Yes, welcome to Home Free, all acapella, no instruments at all. Masters of all musical genres. They won the 4th season of the Sing Off in 2013. Their covers are upgrades, their medleys are brilliant, their collaborations with the original artists are inspirational, and their original songs are masterpieces. Within this 5 man vocal band you have 5 tenors, 5 beat boxers, and 2 bass-baritones. All of them can sing lead and they choose depending on whose voice best fits the song. They can do just about anything and they continue to grow and improve, yet they remain so humble. When they have featured guest artist, they support and allow their featured artists to shine. Several of them have their own channels and do some solo work. And just for fun Rob and Austin sing Opera. What else can I say? Their catalogue of work is quite large and continues to grow. You are in for an exciting journey and the Home Fries will be there for you all the way.
You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
Home Free is an amazing group. The beatboxer is incredible and they all sing lead depending on the song. They can also all beatbox to a degree. They sing covers but also write and sing their own songs. Enjoy!
Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole! Everything you hear comes from their mouths no instruments. They are in my opinion the best acapella group around. Keep checking them out you will love them as us Home Fries do. Home Fries is what we fans call ourselves. Love your reaction!
Thanks for this reaction! Home Free is my favorite group - a capella or otherwise. This was the first song I heard by them as well - about three years ago. I quickly became a home fry and have seen them live three times. They're just such a good group of guys and so talented! I hope you will explore more of their music. They were classified as "country" when they appeared and won the Sing Off in 2014, but they never considered themselves to be limited (in a "box") before that. There are no instruments (unless they are prominently displayed) and all sounds are made with their voices. We home fries call beatboxer Adam Rupp's harmonica imitation the "nomonica". They cover nearly every genre and have several great originals as well. Whatever they do is fantastic! If you decide to go down the rabbit hole, you will attract many of us home fries to your channel. The videos you're likely to watch will feature the same 5 guys with one exception. The ones before sometime in 2017 will feature Chris Rupp as baritone; after his departure from the group the videos/songs will feature Adam Chance as baritone. The group: Austin Brown - high tenor (main featured vocalist in Man of Constant Sorrow) Rob Lundquist - tenor (to Austin's right, thick beard and overalls) Chris Rupp (pre-2017) or Adam Chance (current) - baritone - behind Rob, made the mouth harp sound Tim Foust - Deep bass (but a 5 octave range so can sing anything) Obvious which one he was lol Adam Rupp - Beatboxer and all ranges of vocals as well - again, obvious which one he was in this video Adam Rupp and Chris Rupp are brothers who started the group in Minnesota in 2000 (I think). Chris left the group to pursue his own career in music in 2017 and was replaced by Adam Chance. As more Home Fries see this reaction, I'm sure you will be inundated with many more comments. They will suggest other songs for you to react to. I can't think of a bad one so you can't go wrong with any you choose. Enjoy the trip!! - Tim
Great reaction and thanks for sharing. Home Free is a country a cappella band, but they also sing every style. This song is well over 100 years old and probably would be called folk or traditional and not country as that is a more recent name for the genre. Country now incorporates, western, folk, traditional, blue grass, blues and rock/pop. Home Free has a great sense of humor in their muscial choices, 'The Butts Remix' is hilarious, 'All About that Base' and 'Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget'; variety: 'Helplessly Hoping' 'Folsam Prison Blues' 'Sea Shanty Melody'; then there is there versions of Christmas and traditional Religious songs, plus so many original and covers. You really cannot go wrong going down this rabbit hole. So many its hard to list all the wonderful songs they have done. Chris
with 14 albums and over 140 videos and being a group for 20yrs Home Free covers all genres! They a perfectionists with there vocals as I've NEVER heard a bad release... of course some are better then others depending on your taste or insight. Welcome to the rabbit hole of Home Free! Check out their RUclips page and vault of awesome music. Will add 3-5k on your views. peace
I'm glad you liked it! ❤ Home Free is an amazing bunch of very talented singers. They cover many different types of music. Their covers of End of the road, Helplessly hoping, and Brothers in arms are all wonderful. They also have many fun songs too.
Since no one else has, here are the members; Austin Brown (tenor) is the lead singer in this song, Rob Lunquist (tenor), guy with the glasses, Adam Rupp (beatboxer) is the one playing the 'nomonica', Adam Chance (baritone, and goes by Chance to avoid confusion) is the guy on the rear left, and Tim Foust (calling Tim a bass is like calling the Empire State Building just a tall building). Welcome to a very deep rabbit hole.
Welcome to the Home Free party! They have a very deep and varied catalog. I would suggest The Driver or Helplessly Hoping for something quite different from this one.
Thank you so much Kateryna for your reaction to the absolute best acapella group in the world, whose beatboxer, Adam Rupp, has won multiple World Championships in beatboxing 🤗! You may enjoy their recent pirate song "Skull and Bones" here ruclips.net/video/ESNrc57GHiQ/видео.html or their other one "Sea Shanty Medley" (on their RUclips channel here: ruclips.net/video/lLGLUSzzuWU/видео.html ) 🥰! This is Appalachia/blue grass music. More towards the east coast of USA. Not the same as our Country music. Awesome song non the less.
