    I live about 15 mins from Gibela and it’s been operating for a number of years. I’ve also been to the factory a number of times and it’s amazing how many young, talented South African ladies and gents (artisans, electricians, engineers, etc) from surrounding areas are employed here.
    I personally think this is one thing our government has done right - which I really wish would be duplicated across the country. We just need political will to make things happen in this country, that is all.

    • @Simpso246
      @Simpso246 9 месяцев назад

      @@florencediallo8340 what’s your point? My comment was based on this specific project which was commissioned by PRASA (which is a government entity), to have 600 trains built and maintained over a certain period by Gibela. I’m not a fan of the ANC, but let’s give credit where it’s due - a lot of unemployed graduates received the necessary training and were absorbed into the employment market. This company was formed in 2013, by the way and whether you and I like it or not, it was during the current government’s time, which happens to be the ANC…
      That aside, a lot of factories and manufacturing plants are closing down on a regular basis - due to lack of support from the government, that’s what I meant by having political will to assist and get things done, most businesses can be rescued and need not go under, but there’s just no assistance from the current government.

      @@florencediallo8340 those old red and white trains were produced and manufactured in South Africa by our companies in the 50s and 60s. Later in the 90s they build yellow,grey and blue trains for Metro Rail. Railway industry is the biggest in the continent. The problem is that this sector was neglected because of lack of investments in Metro rail by government since 80s,even after Anc came into power.

Getting us a best deal to import modernised trains with a deal to build them at home and actually create an industry with more expertise he really deserve an applud.
    But i know that there are other people with a different agenda because Zondo commission tried hard to implicate him in corruption that was not even there. Thats why i hate politics with all my heart they will delay a nation's progress by just creating a false narrative.

Your Montana guy was just a proxy for the anc to make it look like he was the mastermind. Yes he was knowledgeable but corruption did take place under him. Don't deny or rubbish that part. You may hate politics all you like, the truth can never be swept away. The Zondo commission did not lie. Why did Montana not sue the Zondo commission if it was all fabrication? Justice will prevail in the Zondo commission findings.

    Yes, we may have this company, which was founded in 2013, but read the following, in 2015 "Prasa has been under the spotlight after it was reported that the Afro 4000 trains, purchased from Spanish manufacturer Vossloh Espana on a contract worth R3.5 billion, were too high for South African rail lines. The contract is for 70 locomotives, 13 of which have already been delivered to SA, at a cost of over R600 million. Having dismissed concerns about the specifications, Prasa reported in mid-August that an 11-carriage train lead by one of the new locomotives had derailed, injuring several passengers.

During Zuma tenure they should have completed the project. This project is behind schedule. You don't know what the future plans of this company is. It is very far behind because of the corruption of the ANC. By now it was supposed to be supplying nearby countries and expanding. It is also aimed to play a pivotal part in the Africa Grand Train Project. But yah typical tribalist will want to praise Zuma.

If you talking about the long speed train project that was once proposed by Chinese company from Gauteng to KZN, that could be because of the type of trains which is possible that we dont manufacture them and china could be manufacturing them and even selling them cheaper. South Africa got its independence in the 90's and all the lands owned by the white population do you think that's fair? The Dutch and the English came and took away the people's land that's not right. Is it the same thing with Palestine and Israel? In 1917 King George V made a promise to the Rothschild banker that he is going to find a home for the European Jewish people. Arthur James Balfour: On 2 November 1917 he issued a government statement, known as the Balfour declaration, on the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people. Everything materialized after world war 2. They put those European Jewish people on Palestine land, every day is war.😢 The original Jews in the Bible are black people. What about Diego Garcia in the Indian ocean it was occupied by black people, and the British government removed the people off the islands and gave it to the United States government to build a naval base. That's not right.
