"Harris Ryland is a gutless child..he's about to be schooled by a really dangerous man" ooo truth, J.R. you absolute fricking LEGEND, love and miss you.

Oh my gosh. It is so hard for me to think of Season 2 at some point without JR. Watching this, my heart breaks all over. :( Long live JR and Sue Ellen.
just looking at Larry Hagman on this you could tell how sick he really was looking so thin and frail like that very sad to see but what courage it took larry to keep working right up till just before he died. god bless him
It was so nice to get to see atleast 3 seasons of the new Dallas...updated..and 2 of them with JR before the death of Larry Hagman..! It is not everyday we get to see such a hit updated and brought back to life with super writing and original actors and characters...I would love to have seen it continue...
These are two of my favourite scenes in the new DALLAS. Hell, they're two of my favourite scenes in all DALLAS. Great characterization, interaction between characters, writing, plot, the show's mythology, amazing acting all rolled into four short minutes. So glad DALLAS is back. It inspired me way back in the 80's and it keeps on goin'!
I hope so. It deserves a wider exposure since it was only available to see on the DVD set (not every fan will have bought a set realistically) and people who can tune in on youtube will not know of its existence. It'd also serve as part of a fitting tribute to the man as well as to the character so it should be shown in any capacity possible.
The first scene says more about JR than any other in the whole Dallas series. (New or or Original) The new series showed just how much JR loved his Daddy Jock and that he remembered every lesson his Daddy taught him. JR had his dark side when it came to keeping and gaining the Ewing power but he was even darker when someone he considered beneath him did harm to his family. These scenes fall back to the original series when Jock told JR to watch after Sue Ellen no matter what the cost. JR loved his family even when he was at his worst and he proved that upon his death. He's the best anti-hero in television history.
A shame Larry Hagman is no longer with us. He and Josh Henderson had such chemistry too. Josh was ideal to carry it on. Brenda Strong and Linda Gray are good too 💫🐎💐🇺🇸
This is why I always loved Jr he may have had a mean streak in him but somewhere deep inside that rough tuff no nonsense he somehow managed to find that little bit of goodness inside him lol he played his character so well Dallas needed Jr as much as Jr needed south fork
"Harris Ryland is a gutless child. He's about to be schooled by a really dangerous man." If anyone knows the art of danger and being bad, it would be JR Ewing. :)
What they could do maybe, is have an episode where characters reminisce about JR, talk about private conversations? That would allow them to use deleted scenes as flashbacks.?
RIP Larry, one of the best bad guys ever on TV, he went from just being a TV star-"I Dream of Jeannie" to world wide TV phenom, "Dallas" was "must see TV" and I would wait to go out clubbing after it went off (the original that started on CBS).
This is the JR that made the original series a global sensation and the scene with Ann gave us the JR he used to be before the producers softened him in the late 1980’s/early 1990’s..
JR did take care of Ryland posthumously in season 2 but I can understand this scene being cut. Also, I remember this episode, and would it seem weird for Ann to come to JR for help when she told him off in the same episode for what he did to Bobby (What was that line that she used on him when she kicked him out). Having said that, no one can deny that JR was a BOSS at 1:38
I do believe that they might show this scene as a flashback of Ann's (or in other context) after JR's death. Cause he promised Bobby he will take care of Ryland and double checked on him in his last episode where JR gets shot.
“Well if you’re gonna shoot me or slap me.......lemme protect my bourbon first.” 😂😂😂😂 JR was and always will be a legend! Makes me wanna just sit outside with my bourbon rocking kick ass boots and a cowboy hat
The clip with Ann is my favorite deleted scene as well but I think the reason why it was deleted had more to do with the fact that Larry might have been ailing at this time and wasn't on hand to finish out some of what would've been required to make his promise to deal with Ryland credible. Here he is, promising to deal with Ryland, and yet no where does he do that. I think he was originally intended to play a more pivotal role but since he was failing, they cut some of his scenes down.
It's a shame when the new Dallas started Larry Hagman was still relatively healthy, but as the season progressed you can see the weight loss and he looked weak 🙁
I disagree. He had many emotions & they were shown behind the scenes (to viewers only) as well as to his family. This occurred in the original series as well as TNT's extension. It's how such a conniver as J.R. was still likeable. Otherwise he hardly would've lasted this long. So I don't think that was it. I think Larry was unable to carry out the filming schedule originally conceived for J.R.'s involvement so the show went light on him. Otherwise we'd have a threat without J.R. carrying it out.
The set designers went to all the trouble to recreate that iconic patio set and still got it wrong. You'd think they could have taken a picture of the original?
Yes, I still can't believe I won't be seeing old JR. But, who knows, maybe they will include some deleted scenes (re-edited) of him in the future episodes.
The producer of Dallas TNT made it clear in interviews that she was ignoring the two reunion movies. That's why there was nothing in this series about Bobby and Sue Ellen having taken over Ewing Oil. This series picked up where the last season of the old series left off and Cliff Barnes had taken over Ewing Oil (though it appears he had sold it off in pieces in the intervening years)
So the scene where Sue Ellen says she hits him was also deleted! I've looked all over you tube for it cant find it?? This should have made it. "If your going to shoot me or slap me let me protect my bourbon first lol!" classic J.R Ewing :-)
that's one possibility. but i also think the scenes here make his character appear from a man with emotion. jr was remorseless! he wasn't a man who would show his emotions
I wish Dallas came back years before this, I believe the show slowly died when Larry did in real life. What a great reboot, but a horrible ending of the series.
I think tptb abused JR the wprse they could in S1. They didn´t use his fullpotential. Instead we got boring Christopher, Elena, Bobby and Ann and JR was put to the backburner. This is how JR should have gone out, in blazing fire. The best scene get cu. Just typical.
"Harris Ryland is a gutless child...he's about to schooled by a REALLY dangerous man"
CLASSIC J.R. :)
"Harris Ryland is a gutless child..he's about to be schooled by a really dangerous man" ooo truth, J.R. you absolute fricking LEGEND, love and miss you.
J.R. could scare the Devil himself and then make him his whipping boy. That look he gives to Ann sent chills up my spine.
American Stig, Yep, Larry Hagman was a legend.
Like she just asked The Godfather for a "favor". That Ryland feller ain't gonna know what hit him.
@@kurtsnyder4752Some useful Machiavellian operandi in Puzo's magnum opus. However, "keeping your friend's close, but keeping your enemie's closer isn't sage because it allows the intimate knowledge, no matter the presentation.
If I had a problem, here are five words I'd have been very relieved to hear J.R. Ewing say: "I'll take care of it."
Nothing more needs to be said.
Yes, and that means you owe JR a favor and he will collect.
J.R. was a BEAST, he knew how to play the game. He always loved Sue Ellen in a crazy way.
I love how JR gets that" bastards gonna die" when he hears someone is messing with Sue Ellen. after all the cap between them he truly loved her
Was so hoping they would have gotten them back together before Larry passed
Absouletely
Yes - just the look is enough!
She was truly the love of his life
We never do stop loving our true first love
Oh my gosh. It is so hard for me to think of Season 2 at some point without JR. Watching this, my heart breaks all over. :( Long live JR and Sue Ellen.
just looking at Larry Hagman on this you could tell how sick he really was looking so thin and frail like that very sad to see but what courage it took larry to keep working right up till just before he died. god bless him
He absolutely loved her. She eventually could throw back at him and he admired that.
Nobody beats JR. love and miss him
Man...... they should have started the new series a couple of years earlier, so we could have gotten more years of JR Ewing..
Good show
I think that’s definitely one of the regrets of the show and canceling it the way they did
I’ll take care of it. It’s a done deal with J.R
Never should have been deleted. Wicked shame. Brilliant scene.
“Well if you’re gonna shoot me or slap me.....lemme protect my bourbon first.”
What a god damn icon! We miss you Larry!
Godfather9814, LOL!
Awesome actor!!!
J.R. was one of a pistol!
The Man knows his priorities.
Always the smartest man in the room. And the funniest. And the cleverest. Love JR.
JR is the old school dangerous man,one of the best villains ever
Nobody can handle things like the tough Texan JR Ewing. He doesn’t miss a thing. Love and miss you Mr Ewing. ❤😢
It was so nice to get to see atleast 3 seasons of the new Dallas...updated..and 2 of them with JR before the death of Larry Hagman..! It is not everyday we get to see such a hit updated and brought back to life with super writing and original actors and characters...I would love to have seen it continue...
And the moral of this story is, DON'T EVER FUCK WITH AN EWING!!!!!!!
Larry Hagman, God bless him!!! So selfless of him to play JR, even when he was sick. 🙏❤
I grew up watching JR and Alexis, and they were so good when they were being bad. I loved them and rooted for them.
the expression on jr's face after he says it, just scary! i love it!
Sue-Ellen still strikes JR despite their advanced ages? Even Bobby has stopped punching JR as of the 21st century.
The man was the king of texas.. rip larry h aka JR ewing.
you are so right. That is J.R. at his best. You have to love it.
awesome Jr moment
the most talented actor of all time...rest in peace Larry:(
Rest In Peace Larry Hagman.🙏❤️
I hope so. The ann and Jr scene is just beautiful and amazing.
I agree Edster, that was a lovely scene. I can't think why it wasn't used other than what you've said.
The icon speaks!!!!
The first scene says more about JR than any other in the whole Dallas series. (New or or Original) The new series showed just how much JR loved his Daddy Jock and that he remembered every lesson his Daddy taught him. Gary Schneider couldn't agree more, JR was and still is my favorite from Dallas then Sue Ellen and Bobby
I absolutely agree.
JR can give lessons on how to be confident to get what you want in life
I just started watching this and the classic and if amazed me that people hated JR’s tactics but when they were in trouble they needed him
still missed by us dallas fan's 5 years gone, rip jr/larry h
JR treated Sue Ellen like trash but he loved.
And when it all comes together, we'll see how JR's masterpiece takes down Cliff and Harris. Which I can't wait to see.
One of my favorite scenes
Cant believe my baby is gone. He was the one you loved to hate. I love you J.R.. R.I.P. LARRY...all my love❤❤❤
A shame Larry Hagman is no longer with us. He and Josh Henderson had such chemistry too. Josh was ideal to carry it on. Brenda Strong and Linda Gray are good too 💫🐎💐🇺🇸
Brenda and Linda are still with us
This is why I always loved Jr he may have had a mean streak in him but somewhere deep inside that rough tuff no nonsense he somehow managed to find that little bit of goodness inside him lol he played his character so well Dallas needed Jr as much as Jr needed south fork
If only they had let JR school that gutless child!
Incredible! Great scenes! I don't understand why these were deleted.
you're right, emotions did show off-screen more than on-screen. it's just in this scene, we see jr as larry, rather than jr as jr.
I know Larry Hagman was old but damn.
Happy 12 th Anniversary in Heaven Mr.L.Hagman. May you & your mother : Mary Martin have that blessed reunion in God's house.
I never knew this show happened. Where have I been
RIP Larry, one of the best bad guys ever on TV, he went from just being a TV star-"I Dream of Jeannie" to world wide TV phenom, "Dallas" was "must see TV" and I would wait to go out clubbing after it went off (the original that started on CBS).
This is so sad. Larry was not in good health as people can tell and he is having trouble speaking. He is talking as if he is ready to lose his voice.
Right. Larry should b resting, not overworking himself. Sad to watch.
God i miss this show ..i miss those friday nights
This is the JR that made the original series a global sensation and the scene with Ann gave us the JR he used to be before the producers softened him in the late 1980’s/early 1990’s..

F**king badass! J.R. Ewing is Don Corleone, Doc Holliday and Tony Montana all rolled into one!
Pure class jr ewing Best ever
I do believe that they might show this scene as a flashback of Ann's (or in other context) after JR's death. Cause he promised Bobby he will take care of Ryland and double checked on him in his last episode where JR gets shot.
I'm not surprised if the microphone idea that stopped Ryland was J.R.'s.
2024!! Damn I miss JR and Dallas.
Why did they delete this scene? The scene on the Southfork patio when JR reassures his sister-in-law is beautiful.
pwt3000, another deleted scene that should have never been deleted.
“Well if you’re gonna shoot me or slap me.......lemme protect my bourbon first.”
😂😂😂😂 JR was and always will be a legend! Makes me wanna just sit outside with my bourbon rocking kick ass boots and a cowboy hat

Yep bad writing by Cynthia Cidre. I hate she deleted all these scenes with great acting though.
“I’ll take care of it.” No doubt whatsoever- ever!
It's a shame when the new Dallas started Larry Hagman was still relatively healthy, but as the season progressed you can see the weight loss and he looked weak 🙁
Jim Davis was in ill health in his final years playing Jock and Hagman basically repeated history.
J.R., still ready to defend his lady
I disagree. He had many emotions & they were shown behind the scenes (to viewers only) as well as to his family. This occurred in the original series as well as TNT's extension. It's how such a conniver as J.R. was still likeable. Otherwise he hardly would've lasted this long. So I don't think that was it. This show would have FLOURISHED on Netflix or Amazon Prime. A shame. Without the iconic Larry Hagman, it just didn't survive on basic cable.
The set designers went to all the trouble to recreate that iconic patio set and still got it wrong. You'd think they could have taken a picture of the original?
I loved that scene with Ann and JR. I don't get why they cut it.
Why did they cut this??? It summed up everything jr was and then some!
ohwell94, extactly! I hated this scene getting cutting.
Yes, I still can't believe I won't be seeing old JR. But, who knows, maybe they will include some deleted scenes (re-edited) of him in the future episodes.
It's funny, but J.R. seemed to almost have touches of Miss Ellie in the Ann scene.
Some of Mama finally showing.
You can tell in the first scene that J.R. really liked Ann to compare Bobby's other wife's. I wish they had miss scenes together before his death.
Only thing he didn't like was Pam was a Barñs.
Damn, if only Hagman had lasted another two years!
Jr can still cause the bad guys trouble and be a gentleman to the ladies
Shame that show is off the air
How did these scenes get deleted? Especially the one where JR says Harris is "about to be schooled by a really dangerous man." Wicked.
These scenes should have never been deleted.
these scenes were aired, I remember watching them.
J.R. luved sue Ellen !!!! They made the show !!!!
Anyone know what year this aired ?!
TIA
Larry looks so sad
Because he had a fucking cancer of pancreas :'(
This makes no sense. In J.R. returns he said he swore off the hard stuff years ago but he said let me protect my burboun first. Spell check
The producer of Dallas TNT made it clear in interviews that she was ignoring the two reunion movies. That's why there was nothing in this series about Bobby and Sue Ellen having taken over Ewing Oil. This series picked up where the last season of the old series left off and Cliff Barnes had taken over Ewing Oil (though it appears he had sold it off in pieces in the intervening years)
I agree.
I loved the reboot of Dallas
Jr. was so great at being rotten. Ole Ryland would of lost his butt up against a true devil, would of loved to of seen this play out. Jr. vs Ryland
I wished J.R. lived for just a few more seasons. I wonder how the show would have turned out.
They did.
So the scene where Sue Ellen says she hits him was also deleted! I've looked all over you tube for it cant find it?? This should have made it. "If your going to shoot me or slap me let me protect my bourbon first lol!" classic J.R Ewing :-)
Who's Harris ryland
Go JR
that's one possibility. but i also think the scenes here make his character appear from a man with emotion. jr was remorseless! he wasn't a man who would show his emotions
Only when it suited him.
I wish Dallas came back years before this, I believe the show slowly died when Larry did in real life.
What a great reboot, but a horrible ending of the series.
Oh boy do I love you xxxx
I think tptb abused JR the wprse they could in S1. They didn´t use his fullpotential. Instead we got boring Christopher, Elena, Bobby and Ann and JR was put to the backburner. This is how JR should have gone out, in blazing fire. The best scene get cu. Just typical.
Ok. I can buy that.
Why is it that peopls don't call sue ellen by the second married name Lockwood?
MrCraigblaze Her and Lockwood divorced or separated before the events in J.R. Returns, which this show ignored along with War of the Ewings.
He was family
.........Ewing guardian. ......minus Pam
Sue Ellen was a pain in the arse not asking for help. Love to seen jr go mad
They both look not good here
WOW Larry look bad in this scene
My gosh they have not aged well
