    Hi Carl! I just found your channel & am trying to lean to paint landscapes in watercolor & really enjoy your videos. I was trying to find the Richeson Brushes you suggest however, they are a little out of my price range so I was wondering if the Richeson Gray Matter brushes would work?

    • @CarlPurcellArt
      @CarlPurcellArt  Год назад

      I have never tried them. But KingArt has a series of round pointed that are not expensive and work great. It is the series 8020 Max round Finesse.

      The brushes only need to hold a lot of water and come to a fine point. Many Chinese watercolor brushes are great to use.

    Great demo! Your brush handling is similar to sumi brush painting. These Loew Cornell brushes are my favorites but they have been discontinued! Do you have any recommendations for replacement?

      @@CarlPurcellArt Thanks for the video. As an FYI, for whatever reason those brushes have been discontinued. I'm sure there are plenty of other brands of rounds that are equally good.

      I have always gotten them from Cheap Joe's, however when I went on their web site I couldn't find them. I went to Rex Art and found that they have every size in the ultra round.

    • @ConnectedConcepts
      @ConnectedConcepts 3 года назад +1

      @@CarlPurcellArt It appears that Loew-Cornell is part of a business family with KingArt and the KingArt series 9020 is a replacement for the similar numbered Lowe-Cornell brushes. Cheap Joe's is a source of the KIngArt brushes. I really enjoy your demonstrations and recently purchased your DVD from your website. Already have all of your books. Thanks.
