    Thanks so much for this video! I am an ED RN and have been trying to make masks since the Covid 19 pandemic started. I am really not a sewer so I was looking for a pattern that was easy to do and your is absolutely the best on the web in my opinion. Your instructional demo was so easy to follow along with that I was not not intimidated to try. I just finished the first on except for the wire which I will do later and love the fit! I am cutting out the next one now! Again, THANKS from the front line!!!!

      You are so welcome! I love hearing that you are a new sewer and you were able to make this mask and you found the instruction easy to follow. You made my day just hearing this and even more special that I was able to help someone on the front line. Thank you so much! I also just purchase these nose bridge and they do work better and you don't have to use the heat and bond. just put the inside and sew in place. amzn.to/3ecP3W4 they can be placed outside the mask as well. Stay Safe and Healthy

    Excellent tutorial! I've made over 100 masks of another style and just happened on your video today. I'm actually looking forward to making them again and the nose wire encased is brilliant! As a reminder, when you print the pattern be SURE your printer is set to "actual size" not "fit to page" as the pattern will not be the correct size. Two comments for beginners - be careful not to sew over your pins - it can break your needle! It's good practice to put your pins up and down (perpendicular to the fabric) rather than the same direction you are sewing. If you can find Batik fabric - it has a much tighter weave than regular quilting cotton. Again, what a great tutorial and the options are so helpful! Many thanks and stay safe!

    I have made several different patterns for masks, but this one is the best! It fits well, your instructions are easy to follow, and the masks are very well made. I found the mask holds up so well that I didn't have to put in the nose piece at all. I made about 30 in the last few days and everyone loves them!

    I am new to your channel was searching for a tutorial to help me follow the mask pattern that I purchased from another RUclipsr and stumbled across your video. I seen over 20 RUclips mask demonstrations and this video for me beats them all. Your video is clearly detailed, understood, simplistic, and free. The other video seems so complicated , some want money, tutorials given too fast to be understood, or too lengthy where your no longer interested. I was so desperate I paid the few bucks for my pattern. You instructions gave me enough time to make my mask along with you. Not to mention your video was short and to the point. I am truly impressed. You are the best by far. A big thank you. I am now a new follower. I will watch you channel keep the videos coming. Again thank you!

      Wow! Thank You so much. I appreciate your great review . I am so happy to hear it was simple and easy to follow along. I try hard not add any extra stuff and shorten the video as best as possible. I also don't feel it necessary to charge people if we can profit off the advertisement from our video. Your comment has made me more motivated to continue what I have been doing. Thank You.

      Same for me. Either the demonstrators weren't thorough with their tutorial, especially for a beginner like myself, or it just didn't make sense and I didn't like the finished product. This one by far beats at least the 10 or so I've looked at and tried. Thanks for the great tutorial...

      Nicely done to tutorial. Maybe a little too so much stitching through the fabric in front. Holes are holes.
      Would be nice to see the finished product put on a face to see how it fits and covers.

    This is the best tutorial I've seen in weeks. I admit that I'm a 54yo newbie eager to learn on how to sew. I bought a low end sewing machine last week and was only able to get some fabrics last monday when the stores finally opened after 9 weeks of lockdown. Up to today, I've wasted over a yard of fabric due to bad patterns out there (there was one pattern that was supposed to be an adult size and the finished mask would be the perfect fit for your doll, that's how small it ended up!). I've found the same pattern as yours, but the tutorials were terrible... I was able to cut and prep 8 masks today but every tutorial weren't enough detailed for the assembly and really thought my sewing journey was over; so I decided to look again and found you! You are my hero and can't thank you enough for your video. Best regards.

Thank You so much for your kind words. It means a lot to me.

    Your video is excellent. You take your time to explain instructions and to give options. There is no guessing on any of the details. I am going to dust off my sewing machine and get started on making masks. Thank you for the inspiration. I am a health care worker (respiratory therapist) and am tired from working so many shifts but on my day off I will be making masks and scrub hats. God bless and take care everyone. Let’s take care of each other. 💗😘 I forgot one recommendation: do not use straight pins because they create holes in the mask that the virus can get through. Use clips instead. 💕

    I wish I could add a picture. It started out as a volunteer project with Olson masks. My former boss, and now friend, helped me make my first masks. So, I probably wouldn't do as well as I do if I hadn't had her guidance, but that said, I LOVE YOUR PATTERN! It is the only one I use now. You can have a filter or not, you can have a nose wire or not and it's so easy to add to it. I was just making masks for my son's non-for-profit, and I wanted to stop and thank you for all you do and your amazing teaching skills!

    I have made a few masks - all different patterns. I saw your video so thought I would give it a try. Glad I did, because this is by far the BEST pattern I have used. The pattern is great and your video is very very easy to follow. The mask fits me perfectly and I like the fact that there is a place for a filter too. I liked your tip for covering the wire also - so easy to do. Very very good pattern and video. Thank you for sharing. I will most definitely be using this pattern from now on.

    I love your face mask, was looking for a slightly easier way to insert nose piece and came up with the idea of inserting the nose piece before sewing round the mask. I enclose the wire in the 3 x 1inch of lining fabric, then before sewing around I use an edging foot, supplied with my Bernina sewing machine 54 years ago, I put the selvedges all together with centre of wire at the centre join and sew around as per your demonstration before turning the mask right side out. it speeds up everything quite a bit.

    Love your tutorial! You probably have heard this, but I have one suggestion - people have suggested that the virus can travel through pinholes, and so many are using little clips instead of pins to hold fabric together. I don't know how big a risk pinholes really are, but thought I would pass it on. Thanks so much for your instruction!

    • @Lelesdesigns
      @Lelesdesigns  4 года назад +1

      I was undecided on weather I use pins or clips on this video. I decided on pin as that is all what people might have on hand and maybe they had hair clips. but I didn't want anyone to go out and buy something that might not be needed. I'm not sure of the risk of the pinholes too and after all the sewing machine needle is punching quite a few hole as you sew.
      Thank You so much for your kind words and letting others know as I am still up in the air on using clips or pins. Hopefully others will see your message and can decide what they like to use.

      M Brack you would be right to be concerned if you were dealing with covid patients, but for wearing on public transport or to the shops, this mask, with a dry baby wipe or a paper towel in the filter pocket would be fine.

    I enjoy your simple explanation and natural way of speaking. The only thing I have a problem with is the elastic stitching. I have to hand stitch. My Husqvarna would grab that little bit of elastic and pull into bobbin area and ruin it. Also, I made the regular size for myself and woman friends/family and we have to have 8" of elastic, and since handstitching it is a tiny overlap. I like the cotton tshirt - I leave the knot out at the bottom, it keeps it from bulking up when folding over and you can cut it and re-tie if it stretches out too much - or to modify for wearer. The xl fits husband and boys well, but have to fold fabric over the elastic further or it gaps on the side. It's a great pattern, and as every sewer knows there's always modifications!

    • @Lelesdesigns
      @Lelesdesigns  4 года назад

      I agree the way I did the elastic does not work for everyone and it don't work for some machine. I did update this video and pattern. Not sure if you seen that video.
