always love Celie. 💜
personally? i think it’s cute when you hold the mic!
i've been seeing the dead romantics around but i only just realised it's by ashley poston!!! i adored her once upon a con series i can't believe i didn't know she had another book
I finished Black Cake in July as well and enjoyed it. But my July favorite was Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus. And I have a library hold for Whelan’s new book and cannot wait.
My favorite book this month was The Nickel Boys by Colson Whitehead. It perhaps is one of my favorites of the year. Whitehead's writing style is just incredible and the book made me feel all the emotions, despite being only 220 something pages.
fav read this month: three body problem (chinese sci fi)
fav character this month: jack reacher (lol)
Love your vids Noelle! Glad you're feelin' better.
I'm just now getting back into reading after a suffocating 4 years of highschool and your videos have really helped me get excited about picking up new books so thank you!!! ♡ My favorite book this month was almond by Sohn Won-Pyung (although I think Instagram overhyped it a little...)
Watching this was a great way to spend my lunch today!! ❤️
I read the 5th season in July and ADORED it - unbelievable. But when it comes to new fav character... That's tough! I re-read Daisy Jones and the Six and I loved it even more than the first time, I forever want to be her and wander around barefoot in California....
