After beating 006 in GoldenEye 007 ( tasvideos.org/... ), Bond returns to fight Renard, another evil genius attempting to take over the world in a plot similar to the movie this first-person shooter is based on. Armed with various new weapons, Bond skis down the Caucasus Mountains, infiltrates a nuclear bunker, and even makes his way into a sub, all within half an hour.
Various glitches are abused here, particularly some that allow Bond to skip some of his objectives and even some entire levels. For more information, see the author's comments ( tasvideos.org/... ).

Whenever I see a TAS of a first person shooter, I always picture how it looks in third person; watching James Bond running down a hallway, face against the wall, and wildly swinging his arm out for a millisecond to shoot a bad guy in the head without looking.
Truly the greatest spy ever.
He even goes ahead and enters an elevator, slaps the wall, and then falls through it, into the tunnels.
this is why i desperately want more fps games to be made tasable

that is actually a good point at the beginning, you're in mi6 headquarters right? so they have no reason to expect that one specific agent should be there to confront them. it makes more sense when they know that specifically an agent identified james bond is infiltrating THEIR base, because presumably their boss got that info and circulated it to them.

I used to play this game so much I would get to the pint of moving quick like this thru the first 4 levels when was a kid and used to leave my 64 on all night so didn't have to start again lol

I could never get past the helicopter battle when I played this as a kid. Now, seeing how many hits the damn thing takes and how long it took a TAS to beat it, I no longer feel any shame. That fight is utter BS.

14:27 the controller must be so confused seeing some guy with a gun jump from a hill into the 2nd story window, climb the stairs to his workspace, and then immediately jump out another window without reacting to the fall to the grass

TWINE is overshadowed by Goldeneye but this is a pretty good game too, except for maybe the last level.

I remember playing the fuck out of this as a kid. But because I didnt have a memory pack (for those who remember, it was a Blue Cart game), i could never save my progress. those first 2 missions are my favorite because i sunk dozens of hours into them as a kid lmao. i just wish i had access to the internet at the time, because i wouldve loved to beat the game at some point. maybe in the future i can do that!
Imagine being one of the guards in the snow level and being one of the lucky few Bond deigns to not kill as he speeds past at the speed of sound.

after having over 60% of the cs2 matches i played today against cheaters. i cant stop feeling a bit o rage when i see those flicks from the TAS

This isn't far off from how I used to play this back in the 90's. You got good from trying to unlock everything for multiplayer.
i love the load times on a n64....
Funny fact: weren't load screens. They just put the screen for a few seconds for promotional purposes

I forgot i had 1.5x speed on and was dumbfounded with how fast it was lol. Its already impressive at normal speed but realized I was watching like 😮

Two things:
1. This final level is so lame comparatively. A swimming section, and a grappling section. Then you kill the big bad with a button press. Boo.
2. They named her "Christmas" in the movie so bond could say "I thought Christmas only came once a year."

It's hilarious that all of the enemies are shouting "BOND IS HERE!" right as they get blasted between the eyes. Like "Yeah, Bond is here, but you aren't anymore."

It's not really cheats a TAS is basically a way to show speed runners the best way to optimize their run and show what's possible.
TAS stands for "Tool Assisted Speedrun" it is self explanatory
This game friggin' sucked. I got it for a birthday present as a kid and traded it for goldeneye with another kid at school. My older brother found out then told my mom and step dad, then they all banded together and said I needed to get it back. I argued it was my game so I should be able to trade it for a game I liked more. I still stand by that today.
In the end I wound up having to trade it back.
I missed my mom's funeral. If I could go back in time, I'd go to it and shove a cartridge of this game down her friggin throat. 🦬
