We walked from Worcestershire to Herefordshire on a week's camping trip when I was at School, I think I was in year 7. We climbed up Hereford cathedral tower and had a tour of the ringing room and the rooftop outside. I remember the metal lightning strips round the parapet and the clock hammers shaking the ringing room when it struck 3. I also remember the lady telling us about it all had a very distinctive southern English accent, quite possibly London or Essex around the area my Grandmother's family lived in the late 50s early 60s before we moved to Surrey.
@@fredmills368 Wish I'd asked where you can get those miniature tower bell demo models. I'd love one of them in my collection of other small bells, since owning a full size tower bell wouldn't be on the cards for obvious reasons.
Oh my god absolutely amazing! My auntie lives nearby this cathedral and when I came to visit her we heard the clock chiming and I would love to say thank you for this vid!
great video!
