I finally got my hands on "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" and I believed everyone when they said how amazing it was, but it still blew me away. The writing and characters are so so captivating. I haven't finished it yet, but I already know it's one of the best books I've read in 2021

The silent patient and the heart principle were two of my favorites this year. Definitely check out the heart principle if you liked the love hypothesis.
@@katmancilla5777 I did a romance reading challenge and it was on my list. I loved it soo much !!!!! Definitely a wonderful story of romance, but also touches on some serious issues 🙏

Coming back to this two months later and can say "The Sound of Gravel" was the perfect recommendation! Liked Educated a bit more, but still wow a crazy story!

Hi, I got into reading just this year. My favourite book was The Song of Achilles hands down. Nothing came close to the first book I read this year, it was exciting, adventurous, romantic, heartwarming and heartbreaking. Loved it.
@@katmancilla5777 already have. I'll give it an 8.5/10. It was amazing but I just wasn't as emotionally connected as I was with Pat in TSOA. But the book solidifies M.M as a phenomenal author. Can't wait for what she writes next.
my favorite books of the year were ‘Dune’ by Frank Herbert and ‘The Song of Achilles’ by Madeline Miller. ‘Dune’ was simply a masterpiece and while it isn’t for everyone, it was definitely for me and i will forever be in love with the novel ‘Song of Achilles’ stole my heart ripped it in two and glued it back together and it was all worth it.
Dune was really a masterpiece. It was the best book I read in 2021 along with The 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. Both books had me so gripped and transported me to another place and time.
My favorite book in 2021 was “The Starless Sea” by Erin Morgenstern. I usually don’t re read books, but I’m already re reading it because I truly never wanted it to end. I highly recommend this book if you love fiction!

I love that you won't shut up about The Heart Principle because I, also, loved this book SO MUCH and have seen so many "this isn't a romance!" negative reviews of it, which drives me nuts. It's very much a romance, where the main character is torn from her need for love by her need to help her family, and that is so deep and emotional in a way that a lot of romances aren't, but that doesn't make it NOT a romance. Thanks for sharing all of your favorites; I definitely found a few more to add to my TBR!
My main 2022 reading goal is to have the number of unread books I own decrease, whether that’s through finally reading them or unhauling the ones I’m no longer interested in.
There was more but these stood out the most from 2021 1. Carry by Toni Jensen 2. Why Fish Don’t Exist by Lulu Miller 3. Depression, Anxiety, and Other Things We Don’t Want To Talk About by Ryan Casey Waller 4. The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa 5. When The Elephants Dance by Tess Uriza Holthe
My favorite reads this year were: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid Im Thinking of Ending Things by Ian Reid The Hating Game by Sally Thorne The Song of Achilles by Madalyn Miller
I LOVED Everything I Never Told You, so I'll definitely try a couple more of your recs. Know My Name sounds so interesting. And If We Were Villains has been on my radar for a while.
I fell in love with Patti Smith’s works this year so shoutout to Just Kids for the introduction. Red at the Bone was also surprisingly moving and My Year of Rest and Relaxation caught me off guard and unbalanced me in the best way.
I read a TON of tordotcom speculative novellas & damn, they're pretty much all great! My top 5 this year were: 1. A Psalm For The Wild-Built - Soft & Whimsical Sci-Fi Novella - I think you'd actually really like this! 2. In The Dream House - as you know, Carmen Maria Machado, an icon. 3. Act Your Age Eve Brown - if you know, you know 4. The Poppy War - favorite fantasy 5. Seven Day in June - biggest surprise of the year - stunning!
My ultimate favorite book this year was actually a mix-up. 😅 I wanted to get my hands on a copy of Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell, so I ordered it online. Little did I know, I actually ordered THE Cloud Atlas by Liam Callanan, a little known spiritual novel. 🤪 decided to roll with it & as it turns out, this book is waaaay underrated. It is a short little lovestory about a soldier who defuses hot air ballon bombs in Alaska and an Alaskan native girl. There is no shortage of Alaskan folklore, shamanism and even a triangle relationship. It’s so different, yet so good!! 🤩✨💫
my favs were Plain Bad Heroines, Everyone in This Room Will Someday Be Dead, The Hundred Year House, and In the Dream House. i also loved The Echo Wife, They Never Learn, Beach Read, and We Have Always Lived in the Castle.
Great Expectations is my favorite book! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!! I also read Dracula for the first time this year too! Carmilla was one of Bram Stoker's inspiration, and is one of my favorite short stories of all time! 💕📚
Probably my favorite book of the year is himself by Jess kidd. It was written so beautifully. I’m also starting her body and other parties you recommended and it’s BEAUTIFUL. In five years was also so good and a gut wrencher. I also read paradise lost one semester and was shocked I liked it too!! It’s crazy how much you end up sympathizing with Satan and seeing the dynamics of women in the poem.
From my top 3 books, 2 are very heavy with the other being YA fiction 🤷♀️: 1) The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini 2) Maus 1&2 by Art Spiegelman 3) Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson
I always said I hate fantasy books but I read legend born this year and have never been more excited to read more in the new year! It really is about getting past the first 100 pages and then there’s no stopping
my favorite book is A Little Life. Literally, Hanya has my heart. Her writing is so eloquent and beautiful! I don't know what does that says about me tho lol
“great expectations” by dickens is currently my read, and i’m about to finish it and i’m loving it!!! and honestly it’s great to heard your thoughts about the ghosts part, because i feel the same!
I’m so happy I found your channel in 2021!! Here were my top reads of the year: - Me Before You by Jojo Moyes (yes I’m late to the party, but WOW favorite romance to date) - I Will Teach You to be Rich by Ramit Sethi (helped me to leveled up my finances as I pay my way through grad school) - Infinite Country by Patricia Engel 🇨🇴 - Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer was music to my environmental scientist heart - Sigh, Gone by Phuc Tran (best memoir with audiobook read by the author, stunning immigration story with punk rock and books as his influences, what more could you want?!) - Firekeeper’s Daughter by Angeline Boulley (best YA of the year, dovetails nicely with Braiding Sweetgrass with its indigenous wisdom) - It’s Okay that you’re not Okay by Megan Devine (highly recommend for any grievers, this helped me cope with the loss of my dad this year) - How the Word is Passed by Clint Smith!!! I wish he was my history teacher, the audiobook read by him was so enlightening - What Happened to You? by Dr. Bruce Perry (on trauma, highly recommend the audiobook read by him and Oprah) I am going down the comment section and adding so many exciting reads for 2022!
i started my reading journey back in july after having some dark times and my favorite books i read this year were - Ensayo sobre la ceguera (Blindness) - José Saramago - Siddharta - Herman Hesse - The Sorrows of Love - The School of Life - Normal People - Sally Rooney - Las elegidas - Jorge Volpi
love your recommendations and you look absolutely amazing as per usual! my top picks this year were: - dominicana - the 7 husbands of evelyn hugo - the midnight library - pachinko (LOVE intergenerational stories) - city of girls (7 husbands energy - being transported to another era is just *chefs kiss*) this year i really want to focus on more POC stories and read more books in Spanish as well!
I want to thank you so much for all the recommendations but especially for the cancer warning, I’ve been through it and having the theme come up in entertainment is always very triggering as most of the time we all know what happens to that person and/or not done in a respectful/tasteful way. It also simply brings you back to that time and you wouldn’t want to read that at bedtime cause it will definitely make not sleep and spiral down into bad thoughts. Xx
One of my favorites was This Will All Be Over Soon by Cecily Strong. It’s a memoir about her going through 2020 and 2021. It’s dark but truthful. She really talks about grief and struggling with mental illnesses during the panorama (you know what I mean). She doesn’t really talk about Saturday Night Live so don’t read it if that’s what you’re looking for. There’s one chapter where she talks about being in a toxic and abusive relationship, so beware of that if you’re thinking of picking it up.
My Favourite book of 2021 is The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue. I read it while listening to the Audio narrated by Julia Whelan (Also my favourite narrator). This book has become my favourite book of all time and it will take an exceptional book to bump it off the my top spot. I hope you have an amazing 2022!!
i LOVED know my name by chanel miller like her writing was immaculate and i'm also from the bay and i remember the fallout from both that case and the gunn high school suicides and how it impacted our school district
I read 57 books this year! So proud of myself! My favourite would be Lust for Life by Irving Stone, a historical fiction all about Van Goghs life. Absolutely incredible read!!

My favorite book was The Push by Audrey Audrain. I related to it so much as a mother of teenager and the difficulties in raising her and how it impacts my self. Plus, the twist at the end was AMAZING!!
The Push, Finlay Donavan is killing it, my best friends exorcism, southern book clubs guide to slaying vampires, and Dave grohls memoir were my most memorable books of 2021

7.Ready Player One
8.The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
9.Everything I never told you
10.The curious incident of the dog in the night-time
I love that you won't shut up about The Heart Principle because I, also, loved this book SO MUCH and have seen so many "this isn't a romance!" negative reviews of it, which drives me nuts.
There was more but these stood out the most from 2021
1. Carry by Toni Jensen
2. Why Fish Don’t Exist by Lulu Miller
3. Depression, Anxiety, and Other Things We Don’t Want To Talk About by Ryan Casey Waller
4. The Travelling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa
5. When The Elephants Dance by Tess Uriza Holthe
My favorite reads this year were:
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Im Thinking of Ending Things by Ian Reid
The Hating Game by Sally Thorne
The Song of Achilles by Madalyn Miller
I LOVED Everything I Never Told You, so I'll definitely try a couple more of your recs. Know My Name sounds so interesting. And If We Were Villains has been on my radar for a while.
The winter promise series was amazing!! I wish that series had more of a fan base because I thought it was amazing
I’m so glad I came across this video. I’ve read a few of your favourites and I’m excited to read a few more!
It was thanks to you Noelle that I read Everything I never told you. It was absolutely brilliant and I found it so sad.
My top 5 this year were:
1. A Psalm For The Wild-Built - Soft & Whimsical Sci-Fi Novella - I think you'd actually really like this!
2. In The Dream House - as you know, Carmen Maria Machado, an icon.
3. Act Your Age Eve Brown - if you know, you know
4. The Poppy War - favorite fantasy
My favorite was the picture of Dorian gray and the invisible life of Addie larue those books were fantastic and Mesmerizing
my favs were Plain Bad Heroines, Everyone in This Room Will Someday Be Dead, The Hundred Year House, and In the Dream House. i also loved The Echo Wife, They Never Learn, Beach Read, and We Have Always Lived in the Castle.
I JUST found your channel and 1. The aesthetics of your bg, 2. your voice. 3. your face, 4. the way you talk about books. Im in love. Respectfully.
the Kiss Quotient absolutely stole the show for me this year!!! I read it about three times back to back; I couldn't get enough!!!!
Great Expectations is my favorite book! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!!
I also read Dracula for the first time this year too! Carmilla was one of Bram Stoker's inspiration, and is one of my favorite short stories of all time! 💕📚
"Her Body and Other Parties" was def one of my favorite books of 2021 too! "In the Dream House" was a great one also!!
I like you and your taste in books. I’ve read half of those books and looooooove them, so now I’ll read the rest and I’m sure I’ll enjoy them
I need all of these books on my bookshelf immediately! 💫 Keep rising to be who you want to be! 💫 #keeprising #risingtobe #aswerise #riser
Please take this as a compliment- I think you talk just like Owen Wilson and it's amazing
From my top 3 books, 2 are very heavy with the other being YA fiction 🤷♀️:
1) The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
2) Maus 1&2 by Art Spiegelman
3) Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson
I always said I hate fantasy books but I read legend born this year and have never been more excited to read more in the new year! It really is about getting past the first 100 pages and then there’s no stopping
my favorite book is A Little Life. Literally, Hanya has my heart. Her writing is so eloquent and beautiful! I don't know what does that says about me tho lol
“great expectations” by dickens is currently my read, and i’m about to finish it and i’m loving it!!! and honestly it’s great to heard your thoughts about the ghosts part, because i feel the same!
I’m so happy I found your channel in 2021!! Here were my top reads of the year:
- Me Before You by Jojo Moyes (yes I’m late to the party, but WOW favorite romance to date)
- I Will Teach You to be Rich by Ramit Sethi (helped me to leveled up my finances as I pay my way through grad school)
- Infinite Country by Patricia Engel 🇨🇴
- Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer was music to my environmental scientist heart
- Sigh, Gone by Phuc Tran (best memoir with audiobook read by the author, stunning immigration story with punk rock and books as his influences, what more could you want?!)
- Firekeeper’s Daughter by Angeline Boulley (best YA of the year, dovetails nicely with Braiding Sweetgrass with its indigenous wisdom)
- It’s Okay that you’re not Okay by Megan Devine (highly recommend for any grievers, this helped me cope with the loss of my dad this year)
- How the Word is Passed by Clint Smith!!! I wish he was my history teacher, the audiobook read by him was so enlightening
- What Happened to You? by Dr. Bruce Perry (on trauma, highly recommend the audiobook read by him and Oprah)

- A Little Life
- In The Dream House
- Far From You
- It Ends With Us
I want to thank you so much for all the recommendations but especially for the cancer warning, I’ve been through it and having the theme come up in entertainment is always very triggering as most of the time we all know what happens to that person and/or not done in a respectful/tasteful way.
I just received Know My Name from Amazon. I can’t wait. The Push was my #1.
OMG I'm so excited for Book Lovers!!!
I finally read Song of Achilles in 2021 and it's my new all-tine favorite tbh!!!!
Great recommendations! I love how Noelle exercises all her facial muscles and munches her words so theatrically when talking. I am here for it.🙂
