6:17 This is my biggest gripe with LoL. The lane xp is so high priority and the map has so little going on that leaving your lane is commonly a bad idea, turning the game into laning simulator for extended periods of time.

Dota actually had this problem on previous Pro matches as they tend to boil down on "who is better farmed". They change it now so Kills gets more bounty and XP, even assisting on a kill as well. Ideally you want your team to group up and get a opportunistic kill. and get into teamfights as it will give you better Gold/XP over time.
However the other team will do so as well so picking team fights as an ADC is a matter of risk and reward. like
Do you have enough item to survive this teamfight. something like that

This is only really an issue with specific champions who are incentivized to neutralize lanes. Otherwise if both players are just handshaking lane, someone or both players are doing something wrong or it’s an issue with the meta.

AA's ult counter Necro, but then Necro can buy BKB and Eul to counter it, but then AA can buy hex to counter the counter.

Absolutely beautiful. Being able to highlight the ins and outs of Dota for LoL players is always amazing, especially doing it with this little time.
Something to mention is that mobility in Dota is far less built into a hero's kit than in League, and most spells are not skillshots, but instead based on clicking the enemy directly and the spell automatically targeting them. These two in combination means positioning is THE biggest factor in how successful you will be on most heroes.
As someone who plays heroes who have neither hard crowd control nor mobility, like Undying or Warlock, my positioning makes or breaks the game most times as support.

Support in Dota are more free than in LoL, you move way more across the map even in lower rating. Just like a Bard or a Pyke. Support are way more agressive in general and have raw damage/heal number baked into their kit with their CC and don't need specific items apart from like Aghanim Sceptor (specific item that empowered each heroes differents, usually the ultimate).
Playing Support in dota is actually very fun, extremelly pos 4 who have a huge variety of pick and is usually the roamer of the team. My personnal favorite is Earth Shaker. You can nuke peoples with a blink dagger if they are next to a big wave of creep or a stacked jungle camp.

Dota twitch also enabled Dota Tool Tips where you can watch the hero networth, stats, and buyback status in stream. You dont have to wait for the observer to show it in game. And that's is made by the community too, in which Valve and other TOs paid for it as a feature so that viewers can us it for free. One thing I like about Dota Esports is the anticipation before engaging to fight. Smoke plays and wrap around gameplay in Rosh Pit area. High Ground Defend. And trying to gain vision before going to clash. They also let us know about unique stats achieve by the pro like fastest roshan killed. But the great thing about Dota Esports especially now is that 112 unique heroes already picked during Group Stage. That how depth and diverse the game is.

Edit: I do this question because I feel that dota 2 has a lot more damage in mid late game from heroes like alchemist, troll warlord terrorblade etc, than in league which it could do the game more diffcult for new players, I'm trying to compare this kind of things by basic stats and simple maths, like the attack speed in both games, the most of cases i use to feel that dota 2 has insane attack speed and damage on a lot of heroes, which in league the damage is more from spells. 1. Attack Damage Carry (ADC) is inaccurate because some carries build magical damage only.

    3. The role of each hero is not certain. Most heroes can be played as multiple roles.

Good video but especially in TI the lanes are not SET they way you describe it. Teams can just switch top/ bottom when they think it’s beneficial, they can do a triple lane, normally you have a roamer that doesn’t have a set lane at all and there can be dual mid, like Tiny/Io or Gyro/Io in the past. Know some lol players and they also have problems understanding that landing. In lol it’s way more set, in dota aswell but mostly in low skill games. That’s why I wanted to mention it because in TI especially it’s very likely the lanes are not set.

  • @snails6997

As a support mains, I can confirm. yeah DotA clash will often hunting the backline heroes like supports.
Their abilities is quite independent from item. Not many spell power items in DotA to farm. Making them dont need to farm, and their disables is already late game level even at early game. Many of supports skill is flashy and game changing, erase them first and you wont have to see those nasty stuff used on you. No items also means no durability, means easier to quickly deleted from the map. Easy to dispatch and dangerous to be left alone, those makes support as huge targets.
We saw how Ancient Apparition (the icy support hero in this video, the one that buys back) often get killed first, since he is one of potent hero with nasty skill sets. Disables, fast cooldown slows, AoE DoT, regen/heal nullify, global range, and instakilling ult. He also dies fast, almost instantly.
ADC in DotA is like a clean up and sweeper for the battle leftovers. All the battle usually revolve in the correct initiation and proper spell piling on a correct targets. Also all the match is about visibility which usually provided or negated by supports.
Supports also have the most fun gameplay in the game, IMO. Here is why:
    - Since no need to farm, they basically the strongest heroes in the game for the first 10 minutes. All matches goes into minute 10.
    - Some farming intensive ultra ADC might start their fun at minute 30, but us the supports already brawl at MINUS 10 second. Not all matches goes late game, coz Rush tactic meta.
    - Supports role usually buys the strongest items in the game. Wards, Sentries, Smokes, and Dusts. Which is cool and respectable by average standard. Its easier to be MVP as support.
    - Support get less blame in bad matches. Poor initiation usually Offlaners fault. Bad roaming and bad playmaking usually Midlaners fault. Bad farm and poor lategame usually Safelaner fault. These lesser blaming games is saving huge mental health for the players.
    - The fact that "All Role" (more like "Huge chance become Support" Role) giving +30 MMR instead of +25, is a huge plus.

ooc but as someone who play lol recently, maybe im missing something but the comeback mechanic feels non existence in that game. building are so easy to destroy in lol, im not gonna pretend that you cant shred buildings in seconds in dota but that only happen if you play specific heroes that main mechanic is to destroy building fast. in lol i feel like every single heroes can destroy building in sec in late game. this feels so bad especially because of the fact that you cant buyback in lol. defense mechanic base is also so limited in lol, in dota you have glyph, highground mechanic, trees to hide inside your base, tp scrolls, random buildings behind barracks so enemy creeps dont directly attack your ancient/base after destroying tower and barracks (those extra seconds can be crucial). lastly small things like attack range and cast range that can be super massive in dota , bigger map so make thing easier to flank enemy when they push, spells like hook and skewer that can bring enemies to your fountain.

Another things u need to spot, in dota theres no focused carry, the whole core (mid/carry/offlane) can carry the game. Unlike league mostly the carry who brings the win for the team is adc. Thats why beside saying as pos1-5 theres also said as core / support.

Mostly true but don't forget that in Dota the supports can also carrying the game. Once I was using Rubick 4, the enemy picked Enigma. We were losing the game and they about to go high ground, and my team being the usesless bunch they are. They group up and you guessed it, the Enigma blink and drop the Blackhole killing my mid and offlane. But I managed to steal the Blackhole and counter them with my Carry and pos 5. And after that we made a comeback.

On the whole a good comprehensive video that covers most of the bigger concepts in simple ways that league players will be able to quickly understand. Although I'm sure some comments will give you shit for saying supports are the highest priority targets in teamfights, that's a lot easier for someone unfamiliar to quickly understand than something like:
"the highest priority target in teamfights will be whichever heroes have strong utility and teamfight skills balanced against how easy that hero is to burst before they can get their spells off as well as whether any other heroes have abilities that can save their teammates, except when there is a glass cannon type hero that constitutes a large enough percentage of the team's damage to require immediate focusing, but also accounting for any positioning errors made and how easy it is for each team to reach and focus priority targets"
which is arguably more accurate, but is needlessly confusing and most of the time just equates to "try and kill the supports asap" anyways.
What I would add to it, though, is more about map control and Roshan since those are such integral parts of almost every pro game. I don't think I've ever seen a game of pro league where one team takes almost complete control of the map and chokes the other team out of farm for minutes on end in order to accumulate enough of a lead to successfully force high ground, yet that's something that happens very frequently in pro dota. And the late game roshan items, refresher shard and aghs, can sometimes be just as important as the aegis for gaining enough advantage to take high ground. Plus I don't think you mentioned that sometimes rosh is just used as a bait to force a turtling team out of their base to fight, which sometimes ends up being more important than the rosh items themselves.
Granted, I haven't watched all that much pro league, cause I always end up getting bored after a few games when I try and get into it. Way too much nothing happening and nowhere near enough strategy involved. Hell, my favorite part of a pro dota game is the draft, while the league draft puts me to sleep. At least in dota when there is a low kill game the casters will talk about what each team's line-up is playing for and what item timings they are likely to play around. I know league has less of that, but even then I feel like casters are more focused on trying to hype up the absolutely nothing happening (a hard job they attempt admirably) than do in-depth analysis of what little strategy and macro plays are going on.

    • @Doflaminguard

Holy shit, do all Dota players have brain cancer? Reading this shit gives people Ebola. If your brain cannot comprehend what is happening in League of Legends then that is the fault of your parents inbreeding, not LoL. I guess it's no coincidence that Dota players cannot even get basic grammar right. Dota players be like: RTS so easy, only press button, not like Dota, RTS so easy I sleep. While League of Legends, Starcraft 2 and the like are Hyper Competitive games where every micro second matters and is of greatest importance. League of Legends players are toxic and I guess Dota players had somebody shart in their head instead of a brain. Even Rock-Paper-Scissors has many complexities that I guess not everybody has the mental abilities of comprehending. When somebody cannot understand a Hyper Competitive game like League of Legends or Starcraft 2 that is a self tell that they have a shart brain. And I don't want any of that on my clothes.

One correction is support aren't high priority, its the opposite. Carry are prioritize, the reason why AA is being out in the open is a trade off of being the first contact against the enemy through vision and spell resources being used. Like you said a buyback can be used, but a support bb is less resources intensive as its calculated by hero level. Position 1-3 will be always highest priority and depending on team composition losing one can destroy the team combo spells.

Tbh, it's not like that the support heroes are a priority. It's more like prioritizing which hero has the most annoying skill, then those has to get rid of quickly.
If by comparison, the one who show on the vision first were PL, then i doubt SR would make a move at all. They would still try to find AA, phoenix or ES and quickly kill them as those heroes will be annoying if the fight goes on as full team.
But yeah, sometimes some support are not a priority in a team fight such as NP, weaver, treant and other because their CC skill is limited or because they need items to utilize their role.

Broken, in the same sense as farming lane creeps is broken. It's not overpowered any more than other gold sources are. After all, supports have to spend a lot of time to stack camps up to x4, x5, x6 sizes... and then, the camp becomes so hard to kill that it turns into a small team objective, requiring multiple heroes to clear it. Enemy teams can also find stacks and steal them. My real problem with worlds is that you watch players that farm for 30 minute to only then fight for 5 .
Dunno why the meta is to farm that much since the very beginning of lol but they never change it .

It’s just the way the gold works. A kills is only worth 300g unless the player has some sort of streak going. So that’s like two waves or so I believe and you’re missing that for sure just leaving to tank somewhere and if you yourself don’t get the kill it feels like crap half the time.
