They Said It Was Dangerous In These Areas Of Bangkok

  • This is an area of Bangkok that most people do not get to see or visit as there is an inherent amount of danger. I would guess that most Bangkok tourists are too scared to come here, or just don't know these areas exist. I love the peaceful and serene nature of places like this. Today I take you on an afternoon, point of view, motorbike adventure to some areas that are simply unknown to most tourists. Even many local Thai people either don't know these exist, or just never visit these areas. Getting lost in these back alley pathways is something I really enjoy doing. Join me as I explore these lesser known areas by motorbike for the first time. We will uncover some awesome hidden pathways and local communities that very few people know about, and even less go to explore. Did I mention that I did this on one of the hottest days? It's time for another afternoon POV motorbike excursion in Thailand.

    Future video suggestion?
Owning a dog in Thailand when retired. Or volunteering at dog shelters. Pet friendly accommodation and do these accoms have per toilet / garden areas eg on rooftops? Dog parks, price of dog food. Quarantine if bringing dog over from overseas? I’m waiting til my 13yo lab passes over before moving there as wouldn’t want him to go through the flight or quarantine at his age but might like to volunteer at dog shelters to get my dog “fix” while living there eventually.
    Enjoyed your roaming video.
Oh another video idea ? Cost of buying water per day ie in bulk or do people get filters for home? Can you filter the tap water is that drinkable then? Or cost to buy all drinking water? Where does tap water come from that makes it so undrinkable in bkk? Are there any plans to have a vending machine type device where you bring your own bottle, pay 5-10 baht to top up your own bottle to lessen plastic ending up in environment? Is recycling big there???
Oh another thought? Do they have free range eggs? They must go through lots of eggs on all the meals that they serve eggs with. Are chickens treated humanely? The egg producing ones or is it cage eggs? Such a large population and huge egg turnover. Would be interested to learn about conditions of where they’re obtained from.
Oh and another idea: vegan / vegetarian friendly restaurants, ease of buying these meals, is this type of eating popular other than at festive times eg the red and yellow signs I’ve seen? I’m pescaterian (veg with the occasional seafood) just wondering how many vegetarian friendly restaurants there are of course Indian always has great choices too.
Hope your back is getting better after your new years fall. Sometimes things take a while to fully heal. Take care Serg. Thx for another great video! 😎👏🏼🙌🏼

The scenery is beautiful, been doing some bike trips with my gf and take the ferry at pier Wat Bang Na Nok to the peninsula, but the one thing you cannot unsee or ignore is the pungent smell and sight of garbage everywhere in the klongs. It's sad nothing happens with that.

I know it’s incredibly hot and humid there riding on your scooter cycle.
I rode big cruiser bikes for nearly a decade 365 24-7 here in Texas much of that in 110 F, but dry heat. Before setting out in the heat I would soak a quick dry ventilated t shirt in cold water and take an insulated bottle full of be ice cold water to resoak the shirt as needed.
Looks like fun exploring the BKK klongs and alleyways. As you know Bangkok Pat does this on foot discussing history along the way. Your way is quicker.
Good to know you can always hit a Wat for a restroom break.
    Take care.

I lived in Austin for a year before I moved to Thailand. I remember it being 115° and I was still riding my bicycle around Lady Bird lake. That was not very smart of me. Typically I wear full gear. It keeps from getting sunburned and actually keeps me a little bit cooler. I also don’t really like riding in shorts and T-shirt, there’s absolutely no protection in case of an accident.
Bangkok Pat is like an encyclopedia when it comes to Bangkok. He definitely has his own style, and I think it’s pretty cool.

I noticed RUclips has stopped sending replies to comments and new videos notifications from channels. Anyone else experiencing the same troubles.

You have to have notifications turned on. I still get notified of all the subscriptions I have, but you have to make sure that the little bell icon is checked with “all“ selected.

How/Where is your camera set up when riding? What type of camera?

    • @LifewithSerg
      @LifewithSerg  5 месяцев назад +1

My main camera is my iPhone 13 Pro Max. That’s also what I typically hold, or tuck into my backpack center strap while I’m writing. The 360° camera is an Insta 360 RS One Inch camera. It’s a great camera, but unfortunately, it adds so much more workflow when editing.

You should get a helmet mount or chest mount for your camera, much safer

    • @LifewithSerg

I usually tuck it into the cross strap on my back pack. You are correct, this is not safe.

Yes, I understand what you’re saying. This was just the last-minute thing. I know it was too hot, I must’ve drank eight or 10 bottles of water that day.

Because I was using a 360° camera, I used the fisheye lens setting to give a wider field of view. It makes everything appear much faster than it really is. Even when I watch it, it looks very fast. It’s just an optical illusion from the fishy lens angle. If I had changed it to a flat setting, it would’ve looked much slower, which it was in reality.

Some of the metal hardware on this helmet is already rusting after only a year. I don’t want to get it wet more than I have to. I’ll be buying a much higher quality helmet.
