It's not even greedy, if they'd demanded exclusive pubslihing this thing could've been finished and woud;ve sold phenomenally well, they actually lost money with this decision.
We will never forgive them for taking this away from the people who worked so hard on this. This was something special and thankful we were able to see what we could.
The memories this brings back, thank you! This was always one of my favourite levels and hearing the sound effects and seeing the gameplay again is so nostalgic, yet this version looks SO much better.
Imagining what it would be like if it were complete. Graslu, it is possible that what will be presented here can cause a huge commotion in the GE community and also in James Bond and old FPS fans, to the point that MGM gives in to it, or even gives in to giant pressure of the fans to give their approval for the continuation of this project?
@@Graslu00I believe that with the leak of GoldenEye XBLA in February 2021, the procedures began for the launch of GoldenEye GamePass (which is rubbish) which came to our misfortune, and also had the issue of Project 007 that was announced in the same year in that GE25 received the C&D. So, I believe that these manifestations of GoldenEye can make me think of something in the franchise, however, I understand and agree with your point of view when it comes to MGM.
How faithful the bottling room alone looks to the film is a testament to the passion and love Ben and Yannick have for GoldenEye. One many people around the world share. I’m still not over the fact that this was taken away from a generation of fans.
This is incredibly well-made! The graphics, lighting, shadows, gameplay, interactions, attention to detail, the environment, sound, music, and the ambiance create this perfect storm! It's like "lightning in a bottle"! It's amazing, and the musical score is so awesome! It's from the original musical score, and I love it! Even the highly-detailed AK-47 assault rifles have that same sound from the movie too! Thank you so much for sharing this! It's such a shame the MGM had to cancel this, because it's just so good in everyway!
I really appreciate the desks and tables in the rooms at the bottom of the first staircase. In the movie the facility has so much much going on and it the game it always looked weirdly empty. I enjoyed watching the playthrough of this level immensely, i can tell how much passion and attention to detail was put in. Bravo!
I'm honestly more excited for decompilation projects than I am ANY official release/remake. The original GE/PD play amazingly well with mouse input, and the missions for those games are well designed, something lost in this age of gamedev/industry. What's even better is that the decomps will have things like RT mods, native input methods, updated UIs and assets, online functionalities, and more. With that being said, GE25 looked great and all but the thing that caught my attention most was the audio design for mission cues - those kick some serious ass.
I really wish MGM took this one seriously rather than giving the fan developers a cease and desist letter. This is something I would play on a Switch or on PC. Very detailed.
Wow, this looked really good, I also liked how the briefing folders were in Mi6, Man it really sucks that MGM stopped this, It would have been the best remake of the game.
It's such a shame this had to cease production. The attention to detail is incredible, looks just like the movie. Yannick did an incredible job on the music as well.
I'm in awe at this game. The level of detail is outstanding and the reference to the film with the soundtrack is truly impressive. It really is the Goldeneye remake that we wanted vs what we actually got on PS3 etc. It's a real shame we won't ever see this game in full.
Love this. This is a solid marriage of the game and movie. Looks like game level design but with movie level quality. The music is more similar to the movie as well, more so than the game, which i like.
Es increíble, yo le tengo bastante amor a la música clásica pero esa música usada, es perfecta además que se mira asombroso! Gracias por traernos este video, Gras!
Stays true to the original while adding in just enough extra detail that blends in perfectly. Without making it feel like something else completely. Good job dude
The only legal avenue MGM has to stop a project like this is if the dev team was attempting to sell the game for $$. Fair use protects projects like this from copyright claims. The fact that MGM shut it down means it was not protected by Fair Use. The fact that MGM shut it down is 100% the same thing as the dev team admitting to that copyright violation - thats the only way it can happen. IDK why people don't see that. It's not MGMs fault, the dev team tried to profit off of something they didn't own. Had they shared it freely, no cost, no profit, there would be no copyright violation.
I'll have this premiere for Facility and then another one showcasing every level. The game doesn't have any fully playable level, so I couldn't do that even if I wanted unless they just were walk-arounds. The second premiere with every level will focus on the details of each map and a fly-through to show all the areas.
@@Graslu00Got it, even with the unfinished levels, I will be delighted to see these premieres. I hope they are relevant enough to show the GoldenEye fan community what MGM took from us.
@@Graslu00Do you plan on doing that premiere any time soon? Whilst the game is very unfinished it would be nice to see the areas that are complete in detail.
Man, this project looks and sounds amazing! Even though we'll never get this, it definitely peaks the interest of their other projects. Thank you to the creators for this and to you Graslu for showcasing it!
This video is amazing. I can’t help but laugh at the physics of that lamp at 3:00 he shoots it once and somehow it’s hanging onto the desk by its base, he shoots it again and instead of instantly and dramatically flying off the desk it casually just slides off 😂
This is incredible... disappoints me. We could get a much better remake from passionate fans, than licensed ones, but it'll never happen for legal reasons.
I know this isn't being made, but just for the fun of imagining... Add the nerve gas cannisters in the big loading chamber with pins you can shoot out to make them all fall onto the soldiers, plus add the little trolley of cannisters Bond uses to hide behind (naturally with one squeeky wheel), allow access to the underfloor vent tunnels Bond and 006 use in the movie (I noticed the grills are there on the lab corridor floor, superb!), make rigging the explosives the objective here with them on the 6 minute timer which you then need to reset down to 3 minutes, as in the movie, giving you just under 3 minutes to then get out onto the runway and make your escape in the plane - only then seeing the entire facility go up in flames. Many of these additions would also add a lot more variety to how you could choose to go about the level, with the options there to do things just like in the movie (at least on Agent setting with minimal extra objectives). This would also give an added touch of the hitman47s combined with the classic fps stuff. Add two hands on the guns, proper reload animations (just like Far Cry 5 pretty much) and the full shadow and reflection models of Brosnan Bond in his black military fatigues...voila, absolute perfection and would actually feel like you are James Bond inside that movie. Just wow. I'd give anything for this to be a full and released game, and also my right arm to help work on it purely out of passion, since I know that movie and that game inside out! So impressed with this and so disappointed it was stopped.
big corporations like MGM are just bored with their lives, so they go after people for their own amusement. it was a fan project, not a blatant upload of the movie.
I swear, sometimes it really does feel like all the good things are being opinioneered on social media, then cancelled and history in general even being subtly distorted so everyone thinks everything in the past was just bad and everything corporations feed us now is amazing. The Bond movies have just been systematically dismantled, made into some bizarre depression-fuel that's utterly disrespectful to it's own legacy and then stomped on and sold off to Jeff Bezos... Seriously, what is going on. Cheap, tacky and soulless profiteering is becoming not just the normal business MO but the only big business MO.
This looks fantastic!!! Everything you did from the details of the floors to the sound effects (both classic and modern), to even the slight remix of the BGM of the Facility level is incredible and I’m hoping we all have the chance to play this remake of Goldeneye 007. Hell, I’d love to see sequels of other Bond movies featuring other Bond actors!
The entirety of Goldeneye64 was remade in Far Cry 5's map editor. The originals were C&D'd as well, but then supporters of the project just re-uploaded them, or created their own versions. MGM is like Nintendo for James Bond films :p.
🚨🚨🚨The music, the remastery, the upgraded gun sounds are better, the original nostalgic sounds when shooting enemies is perfect, this is a work of art......no wonder it received a C&D......incredbile artistry Ben
That's exactly how I thought video games would look like in the future back in the day, thinking something like GoldenEye II would come up 😃...😀...🙂...😶...🙄...😑
This look incredible!! I grew up with the N64 and really wish they would remake a lot of these classics like Ocarina of Time exactly as they were gameplay-wise, but with Modern Graphics and Visuals.
Cancelling brilliant labours of love by fans for fans like this is a great way to lose fans of your franchise. Are businesses today actually completely clueless now or something? Have they actually forgotten how to run good businesses that last and continue to make good profits long-term? Because they sure have forgotten how to make a Bond movie apparently, and I mean EVEN within the confines of their desire to turn Bond films into some dreary, endless kitchen sink drama saga...if you go back and watch all those latest era Bond movies, they were clearly just bodged together on the fly and the story arc is completely disjointed and plain doesn't make any sense in a number of places. Though ultimately, I still think Bond movies should be pretty much standalone adventures with only occasional, light and playful references to previous ones for a but of fun. I think also FUN is a key word here, something completely missing from Craig. Even the original Fleming novels were actually mostly just fun escapism, not miserable, depressing psycho-dramas with some 5'10 blank-faced goblin with no eyebrows and a pouty little mouth. Craig would have made a great henchman.
The set dressing in this level really makes the Facility feel like a real place. Fantastic attention to detail! I wonder if it would ever be possible to just release the walkable environments - I know that an MGS remake which got shut down was able to do a similar thing.
Yannick Zennhäusern, you are a fucking genius for creating this soundtrack. It's absolutely incredible. Please put this up for sale somewhere, I'd be happy to buy a copy.

This is how goldeneye looked to our eyes when it was released 😌
I know right?
13 year old me playing Goldeneye for the first time: "graphics can't possibly look any better than this!!"
CRT scanlines were a hell of a drug.
The soundtrack is godly
I would pay for this! Hope more people keep coming up with These remasters like the Black Mesa one…
Blending the movie and the game seamlessly. Incredibly cool. We could've had something amazing with this project.
I highly doubt it, sadly.
I’m sad development was forced to stop but I’m honoured to see what could have been. A delight on the eyes and ears!
MGM: Wow someone is making a great Bond game, adults with income will definitely buy this. Let's sue the creators.
This looks amazing :) They captured perfectly the style of the movie and mixed it with the beloved N64 Version.
I really wish MGM took this one seriously rather than giving the fan developers a cease and desist letter. This is something I would play on a Switch or on PC. Very detailed.
Thank you for bringing this to us!!! This is incredible!
The OG Facility music was insanely good but I have to say, this version is equally as good! What a shame this could never be finished :(
I'm in awe at this game. The level of detail is outstanding and the reference to the film with the soundtrack is truly impressive. It really is the Goldeneye remake that we wanted vs what we actually got on PS3 etc. It's a real shame we won't ever see this game in full.
Man this game had so much potential.
The music is so accurate
This is art. Beautiful work. I love how the soundtrack blends the film and the game. Amazing, even just being able to see this in action is something
I can't fathom why anyone would have a problem with a tribute video game being released about a movie from 1995! Coming up on 30 years here shortly!
Had they shared it freely, no cost, no profit, there would be no copyright violation.
the fact they were ordered a cease order from MGM and the other company shows how much heart they lack!!! this is the remake that the fans wanted
To the developers and whoever made this video thank you so much😢. I feel like a kid again watching this and the graphics are beautiful.
The sound effects is just so instantly recognizable
It broke my heart to see this notification and know that we will never see this release. Graslu00, will you show a level per premiere???
The “hewt” when the npcs died brought so many memories 😢❤😂
Man, this project looks and sounds amazing! Even though we'll never get this, it definitely peaks the interest of their other projects.
Thank you to the creators for this and to you Graslu for showcasing it!
piques* the interest
I really wish we had got the chance to play this Goldeneye Remake. 👍🏻
Incredible work.
Thank you SO much for showing this off. It’s an absolute tragedy this game will never come to light..
The watch face even lights up in the dark!
big corporations like MGM are just bored with their lives, so they go after people for their own amusement. it was a fan project, not a blatant upload of the movie.
Sadly this won't ever be finished or released, thanks to MGM.
That's not golden eye if the lamp and calculator don't blow up! 😂
Man if they would have made this it would have made millions
You thought they would look like Perfect Dark Zero? Weird... that game is bad.
How can someone be so cruel as to block something this awesome...
Says a lot when a fan remake can surpass that of a game studio.
This is the best thing ever!!! Keep up the excellent work!!
Sadly there's no more work for this. MGM shut it down.
Yannick Zennhäusern, you are a fucking genius for creating this soundtrack. It's absolutely incredible. Please put this up for sale somewhere, I'd be happy to buy a copy.
It is! Check his website, should be in the description I believe.
Incredible. The fact that this was shut down is tragic.
Love the 🚽 echo at 2:16 that sound is sweet to my ears.
This is beautifully done
That was by far, the coolest and most amazing version I have ever saw of a game. I loved this. Well done 10/10, down to every single little detail. Very impressive 👏👍
Thank you for this remake, i think you did this for the fans, nice work.
The real crime was MGM squashing this potential masterpiece.
I wish this was completed. It was looking so good!
Wow this is amazing. Such a shame it was shut down. There was so much potential here. GoldenEye 007 on N64 is one of the best games ever made. I wish it would get made just like it was originally with todays graphics and mechanics. Looks like that is what this was. Thanks for sharing.
I like that this “AK” is just full-auto, not three-round, and full auto when “ADS”. More real like that.
It's criminal to cancel such a project that every gamer in the entire world wants to play
on one hand MGM is well within their right to do the whole C&D thing but after seeing this it's so, so hard not to go "goddamn it i wish they approved of this fan project"
This looks so good for having had a coulpe of years of work left.
Name a more iconic multiplayer map. I’ll wait.
Complex
Id like to see a perfect dark like that.
This is actually exceptionally well done.
MAMA MIA!!! AMAZING!!!
PERFECT SOUNDTRACK!!!
OMG you even realized the aiming mode with the red crosshair. Never seen that in any remake not even the official remakes for the switch. For me these aiming controlls were the essence of goldeneye und perfect dark. You're awesome.
This is so awesome!! Love this game! ❤
MGM should have hired these guys to officially do the remake. This looks and plays amazing. Such a shame. 😢
This is the goldeneye we need today!
