Probably the best breakdown of trigger upgrades and exactly what your money is getting you. Thank you Richard. Can we look forward to anymore of your shooting videos? Your 204 Ruger clips are some of my favorites.

I've got an old 40X that I want to replace the trigger because the trigger just isn't cutting it these days. This video was very enlightening. Thanks for sharing!

I just received my Bix'N Andy two-stage and will be putting it on this week. I certainly agree it has the features, now to put in on and see how I do with it. Thanks for the review Richard!

I have the STL Trigger, but sadly not used it yet. The Rifle i wanted to build was never build, due to some reasons. But, here is why i´m writing this: There are 3 Versions of the STL Trigger. The one from your Video, the Sport Model, then the Jagd (hunting) Version and the BS. The Sport is for Single Shot Rifles, the Hunting Model has a safety down by the Triggerblade. And the BS Model has a safety like the original Remington Trigger and a Bolt Release. There are 3 Versions of the springs, too. Number 1 is ~ 56 - 160 Grams, 2 is ~ 70 - 400 Grams and 3 is ~ 250 - 2000 Grams pull weight. Number 2 is Standard, but you can order them with other springs, if you need to.

Thank You for this comprehensive review. Terrific. I believe You when You tell me how one of these triggers really tightened Your groups despite the stock barrel. I need to learn why people like 2-stage. Why isn't the first stage of the 2-stage trigger just like some useless middle-operation when You can get right to it with a single-stage trigger? (What do I know, I have just two rifles I never shot yet, and they have mil-spec triggers, but I just might bite the bullet and spend YET MORE.) Again, many thanks, cheers, Gute Reise! Sincerely, John H., Fairfax, California

I just bought a Bix'n Andy 2 stage but haven't installed it so I am not claiming to be an expert. My understanding of triggers is that with a two stage trigger is that you have some movement before it breaks. The perfect single stage trigger would release as soon as it moved and it would not move until the pull weight is reached. There is actually a slight bit of movement but it is nearly imperceptible. So if we have a 4 pound trigger pull you keep pulling, 1 pound, 2 pounds, 3 pounds, up to 3.99 pounds and it hasn't moved perceptibly. Then that last .01 pound and it releases but most of us can't tell how much pressure we are putting on the trigger so we can't really know when it will release.
With our 2 stage trigger we can set the first stage for 3.75 pounds and feel it stop when it hits the second stage. Then we can know that .25 pound more will release the trigger. So we still have the same total pull weight but can be more sure of when it will actually release. It can be like the safety factor of a heavy trigger but the release of a light trigger.
There are some shooting disciplines that a single stage may be better and some that a 2 stage is better. Personal preference is also a factor.

If you want a better trigger than Bix'nAndy you can use an Anschutz 50XX tiggeer in a Briley Rem700 or win70 adapter.

Thank you for the awesome information! There are a ton of videos show how X brand can go down to X weight but not many mentions about consistency.

Nice video. I just bought a Jewell HVR. I would've bought a Bix'n'Andy but they don't work with the action I'm getting.
