  • This is a table top review comparing of the newly introduced TriggerTech Rem700 Trigger $110.00 CND + taxes and shipping (or $89.99USD) to the Jewell HVR Trigger. The TriggerTech Trigger Model I got is the one without a Safety or Bolt Release. The Jewell HVR trigger I got was purchase without a safety or bolt release prices range from $250-300 CND depending on your location and retailer.
    Website:
    www.triggertech...
TriggerTech has achieved a Zero Creep trigger and in the process created one of the most affordable drop in trigger for the Remington 700. Coming from the factory the Trigger I received is set at approximately 3.0lbs. In adjusting the TriggerTech Trigger I back the trigger pull weight set screw until there wasn't any audible clicks. Then turning the set screw back in until i hear 1 audible click to ensure the set screw is engaged with the "click" in order to ensure the screw doesn't back out. This would in theory produce the least pull weight achievable by this trigger. It is not recommend by TriggerTech that the set screw back out any further and a "click" should be engaged to ensure retention of the set screw and safe operations.
There is no sears or over travel adjustments set screw to adjust so there is less likely to create a negligent misfire with the TriggerTech Trigger. Finally series of test produce a pull weight range between 1lbs 7.5oz to 1lbs - 12oz. In my test averaging pull weight about 1lbs 10oz at the lowest possible setting.
Jewell Trigger has no website bus was easily adjustable to 1.5lbs by turning out the set screw that is located on the trigger shoe. Final series of test produce a range from 1lb 7oz to 1.9oz and averaging at 1lb 8oz.
    Conclusion:
    TriggerTech
Pros:The TriggerTech Trigger is the best value trigger on the market. Producing a consistent trigger pull with zero creep and clean break. Price, price and price TriggerTech has provided incredible value for the price compared to Timney or Jewell. Simple adjustment using only on set screw for pull weight. Trigger Tech created a trigger that is a direct competitor to the Timney 510 or Jewell HVR trigger. Did I mention price?
Cons: Vibration and feeling. I can't help but pull the trigger and get a sense of a hollowness or harsh abruptness to the trigger. However it may attributed to the me getting use to a new style of trigger and the way it sets up.
    Jewell HVR:
Pros: A adjustable pull weight range from 8oz-48oz "A" spring installed. Spring can be easily replaced with a lower weight "B" or "C" spring for higher or lighter BR trigger type of pull weight. The Jewell HVR gave a better sense of "surprised" feeling and feedback.
Cons: Price the trigger comes with a high price tag, lack of info or support information.

This video made my day, my Brother gave me a Rem. 700 varmint SPS in 223 with a 26" 1-12 twist barrel in stainless steel, which he got in a trade and said that it has a XMark Pro Trigger that was set to 4oz l said no way could you get that trigger down that far and be safe, l did a search and could not find a trigger like the l had until l found this video it turned out to be a Jewell HVR trigger and l could get it down to 2oz l knew that it was a better trigger then the Rem. stock trigger. l had a Cooper rifle with a Jewell that l was able to set to 6oz, l use to shoot a Rem. 40XBBR with a 2oz trigger in computation in the 70s l well at home with 2 - 4 - 6oz trigger. Thank you for the video now what each screw does.

The Jewell trigger is not a Remington clone. It has a drop-out lever for the sear release. There is zero friction in this trigger.
I have been using one in my sniper rifle for over 20 years. Thousands of rounds fired without any failures. It uses no oil. The design they came up with will be extremely hard to ever get any wear and have any need for spare parts unless you damage it by hitting it with something.
I can't say anything about the TriggerTech, but the Jewell has been the very best I have ever fired. I had it in the sand and was concerned about that, but I never had a problem. I did seal around the action with silicone sealant around the trigger. If you do that, make sure you use a silicone sealer that is electrical grade. The acetic acid vapor released by the "Home Depot" type can cause corrosion. Even automotive grade RTV can corrode. I carried some naphtha with me while deployed to keep it flushed out but was not really putting much effort into that.
It was also fired a lot by some police swat teams and even the FBI. They all loved the zero friction feel of the trigger but felt it was too easy. That is their feel, not mine.
I learned to appreciate the lighter pull. I set the pre-travel to allow me to feel the beginning of the pull and can bring the trigger right up to the release point. With that, it makes it so easy to drop the firing pin when directly on target.

You didn't adjust the triggertech all the way to its minimum weight. The clicks get less audible the further you get to the 1.5 lb limit. According to Triggertech customer service, you can take the adjustment screw all the way out to reach the 1.5 lb pull weight and it will still run safely w/out it.

I have replaced all Trigger tech triggers with Jewel triggers in my rifles. Jewel is far superior

I think the Trigger Tech is the best aftermarket trigger on the market--definitely better than the stock Remington 700 trigger. The Trigger Tech breaks with zero creep and breaks consistently. I like the stainless steel trigger and safety knob. The safety is positive, but completely silent. I won't ever worry about having to spook a deer with a safety click again! I also won't worry about any more Remington trigger recalls--I feel like I shed a potentially serious problem by getting rid of the stock trigger!

I have a trigger tech on a rifle I built my father that goes down to 1.5lbs. on both my benchrifles I run Jewell. How can you say about not knowing where to go for Jewell service. You call Jewell and they have a website. Jewell rains far above trigger tech for rifles used in benchrest and f open class rifle. Like mine that breaks under 2oz TT can't do that.

Do me a favor try loading up some hardcup primers and see if they ignite I have had problems with trigger tech in this respect they feel great but unless you're using match primers unreliable ignition as far as I can tell large group test this is not random statement

Why would you put a $110. Dollar trigger in a Custom gun where you want ultimate accuracy. The Jewel Trigger is The Best! In as far as repairs ? I’ve owned Jewell triggers for over 40 + years: ZERO PROBLEMS. Mine are installed on Remington 700 blue printed action and HV varmint barrels with Custom stocks( have 7 different calibres) Wouldn’t Try Anything Else! This presentation is trying to make plastic trigger a more favourable presence👎

July 2020, the price difference is now $50 US. Why did you compare a trigger that can be set to 1.5 OUNCE to one that can only go down to 1.5 POUNDS? Unwatchable video to boot!

You need only go to www.jewelltriggers.com for support, questions, warranty or anything else. Apparently you did nothing to really search for this as it is EASY to find in a simple Google search. The fact that you could not do this and that you are bent on selling the trigger tech leads us all to believe your results were already filled with bias and prejudice. Reviews are ONLY valuable when you stay objective. You clearly missed this objective.

Please do not do any further reviews or produce videos until you actually know what you're talking about. You've made at least three false claims in this video and all are very misleading to the listener/watcher. You have also compared apples to oranges with these triggers with no mention of spring changes, correct adjustments or the correct way to actually perform trigger pull testing. As if all this is not enough, this is NOT A REMINGTON TRIGGER. STOP CALLING IT THAT. They are VERY different than the Remington triggers. Please stick to your nerd day job.
