I remember discovering the p90 because of Goldneye and it's horizontal magazine with a large capacity. So it always made me curious "If they could include the reload animation" ironically I think it was The World is Not Enough, a completely different Bond movie that had the bad guys using the p90 when they stole the nuke.
I love how the animations are full of inaccuracies to how the guns actually work irl, just like how old video game animations used to be. Makes them fit more naturally into the game.
@@Slonitram nice very true the shotgun is ejecting a shell before he racks it. Regardless looks way better than the guns just being lowered and magically having new rounds or magazine teleport in. I’m gonna be honest the same thing looks odd in time splitters
I've always loved the attention to detail for the guns in this game for the era it was made in. The muzzle flash, the casings, and the gun sound effects are great for a game that was made in the 90s. Even the Hollywood ricochet sound effects add a special cinematic touch that many modern games are lacking. Those ricochet sounds actually happen in real-life depending on the environment. My favorite part of all is how the slide locks back after the last round. I've played some games from the early 2000s that gets it wrong where the slide locks back when the mag release is pressed. I also have a Walther PPK that I love taking to the range and I put some tracer rounds through it and it looked just like the game with that red streak from the bullets. So this game back in the day did a really amazing job with the guns. Just think about that, it was the 90s!
THIS IS AWESOME. I LOVE that some animations are reused from Perfect Dark. I've always found Perfect Dark's reloads the most satisfying, and seeing them in Goldeneye is amazing.
Ive noticed the perfect dark reloading in this video e.g. falcon 2, CMP-150 and dragon reloading. However I particularly liked the custom RC-P90 and golden gun animation. Well played.
While not much is different from the last release, I love that there are a few new/tweaked animations like the one for the KF7. Was hoping for the Grenade Launcher to get a unique animation but I know that one will be complicated & require overhauling the model to make parts removable...assuming it actually gets a unique animation. There is a limit to how many unique reloading animations are in the game so maybe we've run out since we still have some Perfect Dark weapons included as bonus content (an inverse of the GoldenEye weapons in the original game) which do have unique animations. It's sadly not an "each gun has its own copy" scenario which is why various guns share the same animations. Regardless, the existing animations look great and I love that the detonator for the Remote Mines has been replaced with the Watch. It's a little odd for Bond to remove it but for gameplay purposes it fits better than the old PD model so it's a welcome change IMO.
The sniper is supposed to be based off of the Walther WA2000 Semi Automatic bullpup sniper rifle. A very rare firearm that came in a primarily wooden configuration. Bond used the sniper in the film “The living daylights” when he is on assignment at the beginning of the film. Very fitting considering Bond’s use of the Walther PPK and for a film the Walther P5. As for the Magnum, that’s essentially the Ruger Blackhawk with wooden grips, in a chrome finish. Hope this info helps!

The ability to model these in 3D while still maintaining the original "2d" appearance. Still looking the same when not being fired or reloaded. This is really just amazing
I remember discussing the death animations in this game when I was in elementary school. This is just like taking the initial game and bringing it into the modern era in terms of animation and interaction
@ Not clowning him. Maybe at a first glance they could look "2D" just like Quake 2 used 2D models on N64 but many didn't even notice. However I think they were obviously 3D considering you could move them around while aiming, only the reloads were basic.

@Saver310 Yes, you are right; I recall online discussions regarding that version. It is quite unfortunate that it never reached the stage of final release.

Interesting that they kept the Rudolph even though it's meant to be for a Christmas Update only. I was expecting the Mag 60 in its place moving forward. Pity that the automatic weapons do not have Secondary Fire Functions, as they could've had a Select Fire or a Butt Strike function. The Grenade Launcher could've had Sticky Grenades, and the Rocket Launcher could've had Guided Rockets like the Slayer. And the Moonraker Laser could easily use the Scope Zoom from the AR34.
In GoldenEye and Perfect Dark, you can kind of select the fire option already. Tap Z to fire a burst, aim and tap Z to fire semi auto, and hold Z for full auto.

Crazy how much personality reload animations add to Goldeneye. It felt like such a leap for Perfect Dark playing them as a teen.
