A agricultural 6 in Leciestershire I rang at on a ringing tour, Rung from a gallery over looking the church, bells went fairly heavy for what they are but were pleasant enough sounding, Taylors of loughborough cast treble and second with the remainder cast by Hugh Watts of Leciester, Seen here is the bells ringing Cambridge Minor 6 bells 7cwt in A

I take no credit for this recording. I merely found it off the internet. This is my local tower where I ring every week before covid lockdown they are a heavy ish 10 of mixed warner and whitechapel founders. They go well and were rehung in 2008 Tenor 19-0-12 in Eb

Dorking or a beautiful 10 in E cast in 1999 by taylors and rehung with a new frame and fittings. In this video they are ringing grandsire triples on the back 8. I do not own this video and I won't be credited for it. Please enjoy it none the less :) Tenor 18-1-18 in E

Bell Ringing at Guildford Cathedral
to make that a mini ring your technicaly gona have those bells tuned oh and its still not the first lego mini ring cause once again it needs tuning and i am about to make a lego mini rinng with big bells can clearly be heard and tuned
My very earliest memories are these bells. I now live in Australia, and it is amazing to be able to have this sound from 50 years ago be available. Thanks so much for uploading ❤
Glad to have bought back memories :)
Remind me of Richmond.
Did you know ringer ollie wears nappies for fun
BAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH
lol
great video 🔔
For some reason they have that same punch to Chipping Campden.
Both grand sets of bells aye :)
big like 👍
It’s in E# not in F
E sharp is not a musical note its borderline yes but it classed as F
@@fredmills368 They only use E Sharp if the ring is tuned to C#. But in technical terms, the bell here is flat of F.
great video!
well done!
amazing!
wooooo amazing!
well done
I rung here before.
These are fantastic!!
Their a taylor front 4 and 4 retuned old bells, a joy to ring!
great video, thanks!
I was staying near here a few days ago, use to visit Leicester alot before covid annoyingly before I could ring anything more than rounds
Nice video 🙂👍🏻
So awesome mate 🙂👍🏻
Nice tones from those bells, that church looks awesome as well 🙂👍🏻
That’s a nice church and has nice bells as well 🙂👍🏻
It was a beatifuful building, The bells really match the church well!
@@fredmills368 Yh, I’m hoping to learn how to do some bell ringing soon as well, your friend Fraser said that I could watch him and he would do it with me as well 🙂
Brilliant! good for you, ill warn you its very addicting in a good way, and very rewarding! if frasers helping you, you will be in very capable hands :))
@@fredmills368 Yh, I also warned him that I have epilepsy and could collapse onto the floor as epilepsy is my condition. You could send a friend request to me on Facebook if you wanted if you wanted to know more about me and why I need quite a lot of help with things, I don’t mind 🙂
Yep feel free to drop me a request if you like
I think I was ringing in this.
You could have been I cant honestly remember, What team where you in?
Very nice :)
They are rather nice whilst being rustic
@@fredmills368 I like 'rustic'! There are 6 bells, 5 different founders and 6 different dates. I am always fairly surprised they sound as good as they do from outside 😆
@@clairep6349 Agreed I like rustic aswell the bells mould together extremely well as a ring and have quite a good range sounwise across the village :)
Looks really hard work.
It was! once its turning full circle its okay tho this bell weighed nearly 700kg!
Me ringing!
Ringing here tomorrow and Thursday
No need to be go to the gym if you are a bell ringer - centainly looks like a great way to keep fit.
It certainly is great fun, the stairs up to the tower are even more of a workout than the actual ringing sometimes!
Full marks not getting distracted by the audience.
Very standard Janaway, flowing with character, fitting for such a grand church
Just love the sound of those bells 😇
Thank you! They are lush to ring aswell :)
Does the clock chime?
Yes
They sound more Eb than E
I subscribed.
What is that noise at 0:21 to 0:33?
Clock mechanism
Nice to hear all 8 going.
1:40 sounds like the tenor.
Didnt see this until recently, yes it was the clock chime in the background
These bells have weird tierces in my opinion.
I agree, listening to this video I see what you mean. I pass there regularly and will listen out more carefully next time I hear them ringing
Hi do you ring at all?
@@fredmills368Sadly no but love the sound
Awesome! Great memories of a very happy day.
In my opinion complete waste of money and time.
I agree, these are not tonally good and sound quite bland.
Not a bad sounding eight, these :-)
Indeed they are a good set of bells, easy to ring aswell
Sounds like the back 8 at Moseley. I rung the Tenor there before.
Moseley have more hum and resonance in my opinion.
@@RingerThomas yes. I do too.
@@RingerJack Plus Moseley are 686.0Hz and Ashtead are 693.0Hz. So quite a difference!
@@RingerThomas yes. I can see that
Was you ringing?
No i wasnt ringing in this
was you just saying ‘was’? 😂
Fred, someone stole my profile picture earlier today.
Hi remember me? I'm back now :)
Nice to see you again
You've grown a little taller since you made this video!!
Just a tad 😂
Welcome to another video of the cheap Horsham tower! Only joking, I think these are nicer, just the ringing room is basically identical
😂 interesting description. But yes I agree the two rooms are identical
How many bells has Leatherhead got and how heavy is the tenor?
10 bells 19-0-12 in Eb
Well done mate. Lovely sounding bell!
Thanks, shes mears of 1924 it has a real fitting tone with the rest
Mears did some good minor thirds back then.
Nice job! Tenor next, haha!
Ha thanks this one killed me after doing 7 and 8 prior to it XD. Hopefully tenor in a few weeks just got to let the blisters on my hand and my knees recover :)
Take rope out as it can flap in your face and the bell can drop.
Thanks, was trying to keep bell under control as the rope was extremely long, i didn't let it go up at some points
@@fredmills368 Anyhow. It’s still a good style. And it’s very neat.
@@RingerThomas thanks :)
