the sunspears are about to look very silly without spears now
There are sunspear paragons in the game still
Ah, they've had their fun. It's our time!!
This expansion so far is looking good
They are continuing three features from soto which were overall positively received (relic's, vault, convergences)
And on top of that they will be doing three instead of two endgame bosses (raid) with additional difficulty
Aaand on top of that they are upgrading one mount just like in soto, with additional work for WVW
Aaaand even more on top of that they are introducing housing
Apart from that, weapons looks even better than those SOTO ones (animations are way better and design more complex)
Enemy models are also looking more original.
If they deliver on encounter design, open world exploration and story... this might as well be the best expansion so far
Necro greatsword: "Who are you?"
Necro Spear: "I'm you, but stronger."
Better fkin not happen the only reason i even made a necro is because it can wield GS.

My guess is spear won't be as high sustained dps, but it might edge out Greatsword on Harbinger due to the lack of chill synergy.

Honestly was expecting for Necro spear to be condi, since it lacks the melle condi weapon
I just hit level 80 on my Necro main and I'm definitely looking forward to the spear. The stuff they showed looks really cool and I like similar mechanics in other games I play.
I do hope they rework some other weapons to be better for support Scourge like you said too!
If warrior spear is staff, but more damage and no heals I'll lol.

I like where the content is going, new weapons are what everyone asked for, now just as you mentioned I really wished they would add more utility and elites to base classes and even elite specs.
The stealth on ranger spear scares me a lot for pvp. Even if spear doesn't do much damage, they can just stealth, weapon swap, and then one-shot you from invisibility. Just imagine an invisible soulbeast walking up behind you.
I dont have to imagine it, invisible virt are the bane of my baby roaming in wvw lol

Stealth bursts are nothing new, unfortunately. We already have axe thief bursting for 20K since the weapon got released. PvP has been just about who can one shot first since SotO.
The guardian summoning spears raining down gives some eso templar spear shards.
Stamplar stabby spam all day.
Maybe it grants Vigor :D.
I miss my templar, was my favorite class before I quit. Maybe Imma touch some grass at eso lol
Regarding necro: Yes, this could be a supplementary weapon for greatsword, but couldn't they just tweak those weapons you mentioned to better fit as a secondary set for power necro instead of giving them another power weapon? If you ask me, it's stupid that necromancer of all professions is the only one that doesn't have a melee condi weapon. Guess now we have to wait until the next xpac to get that...
Imo they should remake mainhand dagger to be a condi melee weapon. It’s essentially useless as is, most daggers are condi weapons, and dagger OH is already a condi weapon
@@Skyhigh91100 mainhand dagger is actually a meta option for power necro builds.
But honestly would you WANT to have melle condi option since you would want to stay at range, and nothing can beat scepter at this point? I would argue that some kind of condi cleave would be nice, though

I really hope Spear becomes a viable alternative to Greatsword on Reaper, compared to faster attacking weapons GS always feels like i have to commit an effort to kill each enemy + i just want something new to play without having to learn a whole class or cut my dmg down significantly, so yeah i'm praying to the ANet overlords to finally after years of only Greatsword change things up a bit and give me something new as a main weapon.
kind of wish the Spear acts as a third weapon kit activated with an action button or even in the same way you activate the kryptis rift search. Also how cool would it be to be able to use the spear while mounted ! Doesn't have to be the same as on foot, but a least throw spears while mounted
Can definitely see people complaining about lack of content with this expansion thoough, raid wing 8, a fractal (at the end of the expansions release cycle) new weapon skills for each class with spear and housing....when ya compare it to sotos feature, soto added a lot more

@@drayosstormrage5885 skyscale new aquisition and skills, elite spec unbindings to let use any weapon, new weapons, 2 strike missions, 1 fractal, convergence, 4 maps and 3 new pets for the ranger
I cannot wait to witness the rest of the spears. I never played Engineer, but oh dear, I really hope they get a weapon they are happy with this time! I cannot wait to see the Power Shadow Magic spear for Thief. Please for the love of all Quaggans, do not let the thief spear be a support weapon...

It seems like the spears have competitive use in mind then Im guessing theyll let the community determine optimal PvE rotations then they can just do QoL and number tweaks at the following patch to make PvE balanced.
I'm trying to watch Shogun but for some reason all I can see is Teapot when the main character is on screen.
I wonder if soto was done by the B team, is Janthir being done by the A team?

builder - spender mechanic was good while few classes had it in wow , then eveyry single spec was changed into builder - spender and its totally dogshit ... hopefully Anet wont make same mistake
I guess they're going the right way. The only real builder spender weapon is necros. The guardian one is meant for good positioning and ranger's is choice making
Hear me out. The new legendary spear should have a different custom look for every profession, nothing too major but enough to make it look unique. Maybe the design you get when it is crafted is that of your crafting profession and then you can craft an upgrade to unlock each of the other skins but isn't money or mat heavy . It CANNOT be sold on the trade post. Sold. Take my money!
Guardian lore is Paragon and Monks from gw1, i don't know why guardian isnt getting range spear. They already ruined/used the f1-3 abilities(spear, wings, shiled) for dragon hunter ....that should of been called paragon lol

It's confirmed...the new expansion will be roleplay focused...
These explanations for weapons are similar to the lore (in-universe and in blog posts) that we had for PoF’s elite spec weapons. It doesn’t mean the expansion is going to be focused on roleplay.
There’s space enough in the expansion for things that appeal to all sorts of players.
What does role-play focus mean lol?
What is that even suppose to mean? You've said that just because of homesteads? Lol the game is always role-playing focused, that's why it's an mmo-'rpg'. Always new areas, new things to add to the role-playing in every expansion.

It is lol. Even more doomer than Teapot has become recently. I like teapot but i cannot stand the chat lol, nothing is ever good for them. Honestly the first chat I've had that reaction to, normally I don't care about how the chat is and can just vibe alongside them. But recently it has just become a bunch of people who hate that they like GW2 and yet want GW2 to be WoW
