We have 2 shower pumps from a single cylinder. One sits under the cylinder and supplies 2 ensuites. Another one sits under the family bath and supplies the bath and shower above. The plumber didn't install a flange as he didn't want to risk breaking the old cylinder ( that is what he claimed to!). The salamander plastic double impeller pump below the bath packed up in 6 months. Replaced with brass salamander pump now. The brass Stuart monsoon sitting at the bottom of the cylinder supplying 2 ensuites runs fine. We do worry running 3 showers ( living with 2 teenagers) simultaneously will empty the cylinder out😢.

Hello, wat water storage capacity (the size of the cylinder) do you have? Could you please send your request with the photos of installation (cylinder and pump) to Tech@Salamanderpumps.co.uk for our tech team to look at your case.

We’ve just had a new bathroom fitted and the plumber admitted his ballsup. He plumbed the mains cold water @3bar to the mixer valve and gravity fed hot water supply. Excellent if you want a really cold shower! The pressure is terrible for a warm shower. Would fitting a full house salamander to the hot only (if possible) boost the hot to a better level so the mixer knows wtf is going on? 🤭

Thanks for this very informative video…
Now, is there a way of reducing/avoiding that delay on the top tap?
I mean is there a way to avoid this delay by installing some extra hardware.?

The first delay is likely air as air in system (1-2secs) which when purged it comes out straight away - that’s just because the pump works on sensing a drop in pressure then kicks in- again its very slight before activating.

It’s only a 2 second delays man, damn! How serious do you take life that a 2 second delay upsets you

I’ve a Grundfos pump pressuring a shower, it’s a twin pump coming off a cylinder. Tap pressure has always been terrible, would i need another pump for the taps?

You can supply both the shower and taps from one twin pump. For example, our Right Pumps range are a whole house pumps, a twin pump will supply both the hot and cold and the performance ranges from 1.5- 3.0 Bar.

so I have the issue with my hot tap mostly, even downstairs in the kitchen. I think its partly to do with the mixer tap fitted but moreso the use of 8mm braided tails feeding hot and cold to it. Cold is fine, hot is poor.
Would this pump still manage to improve my flow, I'm guessing it must!

8mm is restrictive so the natural flow wont be strong enough to lift the float in a positive head pump, however a neg pump it will allow the hotside to be pumped matching the cold.
