I grew up with the show and it was really had a formidable impact . I really loved Sue Ellen's character and how it evolved through the years, and how she gained ground and strength. JR never truly appreciated her, but she learned to master his game. I remember seeing these scenes in their original airing, it was always so exciting wondering what she would do next, always rooting for her to triumph. Scene 7 and 1 are two of my favorites, no one could lay it on or lay it out the way it is, like Sue Ellen! 😊
Agreed beginning after the dream season, Sue Ellen became a manipulator like J.R. and learned how to fight back (getting rid of Mandy, blocking his takeover of Weststar, etc.)
You left out my favorite moment. In Jocks Trial Part 2, JR and Sue Ellen are out in the hallway at the courthouse. Jr confronts Sue Ellen about her drinking and gives her some mouth spray. Then he tells her "Sue Ellen, you know what the worst thing is? You've lost your class." Sue Ellen replies with "No Jr, the worst thing that happened to me is you." Then she curtly sprays her mouth with the mouth spray, turns on her heel, and walks off.😅
Absolutely LOVED Dallas and Sue Ellen!! OMGsh how he tortured her in every - single - episode!! And she got stronger and stronger and stronger!! They were magic on screen together!!
My favorite scene with Sue Ellen was when she was prancing up and down Southfork's stairs pretending to be "the lady of the manor". lol Then being told off by Pam and ridiculed by Miss Ellie, "No one is taking over, not while I'm alive."
I was a Suellen Ewing fool I was 7 yrs old in 1978 when Dallas first came on and from day one i was hooked the main reason I watched it was that i Loved Linda Gray as Suellen
My favorite character is the one who carried the show. That villanous still of a smile when an episode ended, that grin, and the unique M.O of tearing someone's life and identity to shreds. Delivering on his evil promises everytime without ever failing. JR Ewing. My fave character of all characters Dallas ever had.
Thanks for posting. I find through repeated viewings most of their memorable moments were in the boudoir! 😉 Sue Ellen was such an impactful character definitely in my top 5 of all time
Jesus, even the LOWEST rated clip -- #3, during the Dream Season when the show started its decline, it still got a 20 rating and a 25 share! And clip number 4 got a 17 rating and a 30 share - which from a share perspective is a 30% improvement, those are still massive numbers, particularly by today's standards: I think the HIGHEST rated show for the 20-21 season was an 18. It's virtually impossible to get ratings that high with that level of share on broadcast television today, except perhaps for the Super Bowl. Now I kind of know why Dallas continued until season 14, the ratings were still quite high and thus the show was profitable even in its "decline". Thank you, BTW for those ratings tidbits. That bit of information was very illuminating! 👍

Have to agree about that stupid movie cliffhanger. Linda Gray wanted to make sure she left Dallas with her head held high but I always wished they'd found a better way for her to exit. It was a cliffhanger that had no repercussions at all and the show had well and truly lost its punch by then. Principal leaving along with Howard was really the end. It certainly had its moments but nothing of any real interest happened after the car accident.
Its mentioned that Sue Ellen left with the dumb movie story. It stinks that the others were the same. Pam being annoying because Christopher might be ignored because of Jenna baby and Miss Ellie solving a murder mystery.
There will never be another show like Dallas. Sue Ellen was a great, enduring character. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.🙂

Larry Hagman actually fought for her character to be stronger and to direct episodes.
Easily my favourite Dallas character - wonderful tribute.
Sue Ellen was as iconic as J.R. Love your work Toni… keep it up!
Another good one is when she tells JR that she was Valentine and hired Mandy.

#10 could’ve easily been #1.
Chances are it’s yours JR, and if it isn’t…. Watcha gonna do about it 😂
Gray is outstanding in her role
My Mother always thought she was so pretty and I have to agree!
I still watch this show, since the 1970s 🌹
Absolutely LOVED Dallas and Sue Ellen!! OMGsh how he tortured her in every - single - episode!! And she got stronger and stronger and stronger!! They were magic on screen together!!
Always Loved how she Said "Dusty" with that southern drawl.
Thanks for you working this you put a lot of work into it
Thanks a lot for your kind feedback. Have a great summer! Toni

Linda Gray and Barbara Bel Geddes were the reason I tuned in every week.

I'm sorry! I suggested you do this and you have!! Keep up the awesome work
No matter how shallow or money hungry she was, you couldn't help but love her and want to see her come out on top. Linda Gray was perfect!
When Sue Ellen was holding her baby and told Pam that's she got him, that LOOK she gave Pam when she kissed the baby was sinister and PRICELESS!
my favourite moment is when Sue Ellen punches JR at the oil baron's ball - S12E11
Sue Ellen is a great match for JR. Too bad JR treated her like trash. Strong woman keeps up with him and his shit.

Favorite suellen is when she makes the movie with Don Lockwood
Many good memories, great acting, new beginnings for up and coming talent 📜
Aha! Scene 6 is one of my all-time faves. Tell Mandy where to get off, Sue Ellen!!

@@supersoaps Thanks for taking the time to write back! I can see this website is a bit of a labour of love for you. Have a great Summer too x
I love love Sue Ellen. I was so upset when she left the show. 😢

Loved her lush moments
I liked Sue Ellen's development over the years. She went from being a dependent and abused trophy wife to confident and independent.
No 7 my fav
Sue Ellen é a minha personagem favorita de Dallas, desde sempre! E não me canso de apreciar a beleza fenomenal de Linda Gray...
Sue Ellen Ewing is the original Beth Dutton
OMG, how could you NOT include the balloon scene!!!
Season 11, cliffhanger doesn’t even have a ratings share, probably by theme no one really gave a damn about the show. Lol
We need the Ewings back !!!
Only 10 with what Sue Ellen went through with JR there would have to be at least 30 or more
Steven, this video is complemented by the most recent tribute to Linda Gray. Thanks for watching. Toni
Number 7 is my favorite.
Mine too. You can tell Larry Hagman wanted to bust out laughing when he said his lines.
7: JR as a stud service!!!!
Que superchirlan y del amoooor ----------;)
Who shot J.R.? was the best.
👏😍👏😍👏
Its mentioned that Sue Ellen left with the dumb movie story. It stinks that the others were the same.
Pam being annoying because Christopher might be ignored because of Jenna baby and Miss Ellie solving a murder mystery.
Sue Ellen is beautiful
Legendary Linda gray. Rest in peace. Beautiful remember, miss and love you.
FG d, Linda is alive and well as of this date.
You ought to be saying that about Larry Hagman, not Linda Gray.
I really hope Linda Gray does not read this comment 😂
@@pauljames7333 🤣🤣🤣
Sue Ellen had a great exit. But "powerful", generally speaking. No. Check out Knots Landing if you're interested in powerful women.
Her acting was horrible in the beginning.
Her acting improved as the show went on. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Maybe MAYBE the first few episodes of the first full season but by the time Brian Dennehy guest starred she was blowing most of them away! 💨
