Street Fighter '89: The Final Fight v3.5 - Guy full gameplay [OpenBOR]

- Today, I present to you an OpenBOR fan game that I discovered this year and it quickly became one of my favorites. This project, developed by @MachokRomeo with the assistance of a cast of talented individuals, can be described as a Final Fight with an extended experience, featuring new levels and a plethora of game mechanics that were meticulously programmed. The essence of the original game is evident in every aspect, especially in terms of playability and the enemies, which is a significant point I'd like to discuss.
Through the use of scripts and specific engine commands, Romeo created enemies with a different way of walking and attacking; they don't adhere to the default behavior of the engine. This is an aspect that is unfortunately neglected in some OpenBOR games, making them appear very similar to each other. I would even go so far as to say that, at times, SF'89 doesn't resemble a typical OpenBOR game. This is the lesson that this game teaches us-the importance of enemies, as their behavior defines how the player must approach the game.
While I could delve into more details about qualities such as sprites, sound, etc., doing so would make my text very lengthy. I'll save the rest for the next video. I just want to express my gratitude to Romeo and the team for this incredible project, which exemplifies the power of the community.

As a fan of the original Final Fight, I gotta say this is a home run. I remember playing this in the arcade in the 90's. You've taken an already great beat em up and added to it in an incredible way. Great job!
I also have good memories of Final Fight. Although the original arcade machines were no longer available during my childhood, I enjoyed the game on emulators, especially on the GBA, which was my first experience with Final Fight.
Romeo and his team did an excellent job reviving this classic.
I have all 3 SEGA-CD-versions, all 3 versions on SNES and Mighty Final Fight on NES as will as Final Fight One on Game Boy and Final Fight Streetswise. I dont like the sound-effects from FF2 here from SNES, it's no good and not necessary. Maybe you could add the "talk-screens" from Game Boy when the bosses appear. Maybe you could use some layers from "Aliens vs Predator" from Arcade or from "Turtles in Time" and "Turtles Hyperstone Heist" to get some nice city-based layers. I can imagine a sewer-map from Turtles. That would be awesome.
"64th Street" has also nice city-background-layers.

This version of Final Fight is absolutely AMAZING!! It is the best version of FF I have seen yet. One thing I would love to see here are the enemy sprites from Final Fight 2, a few from Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, The Punisher and Captain Commando. It would be totally incredible to see them incorporated into the Mad Gear Gang. The ones that should be included are the ones that are the most similar aesthetically to the Mad Gear gang including Bosses like FF2 level 1 boss and C&D's level 1 boss. They really would fit well into this game. Even without them this game is absolutely outstanding. Congratulations to you on this brilliant work!

In my country, the name of this game was known as Hagar. But no one would use the Haggar character because it was cumbersome. 😁

How do you do these special moves in the game? I tried searching, but I couldn't find it anywhere.
You have to do the following commands:
Down + forward + Jump;
Down + up + Jump;
Down + forward + Special.
Damnd took the classic infinite like a chump.
Edit: Oh hey, I remember using that stage as a replacement for Training Stage in SSF4. Neat!
It was a bit easy to get him under control, I threw him but he didn't call more enemies. I suppose his programming is not completed yet.

This is incredible. You took a great game and made it even better. Can't help to wonder what happened at the end. How come the end boss didn't bust through the window before seeing him fall?
This happened because I didn't defeat him near the window. I guess that in future versions the author will alter that. For now, we can assume that Belger was kicked off the tower 💥🦵 after pretending to be unconscious and attempting to shoot someone.

I think children enjoy more colorful and cartoon-style graphics. There is a mobile game called Beat Street that uses pixel art and cartoon style and a lot of young ones enjoy it.

What is this witchcraft?? A special edition of the arcade witn new levels, moves and extras?? When is this available and on what format...looks awesome
This is a fan game developed by Romeo in the OpenBOR engine, it's available to download through the link in the description. It was released for Windows but you can try running the game in Wii, PSP, Android and Linux by installing the OpenBOR engine for the respective platforms and transferring the .PAK file.

Não sei oq acontece, fiz uma gameplay muito boa gravando no OBS Studio, a imagem ficou preta só o áudio gravou normal, isso só acontece com jogos baixados dessa plataforma OPENBOR outros jogos grava normal.
Isso também aconteceu comigo, tive que pegar as cenas do próprio jogo pra encaixar no vídeo.

Yes, indeed! This project was crafted by Final Fight fans. I share a similar mindset; I occasionally have a lot of ideas, but in my case they are for Streets of Rage.

The game is in phase of development, so he is not finished yet.
i see, i was thinking if Haggar use Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Voice and special moves. like Final Fight 3 and Slam Masters 2. @@danchavyn
@@HydrogenMist715 Probably, he will use moves from these games, especially MvC3. I suppose his voice is going to be from the same game; I don't remember another modern game in which Haggar has appeared.

There isn't an official release for this platform at the moment, but you can try installing OpenBOR engine for Android and then copy the game PAK file to the "paks" folder in your device.
